Hollywood Racks SR1 2-Bike Carrier - Spare Tire Mount
Fantastic bike mount for a Jeep Wrangler! Quick and easy install on, and removal from, the vehicle, and secure mounting of bikes as well. Not cumbersome to use and very compact when not in use. Extremely satisfied with the purchase and mount!
Great products. Well made and fully assembled. Good communication and products arrived very quickly. Appreciated all the information on the website. It gave me the confidence that it would fit my vehicle. I mounted the bike rack on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL with back up camera with no issue. There is a tight clearance between the spare tire, and 3rd brake light but I was able to install it with the tire cover in tact. Going forward will probably put small spacers on the back of the tire mount for an extra fraction of inch clearance. Also, the adapter was needed to level out the women bike on the rack.

Yakima SpareRide 2 Bike Rack - Spare Tire Mount - Folding Arms
Very easy to install this bike rack to the spare tire of my 1997 Jeep Wrangler. I had extreme oversized tires and the extension fit after I look off the plate you can cable lock the bike(s) to. It looks sturdy, so we will see!
After a couple of weeks of researching which type of bike rack I wanted for my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK (hitch mount or spare tire), I decided on the spare tire mount. And after a 4hr (roundtrip) mountain biking weekend escape, I'm very happy with my decision. What I like about the rack: well built, very sturdy with bike(s) mounted (no sway or rattle), arms fold down and lock in place when not in use (looks slick), full access to cargo area without needing to remove rack, rack and bike cable locks included, economical, lifetime warranty and of course the dual bottle openers ; ) What I would improve upon or revise in a future model: arms should be longer (even just an inch because bikes rub slightly so I had to add padding), more use of aluminum rather than plastic (thinking long term durability of the plastic locking teeth and arms) Thanks eTrailer

Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
I don't know how we lived without this great rack until now. It's absolutely perfect for our Jeep and our bikes. It's safe and secure and have used it many times.
I own a 2005 Jeep Wrangler X with 31x10.5x15 oversized tires and wheels. I installed B6196001 HighRock 4x4 Oversize Tire Carrier by Bestop to carry larger spare tire. I needed a bike carrier that would carry our two crusier bikes and clear my spare tire. After measuring, I ordered: -> S64650 - Swagman 2-bike carrier -> 80300 - 7" Hitch Adapter 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver -> RM-061 - Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches Our order arrived very quickly, etrailer.com upgraded the shipping. All these products arrived well packaged and without damage. In 15 minutes I had every thing assembled, installed on my Jeep and bikes loaded. The bike carrier is very well constructed, finish is excellent and easy to adjust. When adjusting wheel loops and loading bikes, make sure you pay attention to bike pedal position. I chose this extension because I did not want to use the adapter that comes with the bike carrier, I wanted as few parts as possible to keep rattles to a minimum and gives me more options for towing. The anti-rattle bolt/pin firmly secures the bike carrier to the extension and the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch keeps the extension adapter from rattling in the receiver. Road tested approximately 25 miles over rough city roads ( including railroad tracks ), county roads and highway. Bikes traveled very well without any rattles. I can remove my complete setup quickly, fold and put in rear of Jeep if desired. I am very well pleased with my purchase. Note to etrailer: Please consider offering Roadmaster Quiet Hitch in black to match receiver and accessories. Paul In the Land of Oz . . . Just South of the Yellow Brick Road!

Swagman Trailhead Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting
after much research and great help from customer service at etrailer this was the only bike rack we could find for a 2 in receiver that had enough clearance for the over size spare tire on the wrangler and its able to be tilted down and could hold 2 bikes its very sturdy and would buy another one if I had the need for one
This bike rack is perfect for my Jeep Wrangler. Very easy set up and take off. It's stable even with 2 bikes. Would recommend it 100%.

Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
The rack got here in great time and took all of 20min to put together and install on my Jeep Wrangler. Quality is very good and the product is well thought out. I bought it to carry two mountain bikes and there is no way I can do that without damaging the spare tire cover or worse. If I took the pedal off the inside bike it would ride against the tire cover. You could carry a mountain bike on the outside and maybe a lightweight racing bike on the inside with the pedal off ........ maybe. I want to stress that this problem is directly due to the rear mounted spare. I like the rack a lot and can fix the problem by using a short hitch extender which I have. It would be very helpful for etrailer to specify what kinds or at least types of bikes that can be carried together on this rack when used with a vehicle with a rear mounted spare tire. The rack holds my large mountain bike very securely and I really like the ratchet down hooks that hold the top bar. My bike has the cables under the top bar so a hanging carrier is out. But I actually like this type of carrier better as it holds the bike to prevent it bouncing around and scraping the finish off of it. The carrier is a great buy for the cost.
The Swagman XTC-2 was exactly what I was hoping it would be; a very sturdy bicycle carrier. At 35 lbs capacity per bike I expected it to be rock-solid and my expectations were not diminished one bit. It arrived in a shipping package that was gorilla-proof, thankfully, given the typical handling of heavier packages; and even this arrived unscathed. The rack itself was easy to assemble and fit my 2011 Jeep Wrangler perfectly. We have several bikes that we ride (including one that required getting the fat tire hoopS) and not getting any younger, the Swagman made lifting them onto the rack a whole lot easier than hoisting them onto our current higher rack. We loaded our heavier bikes for a test spin to check it out and the rack held tight with no wobble or undue bouncing. All in all, a great shopping experience from initial scanning of the available products (wonderful selection), reviewing the product descriptions (often better than the manufacturer), and checkout. Anyone looking for a new bicycle rack should definitely visit the "etrailer" website.

Surco Spare Tire 3-Bike Carrier
Very easy to install on the spare tire. Sturdy construction and priced 1/3 of the top name brands. Also, non of the top name brands hold three bikes like this does. Extremely satisfied and highly recommend it to anyone.
Second one I've owned -- first was unfortunately lost in a move. Solid product that works well with my Jeep Wrangler. Carrier attaches easily to my spare tire, bikes attach easily to carrier. Have successfully made numerous cross-country with bikes with no issues. Convenient that swing gate opens without bike removal. What more could you ask of a bike carrier?

SportRack Ridge Swing 4 Bike Rack - 2" Hitches - Swinging
2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and 2017 Toyota Tacoma - Having heavily researched this and other products for a 4 bike rack for our Rubicon and Tacoma, I decided on the SR2415. The Rubicon was the concern with finding a rack that would work for both vehicles. We have an after market Class III hitch on the Rubicon that is almost flush with the rear bumper (protrudes about 1" or less). This rack came very close to touching the tire at the top when the Bike Holder Bar is in the stored position (about 1/2" of clearance). We have BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM LT255-75-R17. Purchased a Locking Hitch pin with this, but the rack comes with a threaded ping and the racks pin hole is also threaded on the right side. Was not able to use the locking bolt but the bolt that came with it holds it very tight. Only concern it being stolen. The Tacoma wasn't a concern but having the swing feature is extremely helpful for needing to access the bed/tailgate.Swings out and away from the Jeep with a little more effort than expected. Overall we are very happy and excited to start using this and will report back any updates. Hitch: Smittybilt JH45 Receiver Hitch Read Tire: BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM LT255-75-R17 Vehicles: 2017 Jeep Rubicon and 2017 Toyota Tacoma Dimensions: Tire to Closest Part to Rack: ~1/2in or less (Top of Rack when folded down - Folded out for use is 3-4 inches) Next Closest Point of Contact: Hand Tightening Bolt is 1-2 in from the tire, makes it a little difficult to tighten.
I chose this rack for my 2014 Jeep Wrangler 4-door so that I would be able to get into the back without taking the bikes off, it works perfectly in this respect and made a long road trip much easier. The only issue with the fit is when you rotate the rack into the folded down position it will rub a little bit on the spare tire, I have the stock Goodyear spare on mine. If you are using a wider tire you'll likely have to add a short hitch extension to make it work for you or else just leave the rack in the up position all the time. A couple days after I bought this rack we drove up to Acadia National Park in Maine from our home in Northwestern PA, it was a 12+ hour drive one way and this rack held up great there and back. No excess shifting or bouncing and the straps are very easy to use without feeling like they're going to tear apart (or tear your hand apart). The rack weathered quite a bit of rain and damp, foggy days and shows no signs of being affected by it. I will note that when I put it together I added extra grease to all the hinge pins/bolts and the spring-loaded pin. All around it was a great performer at half the price of the Yakima and Thule counterparts; it's essentially the same design without all the "chrome" so-to-speak.

Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
I've searched high and low for the right back rack that can take all the bikes I plan to haul. Looked at about everything out there and this one is by far the most stable and easy to use. The sway is much less than other racks I've had and the ease of putting it on and off is great. There are other racks I like but if you have fenders, heavy bikes or like the simplicity this is the one to get.
Excellent product and fast delivery.

Malone Runway Spare Tire Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - Adjustable Arms
The eTrailer has been a God send and we are so grateful. Our son-in-law died from COVID last year which left our daughter and two grand-daughters alone. This eTrailer was a gift which allows the three of them to get out for bike rides whenever they need to “clear their heads” and be refreshed in God’s glorious creation. This is the ONLY three bike carrier we know of… and Thank You for making it available. God bless.
I was excited to get this and eager to just pop it onto my spare tire like it shows in the video. 45 minutes later and I'm resigned to drilling an extra hole where the buttons are in order to tighten the hold over the tire, and chagrined that I had to "rear" my smaller bike frame angled upwards in order to seat it on the red rack receivers. This was because there wasn't enough room vertically on the frame or horizontally on the frame. Not sure how I would have been able to prepare for that, maybe there is some comment about smaller bike frames somewhere? One strap to secure the bikes is not enough in this situation, so things were strapped every which way, including the front tire of the bike so it wouldn't wobble everywhere. The bike and rack made it home for the maiden 60 mile highway trip, but I was not totally confident with it.

Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
So far I’ve just assembled it and took a quick test drive around the block. My initial thought is this thing is perfect. It’s super sturdy and easy to use. My only gripe and it’s not fault of the rack, but it’s heavy…
If you've done any research or read any of the other comments on either this rack, or this seller...rest assured they really are as good as everyone says! I ordered my rack on around 4pm est on a Friday afternoon and within an hour I received an email that said they have shipped my product AND upgraded to priority shipping. Can't say enough positive things about the customer service! When the rack arrived, it took me a little over half an hour to get it set up. Probably would e been faster if I were even slightly mechanically inclined (or if didn't I didn't have to borrow a socket wrench from my neighbor). We finally had an opportunity to load up the bikes and head out for a ride today. As others have said, the first time you load up your bikes, it's kind of like a puzzle to get them situated. Took about 15 minutes. This rack is awesome! Very sturdy and the bikes were very secure. Only racks I have had in the past were rooftop fork mount racks. This is so much easier! On e we got to the trail (over an hour drive) getting the bikes off was a piece of cake. Afterwards, it was time to load them back up and it was less than 5 minutes to get them all on and ready to hit the road. There were other 4-bike racks on the website, but this one had enough great reviews that I felt comfortable making the purchase. After the fact, I'm very glad I did! I can't imagine the $800 rack can be that much better than this, and I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a 4-bike platform rack. I will definitely recommend this rack and etrailer.com to everyone I know.

Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Matte Black
I've tried different brands and styles of racks over the years and the Kuat NV 2.0 Base Hitch Bike Rack is the one rack to rule them all. I was a little concerned by lack of a rear wheel cradle, but bikes are held securely without scratches or paint rub common with most racks. After a year of near daily use, I'm confident my bike is staying where I put it (always double check you've secured it properly). My 2003 Jeep Wrangler required a short hitch extension to clear the rear mounted spare, but even with that it's bomb proof!
Very high quality bike rack. So far very impressed. It was easy to put together and instructions were excellent. I will use on 2022 wrangler and it will require hitch extender. Also I had to remove front fenders on our e bikes to allow easy and secure hold on front tire.

Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
This product works very well for the type of bikes we got (Electra Townie men’s and woman’s). Not the best rack for the type of vehicle (2013 Jeep Wrangler). Unable to open back hatch to let dog out until the bikes are off the rack. First trip was 600 miles with bikes in tow and didn’t even know they were there. I love the fact that this is a American made product. I am happy with my purchase. Thanks to the support staff at etrailer it was a great experience
Great website. It was laid out very well with very helpful videos for their bike racks. The Safari bike rack fits perfectly on my 1999 Jeep Wrangler and for my 29" full suspension mountain bike.
Best 1997 Jeep Wrangler Spare Tire Bike Rack Options
Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best spare tire-mounted bike racks for the Jeep Wrangler. Here we have from Yakima the SpareRide. Here's the Thule Spare Me. And from Hollywood Racks, we have the SR1.Now all of the bike racks we have here have been designed to work with a very wide range of Wrangler Jeeps. Now the biggest fitment issue that you're typically going to have is with really large oversize tires. All of our racks are designed to work with the 33/1250 size, not too much over that.
Hollywood Racks SR2 Spare Tire Bike Racks Review - 1997 Jeep Wrangler
Today on our 1997 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks SR2. This is a spare tire mounted 2-bike rack. As you can see, it's of the hanging style. The part number on it HRSR2. It uses two rubber straps, forgot the word out there, two rubber straps to hold our bike into place. It does a good job of it, kind of like a chain link style, nice and flexible.
Thule Spare Tire Bike Racks Review - 1997 Jeep Wrangler
Today on our 1997 Jeep Wrangler we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Spare Me. This is a hanging spare tire-mounted 2-bike rack. Its part number is TH963PRO. As you can see, nice sturdy rack. It's one thing I really notice about it. Really the rack's not moving unless the vehicle's moving.
Saris Freedom Spare Tire Bike Racks Review - 1997 Jeep Wrangler
Today on our 1997 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to be doing a test fit rather of the Saris Freedom Spare Tire Mounted Bike Rack. This is a platform style rack as you can see. We've got three points of contact holding the bike, we have a front wheel strap, rear wheel strap and the frame cradle strap right here in the middle. All of these are operated with a cam buckle style release, see here you're going to have a, there is strap to where the teeth in that can catch on and something I do like about it is that we can actually use it as kind of a lever as well to kind of pull down and gain some extra strength there, some extra holding power. To release your bike, you'll release that strap and your two others. There is a nice little cabby there to tuck them down and to keep them out of the way.
Hollywood Racks Spare Tire Bike Racks Review - 1997 Jeep Wrangler
Today on our 1997 Jeep wrangler we're going to do a test fit on the Hollywood Racks SR 1. This is a spare tire-mounted hanging-style 2-bike rack. Its part number is HRSR1. As you can see, it's going to use a dual-arm design to hold our bike in place using two straps. We got a second mounting position here. Our cradles will be slightly adjustable but they're not going to be something that's going to move in and out without us actually wanting to move them.
What our customers are saying:
"The bike rack went together with ease. Everything was in the box, no missing parts. It was very stable on my first trip with it.Works well with womens bikes also. Delivery was prompt with no mishaps. Good job"
