What Is The Difference Between SumoSprings SSR-307-47 And SS67UJ

Updated 06/02/2026 | Published 05/27/2026

Question:

I have a question about the SumoSprings solo custom helper springs product number ssr-307-47 and product number ss97uj. The mounting system looks to be the only difference and why did they change it? Thanks Russ

Yeah, those two kits use the same SumoSpring, the real difference is the mounting hardware. The # SSR-307-47 is the older design, while the # SS97UJ is the updated version with a revised bracket setup. SuperSprings changed the mounting system to make the installation cleaner, improve fitment on newer chassis, and get more consistent engagement between the spring and the axle.

Performance-wise, you're not gaining or losing anything. The spring itself is doing the same job in both kits: controlling squat, reducing sway, and helping stabilize the load. The newer bracket design is simply a better way of mounting the spring to the vehicle. If both part numbers fit your application, I'd lean toward the # SS97UJ because it's the newer kit and benefits from those mounting improvements, but you're not looking at a difference in load support or ride control between the two.

Oh and to answer the other question you sent in, the listed weight rating is for the pair of springs.

What kind of trailer do you usually haul?
