Note: This dual-arm rack reduces the need for a bike frame adapter bar (sold separately) to mount a children's, women's, or alternative frame bicycle. However, to mount certain bikes or to keep your bike level on the rack, a bike adapter bar may be required. Most step-through bikes, dual-suspension bikes, and small children's bikes will require a bike adapter bar.

Yakima 8002476 LongHaul Bike Rack for RVs, MotorHomes, Travel Trailers

The Yakima LongHaul is a heavy-duty bike rack that's been thoroughly tested for use with motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, and flat-towed vehicles. This premium RV rack features SuperCush anti-sway cradles with ratcheting ZipStrip straps for easy bike loading. Dual-folding arms can be folded down when not in use. A complete Yakima Same Key System (SKS) security package secures the rack to your RV and your bikes to the rack.

RV Tested and RV Approved

Yakima 8002476 LongHaul Premium RV Tested Bike Rack

The distance between the rear axle and hitch on an RV can be up to 3 times longer than on a regular vehicle. This increased distance causes hitch-mounted RV bike racks to see a significant increase in movement and vibration. Add to this fact that most trailers and campers generally experience heavier loads and have less advanced suspension systems, and your bike rack can be in real danger of failing if not properly designed. To deal with these tough conditions Yakima developed the first RV testing and certification process for bike racks within the industry.

Using data from real-world testing and computer models during the design process, the LongHaul was built to handle the added stresses of RV applications. This includes undergoing an emergency stop test, speed bump test, and road test on both an RV and trailer. There was also a shaker test and pull test performed at 1-1/2 times their normal testing standard. This means you can rest easy knowing that whether you're using it on a Motorhome, 5th wheel, travel trailer, or flat-towed vehicle the LongHaul will be with you for the long haul.

Yakima 8002476 LongHaul RV Bike Rack Reinforced Shank

The bike rack's bottom elbow is strengthened by a solid steel, double weld reinforced bracket. This bracket is secured to the shank with 2 oversized bolts, which ensures minimal movement is transferred up the rack mast.

Yakima 8002476 LongHaul RV Bike Rack with Reinforced Arms

The rack's mast also contains internal steel fasteners that reinforce the arms. This prevents vibrations from being transferred into the arms, which ensures your bikes stay safely secured over long journeys.

Dual-Folding Arms

Yakima 8002476 LongHaul RV Bike Rack Dual Folding Arm Supports

The rack's arms fold flat for parking clearance or compact storage. To fold them down, pull the grey lever on top of the mast. When you're ready to load bikes again, simply lift the arms back up until they lock into place with an audible click.

SuperCush Anti-Sway Cradles with Ratcheting ZipStrip Straps

Yakima 8002476 Long Haul Bike Rack Ratcheting Straps

The LongHaul has premium SuperCush cradles to carry and protect your bikes during transport. The anti-sway cradles limit bike movement to help prevent bike-to-bike contact. Premium TPE padding protects your bikes' frames from damage by abosrbing road shock and vibration.

Yakima 8002476 LongHaul ZipStrip Straps

The cradles also include ratcheting ZipStrip straps that make loading and unloading your bikes a breeze. Simply insert the straps into the buckles on the cradle and push it down until it's snug around your bike frame. The ZipStrips can be removed quickly by pressing the release levers on the side of each anti-sway cradle.

Easy Installation with Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin

Yakima 8002476 LongHaul RV and Travel Trailer Class III and Class IV Receivers

The LongHaul installs with a threaded, anti-rattle hitch pin. Simply slide the shank in your RV's 2" hitch receiver, insert the threaded hitch pin, and tighten it down with the included tool. This not only secures the rack to your RV but also reduces noise and movement of the rack in your hitch.

Complete Security

Yakima 8002476 Long Haul SKS Bike Cable Lock

The LongHaul comes with a complete Yakims SKS security package. A built-in cable lock extends from the rack's mast to wrap around your bikes and secure them to the rack. An included hitchlock prevents a would-be thief from being able to loosen the anti-rattle pin and remove the rack from your hitch.

SKS cores can be swapped out if you own other Yakima products and want to use the same key to lock them all.

Built-in Bottle Openers

Yakima 8002476 LongHaul Bottle Openers

The LongHaul includes 2 built-in, machined-steel bottle openers in case your beverage of choice doesn't have a twist-off cap.

A very well designed and sturdy bike rack. Should hold up well for travel trailer use. Especially like the triple strapping system for each bike and hitch locking pin plus pull-out locking cable for the bikes. Same key fits each lock. Assembly is simple.

by:

Although I have not yet had the opportunity to use the bike rack, I have very closely inspected the rack and it appears to well built and will serve its purpose well. It took over one year from the date of the order until it was delivered. This was due to global supply chain shortages and beyond the control of e-trailer. The good part in all of this is that original price quote was honored.

by:

Yakima LongHaul has a solid build. Be aware that it may not fit your current bikes especially if it has cargo rack or is folding bike. I have to purchase two new bikes to fit on this rack along with my son's bike. Yakima LongHaul comes with two straps to hold the front wheels so they don't contact with adjacent bikes. I have to use one strap to hold the front wheels for two of my bikes. But Yakima should really provide four straps, one for each bike. It may take some time to arrange your bikes for the first few times to find the best spots to avoid contact. So far this bike rack serves me well on my SUV. I"m going to take a long trip with my fifth wheel soon. And I'll update this review later after the trip is done.

by:

Fast shipping as always. Product is heavy and well built: Exactly what I was looking for. I have four heavy steel bikes and lots of miles ahead of us. I didn’t want a flimsy poorly built product. Bonus: both ends of the fork have bottle openers.... [thumbs up]

I will try to remember to write another review after a few trips.

by:

For normal bikes behind a 38 ft. Fifth wheel this is unbeatable with anything rated as such in the market. However it cant handle normal weight of a Day 6 bike so I have to remove seat and wheels. In so doing it would be better if the design allowed the pads to rotate on the bar because the angle caused quick pad wear. I would like the set up to be able to handle at least 1 55 lb bike on an RV. The zip tie down are absolutely a great idea. We have travelled many miles in the midwest and have had no issues.

Comments
Bike rack is holding up well. About 5,000 miles in a year behind a fifth wheel RV on some really bad roads in areas across America.

I am very happy with this bike rack because it is solidly built and easy to use. The service and care at etrailer has also been top notch.

Comments
Very good product. No complaints.

by:

The rack has great features and easy to use. I just wish the 2 arms were just a bit closer together. Many newer bikes have a top bar that curves down toward the seat post. This is the case with my new mountain bike. I had to purchase a bar that goes on the bike so I could fit it onto the rack. My sister has a similar (not sure what brand) but the 2 arms on the rack are just slightly closer together and she did need to buy the extra mounting bar for her bike(same bike as mine.) Otherwise just love the rack!

by:

I'm going to use it for long trips both on the back of a camper and an SUV. The joint between the upright post and the hitch insert appears to be very strong. I preferred this over the tilt style for the additional strength. Arms fold up/down easily. Frame mounts are soft and straps are easy to use. It's tall, the bikes ride high especially on back of the camper....very unlikely that they would drag the road in any steep hill or deep dip situations. Mine arrived without the hardware bag but etrailer customer service was great and sent a bag free of charge that arrived a couple days later.

by:

The only problem with this unit is that it is very hard to fit the A frame mountain bike on the rack.

Comments
Larry, thank you for your review. When using a hanging bike rack such as part Y02476 you will need an adapter bar for bikes that do not have a top cross tube on the frame. I would recommend part # Y02531
Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar
$48.95
. This adapter will create a straight tube top for alternative frame bikes and allow it to hang evenly.

by:

Heavy duty and sturdy. Easy to fold and securing the bikes is simple. I use this on the back of a 40 ft fifth wheel with 4 steel framed bicycles. There is a lot of thrash back there when I’m on the road and this bike rack handles it.

by:

Very well built. Says I need a bar between my seat and handlebars to make it ride straight.

by:

Haven’t taken it out on our first trip yet but am already impressed with the sturdiness of the product. I feel confident that this will work week for carrying our bikes behind our trailer in a secured fashion.

by:

Very easy assembly. Built in and included locks add to the value of this rack that's already well worth the price.

by:

Received the bike rack yesterday. The packaging was very stout and even though the box was damaged in transit, there was no damage whatsoever to the bike rack. Assembly is very easy and took less than 10 minutes. I'm using this in the hitch (2") on the back of my Glacier Peak 5th wheel. The hitch is very sturdy, built well, powder coating (gray) looks good and came with a cable lock to lock the bikes to the rack and a hitch lock to lock the rack in the hitch. Locks are keyed alike.

by:

Great product. Very sturdy. Excellent customer service, very fast delivery. Will definitely buy from etrailer again

by:

Well built and high quality. When each of your bikes cost well into the thousands of dollars you don't want a cheap setup on the back of your RV.

by:

The product was shipped fast and delivered before expected. The checkout process was seamless. Most importantly, the tutorial videos created for each product allowed me understand each product and how they differed and ultimately choose the best product for my needs. The detail in the videos makes it unnecessary to physically go to a store to get "hands on" the products. I've bought several products from eTrailer and will continue to do so.

by:

I’m very happy with the service from etrailer.com. I’ll order from them again

by:

Great product, work great carrying my 4 bikes on my fifthwheel.

The LongHaul part # Y02476 is 42 inches from the top of the shank that slides into the hitch to the top of the rack. If you measure from the ground to the top of your vehicle hitch opening and then add 42 inches you will know how high you would need to lift this rack.
