A wheel bearing failure can quickly become a dangerous situation. The Hub Saver helps keep the hub and wheel attached during an outer bearing failure, giving you time to safely pull off the road before the wheel separates from your trailer.
Regular bearing maintenance is the best way to prevent problems, but bearing failures still happen. Contamination, installation errors, impact damage, or component defects can cause an outer bearing to fail without much warning. When that happens, the hub and wheel assembly can separate from the spindle, creating a dangerous situation for your trailer and everyone sharing the road.
The Hub Saver is a patented safety device that helps keep the hub and wheel assembly attached during an outer bearing failure. Instead of immediately losing the wheel, you have an opportunity to slow down, move out of traffic, and stop in a safer location. The Hub Saver does not prevent bearing failure and does not replace proper bearing maintenance. Proper installation of the spindle nut, castle nut, cotter pin, or locking hardware remains critical, and the Hub Saver is intended only to help retain the hub and wheel assembly long enough to safely leave the roadway and make repairs.

Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at a neat little product called The Hub Saver. Now, this is a hub and wheel protector. It's going to fit eight-lug trailers, and this is designed to help prevent loss of your hub and wheel assembly in the event of an outer bearing failing on your trailer, camper, whatever. And this can help in a big way. So basically you're gonna install these behind the castle nut and behind that washer, and I'll put an image of the screen here just as an example.
And again, if you have a outer bearing failure, without this, that could potentially let your hub fall off and potentially your wheel and tire. So this will actually help you save money, one, not just from towing expenses, but insurance liability. God forbid you lose a tire and wheel and it hits another passenger or another vehicle, the damage and stuff, you would be responsible. So this is gonna reduce downtime. It's gonna reduce liability and save you money in the long run as well.
It's a very simple installation. Works with 7 and 8,000-pound axles with eight-lug hubs, and this fits race number 14276. We do carry these in multiple sizes for different size axles as well, so you can check them out separately here at etrailer. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.

Great product, easy install, peace of mind if I have a catastrophic bearing failure.
Just what I need to keep wheel hubs in place. Don’t want the damage having a wheel and hub coming off , that would make a bad day.
Have not taking out on the road yet since the installation, But it was an easy job .
