Hooking up your trailer doesn’t always line up cleanly with the vehicle connector. This Curt adapter gives you extra reach with a 96" cord, so you can connect confidently even when space is tight or the trailer plug doesn’t quite meet the bumper. It keeps everything tidy and strain-free between your vehicle and trailer.
When your tow vehicle has a 7-blade RV socket but your trailer runs a standard 4-flat, this adapter bridges the gap. It converts the 7-way connection down to a 4-flat, sending running lights, brake lights, and turn signals through instantly compatible ends.
No cutting wires or adding converters here. The plug-in design means you just connect the 7-way on your vehicle to the adapter, then plug your trailer’s 4-flat into the other end. It’s built to make wiring simple and clean so you can get towing without extra tools or electrical work.
Whether it’s a boat hauler, utility rig, or small camper, this universal-fit adapter works across different trailers that use a basic 4-flat connector. It’s a handy piece of gear to keep in your toolbox when towing with more than one setup.

Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And we're taking a quick look at the Curt wiring adapter. This is going to go from a 7-pole round to a 4-pole flat. So if your vehicle has the 7-pole round, your trailer has 4-pole flat, this is the wiring that you need to go in between them. It has that nice coil design, so it's going to keep the excess off the ground, keep it from dragging and getting damaged, and just help to keep it more taut as you're going down the road.Whenever it's fully extended, it measures about 96 inches long.
Let's take a little closer look, I'll show you the ends as well. Now, again, since this is going to go into our 4-pole flat, this gives us our four main functions. That's going to be stop, turn, and taillights. That turn is for both sides left and right, so that's how we get our four. So stop, brake lights, turn left and right turn signals, and then your running light signal.
So that's our four main wiring signals. You can see if there's only four terminals that are used in our 7-pole. So that's going to correspond with our four on the flat side. It's a durable, molded plastic construction on either end. So that should resist any kind of corrosion, but it's never a bad idea to get some dielectric grease and put it on either end here, just to keep a water barrier on those terminals. Helps them to last a lot longer.
Helps to eliminate any kind of corrosion buildup inside those terminals. And you can get dielectric grease here at etrailer.com. It is sold separately. But just a little dab will do you on either end. And it just helps to maintain that wiring quite a bit longer. That's pretty much all there is to it for our quick look at the Curt connector adapter.
I hope that this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. We do have a lot of other wiring and trailer accessories here at etrailer.com. And as always our goal to get you the information you need to make the right choice the first time. So again, I hope this helped and thanks for watching..
