Less Rattle, More Peace of Mind

Let's be honest, towing is all about metal-on-metal contact. So some noises are bound to happen. But, you don't want to be checking your rearview mirror at every pop , bang , squeak , and clank you hear behind you. These sounds just aren't comforting to hear when you're hauling upwards of 5 tons. You want to trust that whatever you're using to pull that much weight is built to last, and a hitch that rattles when you shake it doesn't build much confidence, now does it?

A top-down view of the etrailer adjustable ball mount shows very little space between the ball mount and the adjustable channel

Like you, we think towing should be easy and carefree, so we wanted to give you one less noise to worry about. That's why we've designed this hitch with pins that allow for tighter tolerances than others in its class. It really quiets the amount of shake and rattle, so all you have to do is just roll.

Double-Duty Corrosion Resistance

A close-up view of the etrailer adjustable ball mount compares its black powder coat finish with some visible signs of rust on the hitch receiver

Most ball mounts have just 1 layer of paint or powder coat to protect them from the outside world. Scratch this away after towing just a couple times, and the raw metal underneath will start to rust before you know it. Some folks take pride in that rusty, worn-in look. After all, rust is proof that you've had plenty of road-worn adventures.

But we prefer something that works hard and looks like it's barely broken a sweat. That's why we added a layer of e-coat underneath the matte black powder coat to give you an extra layer of rust protection. So while others might be driving around with a flaking, rusted-out hitch, yours will be looking great for the long haul.

Quick Tip: As for the hitch ball itself, if you really want to make sure that black nickel stays looking fresh for longer, we suggest greasing it up before you tow.

Solid hitch, has worked really well and held up nicely over the last year. Only one issue…when used with bulldog couplers (with a slightly pointy end), the point catches on the frame of the hitch and when you make a tight enough turn, it sounds like someone shot the back of your truck with a shotgun. It’s not tight enough to break anything (at least on my setup), but it does rub through the powder coat and make a slight dent in the frame of the hitch where the very top of the coupler rubs. If I only used round couplers, would be 5 stars.

by:

This is exactly what I needed to raise my trailer a couple inches. It's very sturdy and low profile and it has an excellent price point. Plus I just think it looks cooler than most of the other hitches. Definitely worth getting one of these.

by:

Works great- I had to set the ball to the lowest level to get my trailer level, so I'm hoping that any other trailers I end up towing will fit at that level or higher. Also, etrailer always has excellent shipping times and customer service, so it's very easy to order from them. Thanks!

by:

Good products and quick shipping. Multi position hitch is very robust and will replace about a dozen various hitches with different heights and ball sizes.

After a years use, this product works so well for my multitrailer use. That I recently upgraded to the 14k version. I will give my other one away to one of the kids. I now have 5 or 6 standard hitches in storage.

@Steve That is great to hear Steve! I am glad it is working well for you and eliminating the need for so many different hitches. Great flexibility, and it looks nice! What kind of different trailers are you towing?

by:

Convenient for adjusting trailer ride level and tongue weight but the amount of slack in the components of the adjustment channel to ball coupler are less than pleasant to listen to while towing.
I have returned to a conventional style fixed placement coupler to take the movement and noise out of the equation.
A well built product but tolerances could be a bit snugger on the channel to ball coupler.

by:

I've owned this hitch setup for over a year now and am completely satisfied with it. My longest trip was 18 hours one way towing a 16' trailer with two ATVs. The adjustable rise/drop was perfect for what I needed to ensure a level ride. No one could beat the price for the quality, and I highly recommend this product.

by:

My trailer tongue smashed the hitch eliminating use of the adjustability. Standard trailer tongue on a brand new trailer I just bought. No good.

by:

Great customer service my hitch arrived in a timely manner and item met and excited my expectations a very solid product I would definitely purchase from etrailer again

by:

the pins make for easy adjustment for optimum trailer position but I fear that they may "fall" out. I only say this because before I bought a lock for my hitch I had one "fall" out and I "lost" the hitch. (quotation marks are because I'm not sure that someone didn't just steal the hitch and pin)

by:

Nice product! I'm towing around 8000lbs with it. I would of like to of seen some type of lock, or at least threaded bolts where the ball mount connects to the main piece of the hitch. No big deal, works great overall. The price was better than most adjustable mounts like this.

by:

My relationship started off on the wrong foot with etrailer. When I called back and spoked to Courtney, she straighten out my order problems. The correct trailer hitch was sent to me and now my towing is much smoother than it was before. I appreciate Courtney for her hands approach with me. I will start using etrailer for my RV needs.

by:

Looks amazing and super easy install! Perfect fit and the team help me find exactly what I needed for my ride!

That does look good, Matthew! Thanks for the feedback and including a photo as well. What are you towing?

by:

The hitch is heavy duty with a nice finish on the hitch ball.

by:

This hitch looks nice and adjusts to the height I needed. The shipping was painfully slow however. In a day and age where you can get things delivered same day from [online vendor] I’m not sure why it took so long for this to get delivered. I think it took about 10 days total from the time I ordered it to the time it showed up. If I would’ve been in a hurry I’d have canceled the order and ordered from [online vendor] for faster shipping.

by:

It works but alot of play between ball assembly and the main body. It doesn't fit tightly alot of play left and right. It looks like the bend is not quite 90 degree. Looks like a 16th to 1/8 inch gap between the ball assembly and the main body.

by:

So glad I decided to check eTrailer and discovered this hitch before pulling the trigger on another hitch that was comparable.

The hitch I almost bought used aluminum as the ball coupler to the steel drop/raise portion of the hitch, and while the aluminum was extremely thick, I still have reservations about using aluminum in environments where long term flexural and tensile strength are very important.

While the aluminum-containing hitch was rated at 10klbs just like the eTrailer version, I pulled the trigger on the eTrailer version due to its all steel construction and very comparable price point, giving me better overall piece of mind in the long run.

Very glad I did, this hitch from eTrailer is awesome in its quality, simplicity, and versatility! Will absolutely get the job done towing near but under 10k lbs.

by:

The worst hitch I have ever owned. Poor machining all around. Rattled constantly.

by:

Great fit and feel - looking forward to using it it on several different trailers

by:

Just want to thank etrailer for their incredible service. You can tell they hand pick your items and make sure everything is perfect before being shipped to you. This hitch is great and the quality is amazing especially for the price.

by:

For what I'm using it for it's a good hitch. Welds could use better quality control but overall good light duty hitch.

by:

Has a lot of slop in the fitment, in the receiver and in the ball to hitch interface with the 2 pins.
Fancy paint job on the ball piece looks good until anything touches it.

by:

Great quality product and the finish is mint. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for trailer hitch and since it is a 5” riser and 5” lower will work for any towing need.

by:

Easy set up and a great look! It was perfect because I didn't know exactly what I needed (as far as height), so I basically got it all.

by:

Overall a solid hitch. No issues with it at all and I like the adjustability.

by:

Excellent quality, fair price, fast shi pping

  • Will Draw-Tite Hitch Fit 2025 Ford Bronco
Hi Derek! The Draw-Tite # DT47YR has not yet been confirmed to fit by Draw-Tite which is why we have it listed that way. It probably will fit since it works with the 2021-2024 models but I can't guarantee it. One way or another, I would get the TowSmart Trailer Hitch Receiver # TS46VR instead. This has the same 4,500 lb max gross trailer weight rating and 675 lb max tongue weight rating as the Draw-Tite. It also has an extra long receiver to help clear the spare tire on the rear which...

We have also heard back from a few of our own customers who have successfully installed it on the Hybrid model. This hitch has a 2" receiver and a 3,500 lb towing capacity. If you intend to tow a trailer, you will also need the Curt T-Connector # C45FV. Do you already have a ball mount and ball? Or...

Hi Tyler; this is something that has been frequently requested but, it sounds like our product development team doesn't have any plans to make one in the near future. The only thing I can offer at this time is an alternative ball mount. The # TS74VR has a similar design and, although it is a "Tri-Ball," only holds two at a time. You can set it up with the 2" and 1-7/8" with the option to add the 2-5/16" should you ever need it. A more budget friendly option would be the Flint Hill Goods...

The # C57DR you were looking at will work, but you don't really need all of that. The sway bar would be a permanent addition to a single trailer so it wouldn't work on anything else you may tow later on. • What Does Tech Tip About Hands-Free Liftgate for Curt Hitch Mean
Hey Mike; most of the time a hitch like the # C13397 will only partially block the sensor. In that case, your customer will have to put their foot on either side of the receiver to trigger the sensor and open the liftgate. There won't be a warning light they have to deal with. Occasionally, it completely blocks the sensor so they can no longer use that function with the hitch installed. A lot of this depends on the exact location of the sensor. • Ball Mount for 2024 Subaru Outback Towing U-Haul Trailer
Hey David! Our own etrailer Hitch # e25TR measure 16" from the ground to the inside top of the receiver so that must be close.
