Tongue Weight Capacity for Pintle Hook part # C48004
Published 10/10/2018 >
Question:
I saw an expert say that the rated tongue weight of a Pintle hitch is 1/4 the total GWR. 5000 LBS Is there a class of hitch that can handle that kind of tongue weight?

Expert Reply:
For the applications that we normally deal with we don't have a trailer hitch that has a 5,000 lb tongue weight capacity. The Pintle Hook part # C48004 does have a 5,000 lb tongue weight capacity though so if you have a heavy duty vehicle that was rated for that you'd be able to take advantage of that.
