Question:

I have a 2023 Tesla Y with factory roof racks. The factory racks are smaller at the back than the front making it difficult to put standard kayak carrier on them. Do you have any suggested Kayak carrier that would attach to these factory Tesla Y roof racks? Thank you.

I have the perfect kayak carrier for your setup, the Thule Hull-A-Port Aero Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs (J-Style, Folding, Channel Mount) # TH849000.

While I don’t have a direct-fit database that confirms accessories for every vehicle, based on my research, your OEM Tesla Model Y crossbars are manufactured by Yakima and include integrated T-slots. That’s why the # TH849000 is an excellent choice, it mounts via the T-slot system rather than clamping around the bar, making it a secure and streamlined fit.

@PeteP Yes, the Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - Universal Mount - Gray # KU33VR will mount into the T-slots and will work just fine. I have learned with bike carriers and roof rack accessories that you definitely get what you pay for, Kuat is still a great brand, the engineering of the Thule products is just better.
