Question:

Hello, I recently installed a hitch on my 2004 Mercury Monterey however, having a difficult time getting the proper wiring. I was told by the Ford dealer locally that their wiring harness is no longer available. But, in the power distribution box under the hood, has the proper 3 mini relays and the 2 20a fuses your videos mention. My van has the front and rear sensors, so cant tell whether I have the shown plug in the frame. Can you help me please? thank you.

If your 2004 Mercury Monterey has the 3 relays and 2 fuses installed then chances are good that it also has the tow package plug-in connector to mate with 4-pole harness # 56073. But if you are not sure you can still install a 4-pole harness by using kit # C56673. This harness comes with the needed relays to activate the plug on the back of your Monterey.

This 4-pole harness will provide stop, turn and tail light signals for a 4-pole-equipped trailer.
