I can tell you John, I had the same concern when I installed a receiver on my Acura RDX. While my receiver did not entirely prevent the use of the kick sensor for the hands free liftgate it did limit the area I was able to kick due to the receiver. You will have the same issue on your 2024 Lexus RX 500h. Once you install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C29VV you simply need to test different areas around the receiver to figure out which area works best for the kick sensor.

Hey Phil! You do not need a factory tow package to install a wiring harness on your 2024 Lexus RX 350. You can use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK92KR. This plugs into the connection points in the rear cargo area and then a hot lead will run up to your battery. Once installed you will have a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights.

We haven't removed that style of sensor yet, but when I did some research into what that sensor looks like I was seeing that there are 2 screws and some guides that hold it in place. If you remove those 2 screws you should be able to slip the whole assembly loose so you don't cut it while you're trimming the fascia.

There's two options for trailer wiring that fit the 2013 Lexus RX 350. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # 56083 is designed for the models that have the factory tow package. It looks like you still have the dummy plug connected to your 2015 Lexus RX 350 to help protect the OEM connector. If you remove the one end of the plug (that you're holding onto) you'll be able to plug in the Curt T-Connector # 56083 just fine.
If you jump to the 1:20 minute mark on the attached video you'll see Randy remove that dummy plug (although it isn't highlighted like I'd like it to be).

That being said, the functionality will still be there, you'll just need to wave your foot around on either side of the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13337 receiver tube to find the sweet spot for the sensors.

Hi Chad; Hopkins has not lengthened the wires on their wiring harness # HM11143910. Knowing Hopkins I'm sure the thought is that you can drill holes to mount their bracket somewhere on the driver side. That or perhaps they originally intended to connect to the passenger side connectors and found it only works with the driver side. Either way they have left this as is without extending the wire.
