Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack, part number TS01B. With a bike installed, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. To start, like most platform racks, this can tilt away from your vehicle. We're just going to come to this foot pedal right here and push down, and we can tilt it away like so. Now, I will point out that when we come to open up our tailgate, we do come in contact with our bike as we get farther down, as you can see, just like that. So you can't open up your tailgate all the way if you have a bike installed, however, you can open it up enough to go to reach under it and open up your tonneau cover, and then you can get whatever you need out of your truck. To tilt it back up, we're just going to grab a hold of the bike rack and tilt it up, til it latches just like that. We have two different points where our bike is secured.

Yakima SwingDaddy Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima SwingDaddy 4 Bike Rack, part number Y02464. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first and most important feature about this bike rack is the fact that this can swing away from the vehicle, so you gain full access to your tailgate. To do that, we'll start in the back here with this knob, loosen it up like so. It's not going to come all the way off, but you know when it's loosened up. Come back to the front, there's this gray knob here right by the mast.

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack, part number NV22G. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first and most prominent feature of this rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, we come to this switch up at the front, we'll pull it towards us holding onto the bike rack and letting it come down. Unfortunately, we can't open the tailgate all the way with this as it's going to come in contact with the bike or the bike rack.

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to be test-fitting the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02443. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, the first and most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from your vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, we'll hold onto the bike rack, you come to this red knob up at the front, pull it out, let it come down. Now, unfortunately, we can't have full access to our tailgate here, as it will come in contact with the bike, but you do have some room to get some of the things you may need.

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Today in our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule T2 Pro Bike Rack. Part Number TH9034. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look and show out some of the features. The first and most important feature of this is the fact that it can tilt away from your vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that we have this grey handle here that we'll pull towards us to let it lower, which is a little more convenient as opposed to other racks where you have the handles up towards the front here and they're just a little more awkward to get it to tilt away. Let's go ahead and do that and we'll pull forward, towards us then let it come down.

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma TS03B

Today in our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're test fitting the Kuat Transfer, the Transfer is a three bike platform style rack. They designed this to be used with 1 1/4 or with 2-inch hitches. The part number on this is TS03G. A really nice feature on the rack is going to be the tilt away. Just a standard lever there will push it, and allow this rack to tilt out and away from the vehicle. Now it looks pretty tight here, it doesn't look as if we're going to get full . No, we're going to come to about here before we start running into interference issues, and I don't think that a different type of bike is going to make much of difference here. If you need access fully into the back of this truck it's not a good option.

RockyMounts Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're test fitting the Rocky Mounts Drive shaft SD. Now this is a pickup truck bed rail style bike carrier. It is designed to work with normal skewer bikes, 20 mm thru axle and 15 mm thru axles. It is really quite a versatile little carrier that is going to mount right into the track on our Toyota here. Holds nice and secure, no movement, no play. Really overall a really nice set up.

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma TH9031XT

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we've got out the Thule Vertex Swing and we're testing it. The Vertex Swing is a swing-away style folding 4 bike rack. It's been designed for use in 2 inch hitches. Part number on it is TH9031XT. Now of course, the big feature about this rack, it's got a lot of great features, but that biggest one is going to be the swing-away. To make that happen, we're going to loosen the large black T bolt. Once that's out far enough, you'll see it kind of tip back.

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're test fitting the Swagman Dispatch. The Dispatch is a 2 bike platform style rack. It's been designed for use in 2-inch hitches. Part number on this is S64684. You'll see here that the dispatch is going to hold our bike in place using 2 wheel cradles with straps, and also a frame hook. Now the wheel cradles with straps themselves. Easy to operate, you just press down the cam, pull the strap.

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're test-fitting the Kuat Envy. This is a platform-style, 4 bike rack. It's been designed for use in two inch hitches. Part number on it is N105-107. This rack is a really nice, lightweight, aluminum rack, as far as the 4 bike racks go. It's heavy, but not as heavy as those steel racks. A great feature of it, it's going to hold our bike and all of our bikes in position, without ever making contact with the frame.

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we got out the Curt Folding and Tilting Premium 4-bike rack, and we're test fitting it. Now this bike rack's been designed for use with 2" hitches. Part number on it is C18064. One of the big features I really like about the rack is going to be the cradle arms. We're got a wider set here in the front for the first 2, and then our arms narrow down here at the rear. You can imagine that's going to help us out a lot when it comes to kids' bikes, or maybe hybrid-style bikes and getting them on the rack. For holding our bikes, we've got two cradles, one in the front, one in the rear.

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma TH912XTR

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we've got out the Thule Roadway and we're doing a test fit on it. Now the Roadway's a 2 bike hanging style rack, tilts down when it's not in use and it'll fold away from the vehicle, couple of really nice features. Part number on it is TH912XTR. We can use this with 2-inch hitches and it's going to hold our bike in place using 3 straps. You're going to have 2 for the frames up here or 2 for the top of the frame and then 1 for the seat down tube. You can see that it does a really good job at keeping the rack from moving forward and back or keeping the bike from moving forward and back.

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma TH9029XT

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we've got out the Thule Vertex. We're going to test fit it and see what kind of room we've got between it and our vehicle. The Vertex is a hanging four bike rack. It is designed to fold and tilt. The part number on it is TH9029XT. This rack will work with inch and a quarter or with two inch hitches. Something that's nice here, is the incorporated cable lock designed to come back and slide right in this slot here, then its locked with one of the Thule one-key lock and tumblers.

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma S64650

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we've got this Swagman XC 2 out, and we're test fitting it. Now, the XC2 is a platform style 2 bike rack. It's been designed so we can use it with the inch and a quarter or with two inch hitches. The part number on it is S64650. Now one of my favorite things about the XC 2 is going to be the simplicity of the rack. You've got one hook that's going to hold our bike in position. Now don't let that scare you, it's going to really do a good job of holding your bike.

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma S63380

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we got out this Swagman Trailhead and we're going to test fit it. The Trailhead's a folding and tilting four-bike-style hanging rack. This has been designed so you can use it with inch and a 1/4 or with two inch hitches. The part number on it is S63380. The Trailhead uses four straps. We've got two on our front cradle, here on the frame, one a little bit further back on the frame, and then also back here on our anti-sway cradle. That does a good job of preventing or limiting the movement, forward and back.

Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Today in our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're doing a test fit of the Yakima full-tilt hanging style for bike rack, that part number is Y02462. Now we already have our bike in place, but first we're going to show you how we secure that down then we're going to go over some features of the rack itself. We have two cradles in place with three zip strips. How do we release those We're going to push the two grey pieces and pull that through. We got two up here at our frame and one is our anti-sway. We're just going to pull those off and set them off to the side.

Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma TH501

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Insta-Gater Truck Bed Single Bike Rack. That part number is TH501. Now I already have my bike secured down. I'm first going to show you how we do that and then we'll go over at how our bike rack is actually secured to our truck. If you step up in here, you'll see our wheel hook. Now this is going to push on our front tire here and ratch it down to secure our bike up against our tailgate and then to our wheel cradle.

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tocoma, we're doing a test fit of the N.O. tire hold, hitch mounted three bike rack. This is a platform style, and the part number for that is INH305-306. The first thing we're going to show you are a few features, then we'll go over how our bike is secured down, then we'll go over some more features.First thing I want to show you is our tilting feature because we actually can tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle, while our bike is installed. So, we're gonna come here to the end. We've got our lever here.
