Question:
Can I replace the ball hitch on a High Altitude XT50 trailer with this unit?
asked by: Mike B
Expert Reply:
You can absolutely replace the standard ball coupler on your High Altitude trailer with the Lock N Roll coupler you asked about, which is the following part:
- Lock N Roll Articulating Coupler - A-Frame - Trailer Side # 336TS504
Your trailer has an A-frame, so you'll simply have this coupler welded on, and it is the perfect option for your High Altitude off-road trailer as the Lock N Roll is designed to to pivot with the movement of rig in rougher terrain. That type of environment can make it difficult for a ball hitch to stay attached, but it won't be an issue whatsoever for the Lock N Roll.
The only other thing you will need is a vehicle-side mount, and you can choose from the following based on the rise or drop required:
- No Drop/Rise: Lock N Roll Articulating Trailer Hitch for 2" Receivers - Vehicle Side # 336VS501
- 2-1/2" Drop/Rise: Lock N Roll Articulating Trailer Hitch for 2" Receivers - Vehicle Side # 336VS511
- 4-1/2" Drop/Rise: Lock N Roll Articulating Trailer Hitch for 2" Receivers - Vehicle Side # 336VS517
To secure the mount in your hitch you will just need the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # e98880.
