Both the Roadmaster and Blue Ox tow bars are great options. But if it was my decision to make I would go with the Blue Ox Avail part # BX7420 as we have found that the Blue Ox tow bars are a little easier to connect and disconnect from. Also this tow bar has a 10,000 lb weight capacity so it would easily cover basically anything. The Avail has longer arms too which helps the vehicle track a little better as well. view full answer...
Hey Christian, welcome to the world of RV-ing! So in addition to the Roadmaster Nighthawk # RM-676 you're also goin to need:
- A baseplate kit, like the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521453-5. These attach to the Jeep itself so you can hook up the tow bars.
- A braking system, like the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes # SM99251 with the stop light switch # RM-751490. This braking system is a bit more involved set-up wise, but once... view full answer...
Thanks for that photo, and since you have a bumper with D-ring attachments, you would not need base plates; in fact, base plates wouldn't be able to be installed, so instead you would need a bumper adapter that attaches to the D-ring attachments.
Your bumper does need to be rated for flat towing so you'll need to check with the manufacturer to ensure that if you're not certain, but if it is, and if the bumper has a 1" or 7/8" pin hole and the tab is 3/4", 7/8", or 1" then what you will... view full answer...
Thanks for reaching out to us here at etrailer. It looks like there might be some D-rings on your bumper. Is that correct? If so, do you know the measurement of those D-rings? You should be able to attach a photo to a response to this answer. view full answer...
There are a few differences between the Universal Installation Kit part # ETBC7 and the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit part # ETBC7L. The biggest one is that part # ETBC7 comes with both the power and brake output wire you will need to run to the cab/battery whereas the part # ETBC7L only comes with the power wire you will need to run to the battery. The reason for this is because part # ETBC7L is geared more towards wireless brake controllers like the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part... view full answer...
There are several vehicles that require you to disconnect the vehicle battery when flat towing. The solution then to power a braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is to use an outlet kit like the part # RM-9332.
This wire directly to the vehicle battery so that you can get power for the system directly while still allowing the vehicle battery to be disconnected. view full answer...
Hey Dellos, the Blue Ox base plate and tow bars are in my opinion the easiest to use and are also very well made so I would recommend the Blue Ox part # BX1139 with the tow bar part # BX7420.
Then for lighting the Curt kit part # C96JR is a very simple install so that would be a great choice as well.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle... view full answer...
Hey Bill! You can definitely install the Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 # RVI94FR in your 2025 Jeep Wrangler. Do you have your tow bar, base plate kit, and wiring already picked out? view full answer...
Thanks for your question, James.
Both the etrailer # e98948 and Demco # DM9519336 base plates will have a very similar, low-profile look once they’re installed, so neither one really stands out more than the other.
They’re both custom-fit for your Wrangler, and you’ll be able to retain your factory fascia and front air dam. There will be a bit of trimming involved during installation, but once everything is in place, especially with the removable arms taken out, you’re left with a really... view full answer...
We have all of the parts you need to flat tow your 2020 Jeep Wrangler, and while it may seem like a lot of parts, it's actually just four basic components - base plates on the Jeep, a tow bar to connect the Jeep to your motorhome, wiring to power your Jeep's lights while it is being towed, and a braking system. Here is a list of what you'll need:

Hey Wayson, so our best option that covers everything you need is going be with the Yakima OnRamp bike rack part # Y88DJ and the pivoting hitch adapter part # Y02483. This will give you an e-bike rack that will clear the rear spare of your Wrangler and when swung out will allow you to open the rear door. view full answer...
I spoke with my contact over at Roadmaster and have some things that you can check. When the Even Brake # RM-9400 pushes on the brake pedal 3 times what it is doing is making sure that it is receiving a brake signal from the cold side of the brake switch. If it does not detect the signal then it does exactly what you have described.
The brake signal it is looking for goes through terminal 1 on the Even Brake. What I would first check is that this circuit has 12 volts when the brakes are... view full answer...
The Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251 is going to be connected to your vehicle's battery to be powered which will drain your vehicle's battery. To keep the battery charged while towing you can install the BrakeBuddy Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Kit Item # BB54FR. You'll still be able to disconnect the negative battery cable like the manual indicates for flat towing. view full answer...
Yes, the Curt T-Connector # 56407 will require you to route a power wire from the black module box to the battery on your 2024 Jeep Wrangler.
I know it isn't convenient, but it's the best setup when it comes to a trailer wiring harness since this tees in behind your tail lights and then powers your trailer lights via the battery in your Jeep. The separate 12V power wire powers your trailer lights but also doubles as a way to protect the OEM wiring on your Jeep. view full answer...

The Battery Disconnect part # RM-766 installs on the positive battery wire so that when activated all power is cut for the vehicle. See attached chart.
What you would need to do is install the # RM-766 after the connection you have for your Brake Buddy so that it can still draw voltage when needed even if the # RM-766 is activated. view full answer...
Hey W, this is a good observation! So the etrailer base plate kit part # e98948 that you referenced would not work with the Blue Ox Acclaim part # BX4330 for the reason you mentioned. The tab width is too narrow.
So you would need to look into a different tow bar that fits this tab width like the Blue Ox Alpha # BX7380. This is generally the preferred style of tow bar that installs in a trailer hitch instead of attaching to a hitch ball like the Acclaim. Would that work or would prefer... view full answer...
