Question:

I need help ing the right equipment to flat tow my 2019 Ford Ranger to my motor home. I want to make sure I get everything. I’m between Blue Ox and Road Master. I am new on how to install it and how the components work. Thanks for all the help.

I can definitely help! The main components you need to flat-tow your 2019 Ford Ranger include a base plate, a tow bar, a tow braking system, safety cables, and vehicle tow wiring.

From the sounds of your question, it looks like you are between choosing a Blue Ox and a Roadmaster base plate/tow bar setup. I always recommend the Roadmaster setup because I favor the style of the Roadmaster quick-connect brackets over the Blue Ox ones. With a Roadmaster base plate, you do not need to purchase any additional adapters to use Roadmaster tow bars.

The great thing about the Roadmaster base plate kit is that is simply installs into your Ranger's chassis. It comes with all required hardware for installation. As far as the Falcon tow bar, it allows for you to easily release your vehicle even in uneven ground and simply slides into the RV's hitch receiver without the need of a ball mount. This is the tool that connects your Ranger to the motorhome. In addition, you will also receive the proportional action of the Brake Buddy Classic 3 which applies the Ranger's brakes at the same level that you apply the brakes to your RV. The required relay kit keeps your Ranger's brake signal from overriding the turn signal sent by your RV. With the diode kit, this will allow you to connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your Ranger's lighting system.
