Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sahara

Thanks so much. I do have a blue ox tow bar already, will the roadmaster base plate fit?

In order to flat tow your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sahara you will need at least 5 main parts. Those parts being a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, tow bar wiring and supplemental braking system (which you already have). I have listed those parts out below along with a brief description of their purpose.

Base Plate Kit: This is a custom fit part that provides the attachment points needed on your Jeep for the tow bar.

- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-5 (works with standard factory bumper - no winches or guards)

Tow Bar: This is what comes from the motorhome and attaches to the base plate kit to flat tow your Jeep.

- Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676 (compatible with above base plate kit) this tow bar also includes the safety cables so you will not need to get them separately.

Tow Bar Wiring: Allows you to use your Jeep Wrangler's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.

- Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154

Supplemental Braking System: Allows you to safely travel with and stop your Jeep while flat towing.

- You already have the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700. The Second Vehicle Kit for Roadmaster InvisiBrake Braking System # RM-98700 is what you will need for your second vehicle.

You may also need a high-low adapter to keep your tow set-up level. I have included a help article that goes over how to determine if this is needed and which one is correct. I have also linked our selection of high-low adapters so you can select the correct one if one is needed.

You will also want to check the owners manual of your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sahara to ensure you are doing everything that is recommended/required for flat towing your Jeep.

Thank you for the additional information about your tow bar. Since you already have a Blue Ox tow bar, you will want to use the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1126 which will be compatible with your Blue Ox tow bar. You may also need safety cables if your current tow bar does not have them. - Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables # BX88196
