Question:
I drive a 1999 Honda CRV and Im going to buy the Rhino series Crossbars. Now my question is which roof basket would best fit the bars and have enough space to throw my spare tire up there. I also would like to know if I can mount a bike rack onto the Cargo Basket while still having my spare tire on the roof as well. -hoping for help

Yakima offers a Spare Tire Carrier for Rooftop Cargo Baskets, part # Y07076. This part is made for their LoadWarrior, part # Y07070, and MegaWarrior, part # Y07080, cargo baskets. These cargo baskets will allow you to mount a roof top bike rack on top of the basket so you can still bring your bike with you.
The RockyMounts SwitchHitter Roof Bike Rack, Fork Mount # RKY1270 is compatible with the round bars of the LoadWarrior or MegaWarrior. I like this rack because it is a durable, aluminum rack at a budget-friendly price and it will allow you to use lock cores # RKY0332 to lock the rack and bike to the cargo basket.
I would also recommend the Thule Cargo Tie downs like # TH523. These cinching tie-downs secure your gear to a cargo carrier or roof rack.
Also you will need to consult the vehicle owner's manual or with Honda for the roof capacity before loading. For install details and some product demonstration videos, click the provided links.

I was wondering for the Rocky Mountain switch hitter fork bike carrier if there would be a problem opening my trunk. I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk with the automated lift gate so I don’t want it to scratch the paint when I access the cargo inside. Just wanted to confirm before I buy it.
