Does Lock N Roll Articulating Hitch part # 336VS511 Reduce Weight Capacity

Question:
Does an articulating hitch like Lock N Load effect the weight carrying capacity of a hitch or is it the same as a ball hitch? I have a 6600 lb trailer Im buying and according to the light pickup truck manufacturers 5000 lb load carrying limit I need a WDH, but Im going to do overland camping. Do I need to go up to a 3/4 ton or is there another answer?

When using an articulating hitch like the Lock N Roll part # 336VS511 there is no reduction in weight capacity on the hitch or the trailer when compared to a ball mount.
If your truck has a 5,000 lb weight capacity and the trailer you are getting weighs 6,600 lbs the only solution is a different truck with a higher towing capacity.
