This kind of reliability is crucial for safe towing, especially during long hauls.

Damage-Free Towing Bars: Plastic Coating

No more worrying about scratches or nicks on your expensive towing bar. The Blue Ox Safety Cables feature a sturdy plastic coating that protects against abrasion, ensuring the longevity and pristine condition of your towing setup. This thoughtful addition keeps everything looking as good as the day you bought it.

Effortless Connection and Security: S-Hooks with Metal Keepers

Connecting and disconnecting your tow setup doesn't need to be a hassle. The Blue Ox Safety Cables come with robust S-Hooks, equipped with metal keepers to prevent accidental unhooking. This design not only simplifies the setup process but also adds an extra layer of security when you’re on the move.

Say Goodbye to Cable Dragging: Coiled Cable Design

One common issue with towing cables is dragging, especially on inclines or bumpy roads. The coiled design of the Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables ensures they stay off the ground, reducing wear and tear and prolonging the life of your cables. This means you can tow with confidence, knowing your setup is both safe and efficient.

Video Transcript for Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables Review

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Blue Ox safety cables for flat towed vehicles. Now these are pretty heavy duty cables rated at 7,500 pounds. So on a vehicle like a Jeep Wrangler that should be more than sufficient to be safe. The cable has some really nice features as a plastic coating is on it so that's gonna keep it from scratching your tow bar. You also have metal keepers here that act as a spring loaded stop here. That way it's not gonna accidentally disconnect and when you do need to disconnect, you can simply just push that down and also makes hooking up super easy as well.

The coil design also keeps it up off the ground even with its 84 inches of length. This should be no problem, and that way it's not dragging. It also kind of makes it nice for when you are unhooked. It kind of coils it all together, keeping it nice and tight. Now, many tow bars don't come with cables included so this is a component that you can pick up separately that's gonna work well.

Now, if you do have cable management on your tow bar which allows your wires and all your cables to be a little bit cleaner attached to the tow bar, you're gonna want to pick up a straight cable version and that way you can kind of easily attach that to it and we have those available here at etrailer. Other than that these are gonna be a great addition when picking up an entry level tow bar that may not have the cables or if you're just replacing some old cables that have started to fray and poke you when you use them. This is gonna be an awesome option. And that was a look at Blue Ox Safety cables for flat towed vehicles.

  • Recommended Flat Tow Setup for Blue Ox Tow Bar on 2008 Honda CR-V
For your 2008 Honda CR-V, you will want to start with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX2246 which will be directly compatible with your tow bar. The tow bar you are describing is likely the old alpha or avail model, either of which will work just fine. If you want to determine which model you have, you can find it printed on the driver's side leg under the latch handle according to my contact at Blue Ox. If you don't have the safety chains, you will also want # BX88196....

In order to flat tow your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sahara you will need at least 5 main parts. I have listed those parts out below along with a brief description of their purpose. Thank you for the picture! Most tow bars are going to have some stickers on the shank of the tow bar that will give you a part number; sometimes they come off over time, and occasionally you have to rely on visually matching them up to determine which one you have. From the sticker on the shank, it looks like you have a Blue Ox Aventa II tow bar, which has been replaced by the Blue Ox Alpha # BX7365 . But the good news is that we still have replacement parts available. The Replacement...

  • Weight Capacity Per Cable And Hook Dimensions For Blue Ox, Roadmaster, And Demco Safety Cables
The weight capacity listed for cables is for the pair. For example the Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables - 7,500lbs # BX88196 you referenced would have a 3,750lb capacity per cable. Since Roadmaster doesn't have a 7,500lb cable I'm assuming you're referencing the RoadMaster 76" Single Hook, Straight Safety Cables # RM-645-76. I've drawn up some dimensions for these two cables as well as the Demco Coiled Safety Cables # DM9523003 you referenced below.

  • Part Recommendations for Flat-Towing a 2019 Ford Ranger
I can definitely help! The main components you need to flat-tow your 2019 Ford Ranger include a base plate, a tow bar, a tow braking system, safety cables, and vehicle tow wiring. From the sounds of your question, it looks like you are between choosing a Blue Ox and a Roadmaster base plate/tow bar setup. I always recommend the Roadmaster setup because I favor the style of the Roadmaster quick-connect brackets over the Blue Ox ones. With a Roadmaster base plate, you do not need to purchase...

  • What is Needed To Make 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Ready to be Flat Towed?
Absolutely! As long as your 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 has the two-speed transfer case it can be flat towed behind your motorhome. With the truck connected to your motorhome you will start the truck, put the transfer case in neutral, verify it is in neutral by putting the truck in drive and reverse and seeing if it moves, then shift the truck back to drive. Next disconnect the battery and shift the truck into park. Now for the components needed to flat tow your truck you need a base plate...
