You are correct that passenger and cargo weight inside a vehicle does reduce the trailer weight it can tow. A vehicle like your PT that is intended primarily to transport people may not have much trailer towing capacity if you have a full load of passengers and cargo.
I checked the online owner's manual for the 2005 PT Cruiser and the manual states (on page 242) the maximum trailer weight is 1000-lbs when the total weight of passengers, luggage and cargo is no more than 865-lbs. This is... view full answer...
No, it will not. The Yakima StageTwo Bike Rack for 4 Bikes item # Y75AR in gray or item # Y85AR in black has just enough clearance when tilted down.
We tested the 2 bike version of the Yakima StageTwo item # Y47VR on a Pacifica awhile back. It's the same bike rack without the extension. I have linked that review video below so you can see the clearance when the rack is tilted down. view full answer...
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98903 is rated for 400 lbs tongue weight and 4,000 lbs towing, but that looks to be more than what your 2018 Chrysler Pacifica is rated for. When I looked up the online manual for your vehicle it looks like your van is rated for the following depending on whether you have the trailer tow package or not:
With Trailer Tow Package
- Tongue Weight - 360 lbs
- Towing Weight - 3,600 lbs
Without Trailer Tow Package
- Tongue Weight - 149 lbs
- Towing... view full answer...
The rear hatch of your 2022 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid will come in contact with the front bike when the Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 4 Bikes item # Y02443-2 is tilted down. One thing to consider with the HoldUp is that even if you had full access with the rack tilted it's going to be extremely heavy to raise and lower with the weight of four bikes on it.
Instead of the HoldUp, I recommend the Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack item # Y02465. This hanging-style, 4-bike rack features a hinged arm... view full answer...
Yes, it is! The etrailer Hitch item # e98903 has been confirmed to fit all models of the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica including the plug in hybrid. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Chrysler with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver.
I have linked an installation video below to help you get this hitch set up.
Please note that Chrysler does not recommend towing with the hybrid models so you will want to refer to your owner's manual. This hitch is still great... view full answer...
Between the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C29UR and item # C13383, I recommend the item # C29UR because it doesn't hang down as much. Both hitches are confirmed to fit the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and have identical 4,000 lbs towing capacities. However, the item # C29UR has a completely concealed crossbar. This not only looks better but also helps with ground clearance. The rear end of your van already sits low enough. You really don't want to drop your hitch receiver down any lower than... view full answer...
While we have not installed the Hidden Hitch by Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT92GR on a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, we have mounted the similar Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76046-SK. As these are both manufactured by Draw-Tite with similar crossbars and mounting you will have a very similar hitch height. We measured the hitch height at 13" with the Draw-Tite receiver or 10-3/4" for ground clearance. Do note that your clearance may vary slightly due to condition... view full answer...
Yes, the Replacement Awning Extension Rod for Solera Slide-Topper Awning # LC3452072 that you referenced measures 3/4". I actually recently took this same measurement for another customer for the white version part # LC3452071 and I'm attaching the dimensional photo for you to reference. view full answer...
I went out and took the measurement on both hitches for you. The Draw-Tite, part # 76145, measures about 9 inches from the top of the wings where the hitch mounts to the vehicle's frame to the bottom of the collar around the receiver opening. The Curt, part # C13093, sits a lttle lower, the same measurement is about 10 inches.
I've attached pictures, as well as an install video for each hitch. view full answer...
Yes, it does! I checked with Curt and their item # C13383 hitch is confirmed to fit all models of the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica including the plug in hybrid. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver but like you said it is not recommended for towing. However, you can use it to transport accessories like a bike rack or a cargo basket.
I have attached a couple of pictures below along with an installation video so you can see what this hitch looks like when installed and how to get it set up. view full answer...
I checked with Thule and the max length from the mounting surface to the ends of the ropes on Thule hoist # TH572 is 200cm which in inches is 78.8 inches or about 6-1/2 feet. So from the bottom of the item on the roof of the vehicle that you need to hoist up to the mounting surface for the hoist cannot be further than that 6-1/2 feet.
Another possible option is to use a hoist such as # DL25727. Its cable is 50 feet long. view full answer...
When we installed the etrailer hitch part # e98903 on a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica we found that from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground the distance was 13 inches. You need to measure from the bottom of your coupler lip when the trailer is level down to the ground. The difference between these two dimensions is the rise/drop you need. view full answer...
I contacted the manufacturer that assembles the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4 Item # C12064 and they informed about the true measurements.
The hitch measures 9.56” from the frame rail to the bottom of the receiver tube. There are 6 mounting holes on the hitch, 3 on each side. Center to center on the two mounting holes closest to the rear of the vehicle is 42.25”. Center to center on the pair of mounting holes towards the front of the vehicle is 40.94”.

Your tow rating is your tow rating. You cannot increase it. When you are towing a trailer you are limited to the lowest maximum weight capacity of the system. In this case it does not matter if you add a trailer hitch with a maximum weight limit greater than 1,500 lbs. Since the tow rating of your 2018 Chrysler Pacifica is 1,500 lbs, this is the weight limit you must adhere to. I recommend looking for a light trailer unless you really need the trailer. In that case, you will need a different... view full answer...
Trailer tire speed ratings do use a letter code system. A tire rated L for speed means it can be operated up to 75 mph; a tire rated M for speed can be operated up to 81 mph. There are many other speed codes. A trailer tire that does NOT indicate any specific speed rating on its sidewall should be presumed to be rated for 65 mph. If your tires do not indicate a speed rating that is molded right into the tire's sidewall then you should go by what the trailer documentation says.

For the applications that we normally deal with we don't have a trailer hitch that has a 5,000 lb tongue weight capacity. The Pintle Hook part # C48004 does have a 5,000 lb tongue weight capacity though so if you have a heavy duty vehicle that was rated for that you'd be able to take advantage of that. view full answer...
