Very good hitch. Didn’t have to cut into lower bumper facia like the u-haul solution was proposing. I followed the install video for my 2024 Audi Q5. Took about 2 hours. Looks factory installed. My brand new car still looks new after removing and reinstalling all the rear bumper facia.
I had someone else install this hitch, so while I can’t speak to that process, I CAN say that I feel fully confident in and happy with my purchase! This is my 3rd or 4th hitch from e-trailer and I have been completely happy with them all. Thank you for great products and (apparently) relatively easy installation!!
Fits exactly as advertised. 2023 Audi Q5. Instructional video was perfect. Instructions filled in the gaps…torque of replacement bolts. Took a little over 2 hours as I had never worked on an Audi before and it is my wife’s car.
Package did arrive damaged with both mounting flanges poking out of the box. However after inspection there was no damage to the hitch or any parts. Installation was smooth (watch the YouTube vid BEFORE starting) and straightforward. Removing and reinstall the rear bumper cover / bodywork was the hardest thing and that was very easy. So easy a 16 year old could do it.
Perfect fit for our 2023 Audi Q5. We outsourced the installation to a local shop, but he carefully followed the install video these guys provided, and he said it was a great help to him. Great job guys!
The service and delivery time was first rate, the hitch looks very well made, the installation video made installation straightforward, and it looks good on the car. I have not installed the trailer wiring yet but expect no problems with that.
Nice hitch. Fits well. Installation did require trimming of lower portion of valence. Not mentioned in description.
Install hitch on my 2022 Audi Q5 yesterday. Following the installation video made the job very easy to follow. I am a reasonably good DIYer. Initially, I saw the installation on my vehicle was rated by etrailer as a 10/10 for difficulty. After watching video and performing the install, I would say its closer to 5/10. Any person with reasonable mechanical ability and the right tools shown in the video should be able to perform. I'm also very happy with the quality of the hitch.
Solid hitch, good price, good communication, fast shipping. The instructions provided with the hitch left a bit to be desired (I have the 2020 Q5 Hybrid and the instructions didn't cover some of the hybrid vehicle specifics). But as another etrailer customer suggested in their review, I used the instructions from another hitch manufacturer which were more comprehensive and all was good. Also, the bottom of my bumper cover didn't have the removable trailer hitch panel that most seem to have, so I had to make a cut-out in my bumper cover. This was the most time consuming part of the installation as I took my time to make sure I got the cut-out in the right place and didn't cut more than was necessary.
Hitch installation went smoothly thanks to the instructional video. I've installed 3 hitches on different vehicles and this Q5 was probably the most involved. Took about 2 hours to complete by myself. A second set of hands would make things go a little faster. No raising of jacking of car needed, in fact it would make it harder. Result looks great.
Corners of the plates welded to ends of tube punctured through the box. Corners of plates had powder coating rubbed off (pic #1 inside of box). Hitch receiver side had also punched through the wall of box but it comes wrapped in tape so no powder coat issues there.
I followed the you tube video for install and the dish soap spray helped lube clips for removing bumper fascia.
Easy install, looks great, be patient removing fascia and paper towel trick works for removing nuts.
Arrived 2 days before road trip. 3.5 hours to install (1 hardware store trip). Kuät Sherpa 2.0 bike rack looks great.
Really solid material with a nice finishing coat. Mounting hardware was super high quality, installation was pretty straightforward.
Quality hitch, hardware correct, instructions in the online video were spot-on.
Overall this thing has been great. Installed it on my wife’s Audi and the installation was smooth. Only thing you guys really aren’t clear about is how to get the hitch end through the factory gap in the bumper. It definitely does not just “fit” easily in all cases. I got it on there and its factory fit finish - but that’s glossed over in the video.

I finally got around to installing my new hitch. I used the video posted on your website showing this hitch being installed on my car. The video gave me the confidence to tackle the job which I completed I just 2 hours.

This is my second purchase from etrailer and I couldn’t be happier. The tow hitch arrived ahead of schedule and looks to be perfect. I ordered the trim tool kit as well and it was securely inside the box. Can’t wait to install it.
Great hitch, easy instructions video
The included instructions are helpful, and we also found the install video for a different hitch (same car) that helped a ton. Patience is key. Getting the bumper back on without any trimming was possible, but it was definitely not easy. Glad I had another person helping me. All in all, the installation was smooth with only three minor hiccups: the hitch fouled on a muffler shield (used pliers to slightly bend to not be an issue), the instructions didn’t mention disconnecting two wires (the video did, and was very easy with video instructions), and getting the bumper over the hitch without trimming was very tricky and took some effort to flex the bumper around it. Ultimately, the instructions and video did help immensely and I was pleased with the install and process.
I was pleased that this hitch in particular did not replace the crash bar.
Install was as easy as advertised. Your install video was excellent and detailed enough to get the install completed without incident. Follow instructions closely and you will have no issue. If you do not have an extra pair of hands to help lift off and reinstall the facia…….have something in place to set it on!
It took me 3 hours to install, going slowly and carefully. It looks perfect, like OEM. This is my 3rd hitch that I've purchased and installed from Trailer. They've always shipped a great product and you can tell that customer service is their main goal.
Great products. Great customer service. I am a repeat customer. Just got a new car dealer wanted $3200 to install a trailer hitch. I got the etrailer for $220 and a verified installer for $500. I had installed my previous one myself for an even greater savings.
Perfect fit
It was a great fit for my Audi Q5 and its installation, although a bit complex due to Audi's busy rear fascia, was reasonable. Great price and nice hitch end.
This hitch looks like it came from the factory, incredible value. I did the complete installation in 3hrs 15min, alone, and taking water breaks lol. I recommend asking someone to help with the lifting parts, was a little challenging alone.
