Hey Anthony,
It looks like there's a proprietary pigtail wire harness (p1072586) to connect to the factory plug behind the trim on the driver's side and the brake controller's wire harness. From what I can find some people say that it's included and should be found in the glove box and others state that Tesla's completely against giving them out to Model Y owners. I would check to see if you have it and if not reach out to Tesla. There's a couple of videos out there where people have... view full answer...
Our lightest hitch mounted cargo carrier is the Flint Hill Goods 22" x 49" Hitch Mounted Aluminum Cargo Carrier item # FHG59ZR. It weighs only 23 lbs and measures 49-1/4" long x 22-1/4" wide x 3-1/4" tall.
We've actually tested it out on a 2022 Tesla Model Y. I went ahead and linked the video we made below so you can see exactly what this cargo carrier will look like on your car. view full answer...
Hello Pete,
I have the perfect kayak carrier for your setup, the Thule Hull-A-Port Aero Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs (J-Style, Folding, Channel Mount) # TH849000.
While I don’t have a direct-fit database that confirms accessories for every vehicle, based on my research, your OEM Tesla Model Y crossbars are manufactured by Yakima and include integrated T-slots. That’s why the # TH849000 is an excellent choice, it mounts via the T-slot system rather than clamping around the bar, making... view full answer...
Hi Alexander,
I can help you figure out a replacement, but we have no way of knowing what wheel is on any specific trailer, and can't do anything with a VIN (as we don't have a database or anything to enter a VIN). I was able to find it had a 12 inch wheel though, so really all you need to know is your wheel bolt pattern, and then you can choose which wheel you want. It'll be either 4 on 4" or 5 on 4-1/2" and I've added links below to a help article on measuring your wheel bolt pattern... view full answer...
Harold, for your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 with a bare roof, I recommend going with the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack for Naked Roofs # TH96KG.
These crossbars measure 60" long, works with your bare roof, and would be a great fit with a 2-kayak carrier like the Thule Compass Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs # TH890000. view full answer...
Hey Antonio, thanks for reaching out!
For a trailer hitch I recommend the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH39FR and then for wiring you'll need the ZCI Wiring Kit # 119250KIT as none of the wiring manufacturers have a plug-in type of wiring kit at this point in time.
What are you planning on using the hitch for, and are you planning on doing the installation yourself? view full answer...
I sure do Jeff and congrats on the new Tesla! To add a hitch to your 2026 Tesla Model Y, I recommend the EcoHitch item # EH22HR. This hitch is brand new for your Tesla so you won't have to go through the dealership to get one.
The EcoHitch item # EH22HR is a custom fit class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a maximum tongue weight of 425 lbs. It'll work great for towing a trailer or hauling around an accessory like a bike rack or cargo carrier. It includes... view full answer...
Hello Pete,
Great question! I wasn’t sure at first, so I took a stroll out to the warehouse to check if things line up.
I’m sorry, but the Swagman Exo Aero Rooftop Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs – Saddle Style – Clamp On # S65145 will not work with the Stinger Load Assist for Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier # MPG350. Instead, you’ll want the Malone SeaWing Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs – Saddle Style – Clamp On # MPG107MD to pair with the # MPG350.
The Swagman # S65145 won’t work because its... view full answer...
Without knowing how much clearance you need from your hitch pin hole center to the rear of the bumper fascia I cannot know for sure which size will fit your 2021 Tesla Model Y. I do know on the Draw-Tite Receiver # DT58MR we found a 4" distance from the hitch pin center hole to the rear edge of the bumper. Based on this the Rapid Hitch # AM3411 having 4-1/2" from the hitch pin center hole to the nearest portion of the flange will clear. view full answer...
The Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock for Kuat Transfer Bike Racks # HLT is actually going to only work with Kuat bike racks and is not going to work with your Swagman e-bike rack.
The only compatible anti-rattle hitch pin is going to be the Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman Hitch Racks # S64029 that you already have. view full answer...
Hello Terry, thanks for reaching out. We do offer a trailer hitch for the 2024 Tesla Model Y, the EcoHitch # EH39FR. This is a class 3 hitch so it has a 2" receiver and a 3,500 lb max towing capacity.
As far as weight distribution, you CANNOT safely use a weight distribution system with this vehicle. Unibody vehicles cannot handle the stress caused by a weight distribution system. Also, the EcoHitch I mentioned cannot be used with a weight distribution system. As long as your Airstream... view full answer...
Hey Russ! I do have a roof rack for you but the crossbars are not going to be tear shaped. Due to the roof design of your 2020 Tesla Model Y the only roof rack option I have for you is the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack item # 298-SX6000B.
The SeaSucker Roof Rack item # 298-SX6000B comes with 48" long round bars with a 150 lbs capacity. They attach to your Tesla's roof with heavy duty suction cups like the ones you see glass glazers use to install large panes of glass.

Hello Andrew; you will have to check a few things to see if the Inno Shaper 100 Roof Cargo Basket # INXA569 will fit your 2023 Tesla Model Y. It fits in the top channels of your crossbars, so if you have channels on top it will probably work. See the picture below which shows the channel measurements. You also need a minimum crossbar spread of 20". If you meet these requirements it will fit your roof rack.
What will you be using the cargo basket for? view full answer...
Hello Larry,
Yes, we do have some dealers in the Jacksonville, FL area that do install hitches. For your 2021 Tesla Model Y the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # DT58MR will be a great fit! If you are looking for some wiring for some light towing or a hitch mounted accessory you will want the Curt T-Connector # C92ZJ. I attached a link to find an installed near you to schedule an install (it's down and the bottom of the page), just go to the link... view full answer...
Hey Darryl, great question! So we have the Saris MHS DUO Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # SAR73MR which can then be expanded up to a 4 bike with the 1 bike add on part # SAR78MR. Kids bikes can work on this rack as well as long as the wheel diameter is between 20 and 29 inch. view full answer...
Hello Jason, thanks for reaching out. I do have a potential solution for you, but we are not aware of a locking pin that is made specifically to be compatible with the hitch on a 2024 Tesla Model Y. Your Best option for this will be to use a lock with a swivel head design like the Master Lock # 1479DAT. This allows the face of the lock to stick straight back instead of off to the side which makes operating the lock much easier with limited clearance. The overall length of the lock is 5-3/8"... view full answer...
Hey Patrick, since your trailer wiring port isn't active you could take it to a Tesla dealer to have that port activated or you could install the Tekonsha part # TK92VR which would bypass that and instead installs by installing inline with the taillight connectors. view full answer...
Hey Gary! To find out if the 39x25 Inno Quick Base Cargo Carrier # IN92RR will fit your 2024 Tesla Model Y you will have to measure. The carrier requires at least 4-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the vehicle/bumper for clearance. You also need 1-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the opening on the receiver and 2" around the hitch pin hole for the knob as seen in the attached picture.
As long as you meet these requirements you will be able to use... view full answer...
Darren, you'd need one Replacement Vortex Strip for Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars per bar # RRM626, so a standard roof rack would require two. These rubber strips will absolutely correct that noise issue you're talking about since those c-channels would be covered up, and will work great with your crossbars. view full answer...
Hey Will! The weld on pipe mount diameter on both the item # TJDP-7000-B and item # TJDP-5000-FLB jacks is 2" on the inner and 2-1/2" on the outer. The mounting point on the jacks has diameters of 2-1/2" on the outer tube width and 2-1/4" on the inner tube width. The pin hole is slightly larger than 5/8" and takes a standard 5/8" pin like the item # TJD-7000-PN. view full answer...
