Features to know about

Stays Secure on Rough Terrain: Interlocking, Articulating Connection

Off-road trails can twist and bounce a trailer until a standard ball coupler starts to show its limits. This Lock N Roll setup forms a tight, interlocked connection that won’t pop off the hitch ball. The vehicle-side latching plates hook directly into the matching Lock N Roll trailer-side coupler (sold separately), giving you a secure, rattle-free link that stays locked even when the road gets rough.

Keeps Your Setup Level: 2-1/2" Drop or Rise Built In

Matching the height between your trailer and vehicle helps prevent sway and uneven load handling. This hitch gives you a built-in 2-1/2" rise or drop so you can keep everything level whether you’re towing on pavement or dirt. The close-fit connection also helps reduce rattling and jerking motion, making for a smoother and quieter ride than a pintle setup.

Handles Heavy Loads with Confidence: 11,000 lbs GTW Rating

Big campers, equipment haulers, and cargo trailers demand strength. Rated for 11,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 1,100 lbs maximum tongue weight, this steel alloy hitch has the muscle to manage demanding pulls. It meets SAE J684 towing safety regulations and pairs with your 2" x 2" receiver for a solid, reliable fit every time.

Moves Naturally Off-Road: Full Articulation with 360° Rotation

When trails get uneven or steep, the built-in bearing in the head unit lets this hitch rotate a full 360 degrees while also pivoting side to side and up and down. That flexibility keeps your trailer stable over obstacles without transferring stress to your vehicle. It also makes backing up easier and prevents binding when you need to disconnect at an angle.

Built to Last: Durable Steel Construction with Corrosion-Resistant Finish

Exposure to dirt, water, and road grime comes with towing territory. The steel alloy construction and black paint finish resist corrosion while standing up to heavy use. With solid hardware included to secure the latching plates, this hitch is made for long-term reliability in all kinds of weather and terrain.

OUTstanding. Lift height was what I needed. Very easy to order, Nicole was super user friendly. Ask for Nicole everytime.....

by:

made from thick and sturdy material

by:

Very well made!

by:

Went camping with my Jeep and it worked amazing!!! Great product. Thank you.

by:

Looks like the real deal for off road. Yup its not cheap.

by:

This new set up has resolved a long time issue with my overland trailer and tow vehicle.

by:

It will fit on A 2022 Jeep Wrangler And not interfere Would the spare tire or tailgate in the up orientation. I needed to Level out my Taxa Woollybear.

by:

Been a year using it and have had zero issues. Only downside is that it’s harder to line up than a traditional ball. The tolerances are very tight so when hooking up there is less wiggle room. That’s also a plus for me I’d rather have a good tight fit anyway.

by:

The whole order showed up and it was all correct.

by:

Easy to work with, very effective. My sole caveat: 360 degree articulation means your off-road trailer can, and under the right circumstances, will flop on its side (ask how I know).

by:

Very secure and solid!! It keeps your trailer tight with no shifting like a ball mount. It also allows for hooking up from any direction if you get boxed in by another vehicle. I was boxed in and only could attach from an angle and not straight in. A life saver!!!

The product is great. Just wish etrailer’s return process was a bit more frictionless. Having to call costumer service to get a return approval, address, and being threatened with a 20% restocking fee as well as being charged for shipping. After ordering five products from etrailer.com over the past three months, I’m now convinced the local store, even if it’s within 100 miles is a better way to go, FOR ME.

by:

Other than picking the wrong drop, which is on me, this hitch system has been great. I was very happy to see that the system includes grease fittings on the articulating parts as well. Something that isn't very clear in the pictures both here and on the manufacturer's web site. If you are looking for a strong hitch system for an off road trailer, I would recommend this over a pintle and lunette ring system. No banging and no potential binding.

by:

Outstanding

by:

The fit and finish are very disappointing. Ugly welds. The pin does not go through like it should without reaming out the hole. For how expensive this was I would have expected a little more attention to the small details.

by:

Lauren did a fantastic job keeping me informed about shipping. I haven't installed the hitch yet, but I'm sure it will be perfect. Thank you

by:

etrailer deserves 5 stars their support is excellent. the hitch not so much. the unit that I got was very stiff requiring me to chuck it up in a vice and use 2 12 inch crescent wrenches to rotate the coupler to usable position. Now the coupler will rotate easily 90 degrees to the left and 45 degrees to the right without using the wrenches. If I want to use the coupler in the drop position I have to use the wrenches to get there but it will not rotate without the wrenches. Loc n Rol has a phone number stamped on the hitch. I called and out lined my problem and their response was use it and it will loosen up over time. That is not what I would expect when I have About $500.00 invested in this hitch system. I would guess that it takes 25 to 30 foot pounds of torque to rotate the coupler.

  • Recommended Sway Control for a Trailer w/a Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch
Welcome back Bob and thanks for the information. Like a standard ball mount the Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch item # 336VS511 is not going to do anything to address trailer way. There are no weight distribution systems with built in sway control that work with it either. If you're using the Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch item # 336VS511, then the only option I have to add sway control to your 2025 Ember Overland 221MSL is with the Tuson Trailer Sway Control System item # 335TSC-1000....

  • What Size Grease Fitting Does Lock N Roll Coupler Use
Hey Matt, the current Lock N Roll articulating hitches like # 336VS511 use a 6 mm x 1.0 low-profile grease zerk (needle-style) for lubricating the pivot bearings. Because it's a low-profile/needle zerk, a standard grease gun coupler often won't fit well like it sounds like you ran into. You'll typically need: A needle grease adapter or a grease gun compatible with low-profile/needle-style zerks. If the fitting is damaged or needs replacement, the correct thread size is M6 x 1.0 (6 mm...

  • Parts Needed To Tow Trailer With Lock N Roll Articulating Coupler
Hey Tara! Since you have the Lock N Roll Articulating Coupler # 336TS504 on your trailer you need a ball mount to match. For standard towing, you can use the Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch w/ 5-Position Channel # 336VS503515. This is adjustable with a max rise/drop of 8-1/4". There are also fixed mounts like the # 336VS501 with no rise/drop or # 336VS511 with a 2-1/2" rise/drop. If you're wanting to use a weight distribution hitch the only option is the Lock N Roll Weight Distribution...

  • Do I Need a Rise/Drop for the Lock N Roll Articulating Trailer Hitch for 2" Receivers Vehicle Side?
Hello again Tri, Thanks for the pictures, they are most helpful. On the truck side I am seeing about 19 1/2 to the top inside part of the receiver, and on the trailer end 16" to the bottom of the trailer coupler. You will want the Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch for 2" Receivers - 2-1/2" Drop/Rise - Vehicle Side - 11K # 336VS511. I know I asked questions on the answers, but I am really curios on what set-up you are putting together, so please tell =)

  • Recommended Lock N Roll Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler for a 2-1/2" Square Trailer Tongue
Hey Scott. The Lock N Roll item # 336TS526 you were looking at isn't designed for that but I have something that is. • Converting Pintle Setup of M416 Stevens Military Trailer to Lock N Roll Articulating Coupler
Since your Stevens M416 has an A-frame design the correct coupler setup you'd need for your trailer to use a Lock N Roll Articulating Coupler would be the part # 336TS504 which was designed for A-frame trailers for a direct fit that won't extend the trailer tongue. This would have to be welded on which I am sure you wouldn't have an issue with. • Can I Back Up Normally When Using a Lock N Roll Trailer Coupler
The 360 degree rotation of the Lock N Roll Articulating Trailer Coupler # 336VS511, along with the left to right and up and down articulation allows fantastic maneuverability, especially when backing a trailer around a corner and into a tight spot. This is actually one of the things that Lock N Roll touts on their site as one of the great features of this coupler, so there won't be any issues with control when backing up your trailer.
