Wiring a trailer doesn’t have to mean tearing into your vehicle’s electrical system. The Curt T-Connector plugs right into the factory tow package connection under the rear center of the vehicle. There’s no splicing or modifying wires—just connect the plug and you’ve got a working 4-flat trailer connector ready for towing lights.
This harness powers the trailer’s running lights, turn signals, and brake lights through the standard 4-flat connector. It’s designed so the vehicle’s own lights continue to operate normally whether or not a trailer is connected, letting you tow with confidence that everything works as it should.
When wiring through the factory tow package, setup is straightforward. The Curt 56073 uses existing fuse and relay slots—three relays in positions 29, 30, and 31, plus two 20-amp mini fuses in positions 46 and 52—to activate the tow circuit. That keeps everything neat and integrated within the factory system.
The 4-pole flat connector is a tried-and-true standard for small and mid-size trailers. Just what I was looking for. Bought a 2004 Freestar that had a hitch, but no connector for brakes. Found the OEM connection underneath but couldn't find anything at the auto stores to convert it to 4 Flat, looked everywhere. Thanks etrailer!
it was easy to install it came with all the parts needed and it had pull thought tool for the hidden bolts and the wiring harness came with connector grease
I like that the harness plugged into existing vehicle wiring harness. It took 5 minutes at most to install. [Retailer] wanted around $65 To install!!! I didn't take pics, it's easily imagined!!
