Replacement Wheel Strap for Thule T2 Bike Racks

Today we're going to be taking a look at the replacement wheel strap for the Thule T2 hitch-mounted bike racks. This part number comes with one strap. It's going to fit the Thule T2 bike racks, part number TH916 and 917. This end right here, this is the end of the strap that goes into the wheel tray housing. The other end feeds through the ratcheting side of the tray. Let's take a look at some of the dimensions real quick, starting with the overall length. Measuring edge to edge, it's going to give us a measurement of about 11-1/2".
Just the rigid area, so from this point here to the end of the strap, is about 8-1/2". Side to side it's going to give us a width of 13/16". Right here it's got the indention. It's just a nice, easy-to-grip area. That way when you're placing it over the wheel, place it through the ratcheting mechanism. You can grab that, pull it tight, and then finish the tightening process with the ratcheting portion of the wheel tray.
That's going to do it for today's look at the replacement wheel strap for the Thule T2 hitch-mounted bike racks.

You folks are the BEST!
No matter how hard I try to keep these straps together and in the same place inside my truck (I have a 2-bike Thule carrier that I leave attached to the truck) they seem to migrate to parts unknown. That's why I ordered a spare. So far these straps have held up. It's not the quality of the strap but the fact that I don't want to lose one on a bike trip.
P.S. I have found very few retailers who carry these accessories and am thankful that etrailer.com does. I've purchased bike rack parts, and kayak rack parts. My go-to place.

Nice to find what you need and get it so quickly.Not a big item but essential.
This replacement strap fits the original Sportsworks hitch-mounted bike rack that morphed into the Thule T2. The rack itself is expensive but well worth the money; a lockable, strong rack that doesn't wobble. The straps don't like the Florida sun so plan on replacing every three or four years. The strap holds down the rear wheel but the real security is on the front wheel. I've had the rack for more than ten years and never had a problem at freeway speeds or on rough roads.
