Dial in your JL with storage that mounts clean and works hard. Side-mounted fuel can carriers install forward of the doors using pre-installed bolt holes, with a bottom bracket that slides in behind rock rails, and they won't block the door from opening. For hitch cargo, use a 2" receiver instead of a 1-1/4" adapter since adapters can cut tongue weight in half. On JL 4xe, driver and passenger mounts are different.

Are JL tailgate storage bags secure when heavily loaded?

The bags themselves can hold up well with overloaded use and stitching staying pristine, but some mounting rails are plastic and can bend so the bags may fall off. A small snap that retains both bags can pop open easily. Look for a metal rail and a more secure clip-style retainer to help prevent issues.

Can I use a 1-1/4" to 2" adapter for a JL hitch carrier with a table?

No, plan on a 2" receiver for JL hitch carriers with a tailgate table. Adapters may not be allowed and can cut tongue weight in half. These carriers are designed to use the included support with weight primarily on the hitch; don't modify one to rest on the bumper.

How much weight can JL side can mounts carry?

Some JL side mounts do not have a confirmed capacity, but testing has included two 2 gal cans and a setup with 5 gal cans at about 40lbs. Verify the specific mount's testing notes and hardware. Load evenly and recheck fasteners after your first trip.

Which side is best for fuel can mounts on a JL 4xe?

The passenger side is typically the clean choice because the JL 4xe's charging port is on the driver side and that version mounts differently. Check that the mount you choose is side-specific for JL and 4xe. Also confirm the mount won't impact door opening; properly designed JL side mounts won't interfere with the door.

Will side-mounted can holders fit a Jeep JL with rock rails?

Yes, there are JL-side mounts that work with rock rails. They mount forward of the doors using pre-installed bolt holes on the sides of the Jeep, and the bottom bracket slides in behind the rock rails. Pick driver or passenger side to match your setup and confirm clearance along the rocker before tightening everything down.
