Heavy trailer, camper, or bed loads can leave your truck squatting and less controlled. These air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of leveling support to reduce sag, sway, and bottoming, while internal jounces let you run 0 psi unloaded.
Typical Alpha HD Pro installation shown. Vehicle-specific brackets vary by application.
When trailer weight, a slide-in camper, or a heavy bed load settles your truck onto its rear suspension, squat and extra body movement can make the truck feel less controlled. The two adjustable rear air springs add supplemental support to help reduce sag, sway, and bottoming while letting you tune the suspension to the weight you're carrying. With up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity, you can add only the pressure the load calls for instead of treating maximum pressure as the default. Your truck can sit closer to level and remain more controlled while carrying or towing substantial weight.
A truck that tows one day and runs empty the next doesn't need the same rear-suspension support all the time. Internal jounce bumpers let you add air when your trailer, camper, or cargo is aboard, then reduce the air springs to 0 psi once that load comes off. Those internal jounces also protect the air springs against bottoming when suspension travel is used up. You get the support your truck needs under weight without having to keep air in the bags simply to protect them when you're driving empty.
Suspension hardware lives where road spray, dirt, and weather reach it, so material choices matter underneath your truck. This kit uses braided stainless steel air lines along with stainless steel fittings, Schrader valves, roll plates, and mounting hardware to add corrosion resistance throughout key parts of the system. That extra durability is focused where it matters, helping the hardware you rely on for load support and pressure adjustment stand up to the environment beneath a working truck.
You'll start by measuring your truck's stock ride height before raising the rear, removing the wheels, and taking out the factory jounce bumpers. The air spring assemblies mount between the frame and axle, with some ABS-line and emergency-brake cable hardware repositioned to provide the clearance the springs need. Trucks without a fifth-wheel bracket alongside the frame use upper U-bolts, while that style of fifth-wheel hardware requires drilling mounting holes for the upper brackets. Once everything is aligned and torqued, you'll install the passenger-side exhaust heat shield, then route the braided stainless steel air lines with enough clearance and slack for suspension movement before mounting the Schrader valves where they're easy to reach. Adding air bags is a job experienced DIYers can handle, but if you would rather leave it to a professional, we can help you find an installer near you.
The included Schrader valves give you everything you need to adjust the air springs manually, but pulling out an external compressor can get old if your towing or hauling setup changes frequently. You can add a Pacbrake Bravo Wireless Air Control Kit (sold separately) to adjust pressure from your phone, check live pressure, and save presets for loads you come back to regularly. Also, you'll be able to choose between filling both air springs together or controlling them independently when the load isn't even side to side. It's an optional upgrade, but one that makes the adjustable part of an air-spring system much easier to use regularly. And it's not the only solution available. There are a variety of compressor options from Pacbrake that might be the perfect fit for your setup.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Pacbrake Alpha HD Pro rear axle airbag suspension kit with internal jounce bumpers and stainless steel hardware. Now, this has been designed to fit the vehicles that you see there on your screen. As you can see, these are gonna fit the early 2000 to mid 2000 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado 1500s and the different models therein. So because of the various fits here and because these are custom fit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle and answer any other questions that it might have for you, and our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.
So as you know, when the load gets heavy, your truck's gonna need more than just your rear factory springs hanging on for dear life. These airbags are gonna give you up to 5,000 pounds of rear axle support, and that's gonna help keep your truck level and steady even when the trailer is loaded and your bed is packed and the miles are long. So, these are gonna help you not to worry about any more rear end sagging, throwing off your braking or steering, or headlights pointing up into the sky. Now, bottoming out doesn't just feel rough. That can actually damage your airbags.
That's why this system includes jounce bumpers inside of each bag. So even with no air pressure, your suspension has a built-in safety net. You can safely run at zero PSI when unloaded, which means no harsh rebound, just that smooth factory style ride. So this kit includes these stainless steel braided air lines, which are gonna be more durable and resistant to wear compared to standard rubber lines. You're also gonna get these stainless steel roll plates which are gonna help protect the airbags along with rear valves so you can easily inflate or adjust the air pressure using a standard air source.
Now, on your screen, I'm showing you all the hardware that you're getting. I didn't have room to lay it all out on my table here. The top picture there shows you the standard hardware, but then the bottom picture shows you the stainless steel upgrade kit that's also included with this. So as you can see, this is going to come with that upgraded kit. And stainless steel components are a big upgrade, because they're built to last in harsh conditions.
That stainless steel's going to resist rust and corrosion a whole lot better than standard materials. It's also stronger and less prone to damage, so you're gonna be less likely to deal with leaks and wear over time. Now, these air springs are gonna give you full control over ride height and firmness with adjustable air pressure from 5 to 100 PSI. So if you're hauling a fifth wheel or a full bed of gravel, you can crank that pressure up. And then when you're unloaded and heading home, drop it down for a softer ride. These springs are built with one inch thick corrosion resistant end caps. They're reinforced with 20 internal support wires for maximum strength under a load. And these precision laser cut brackets are designed to bolt cleanly to your truck's existing mounting points without welding or drilling to your frame. They are powder coated, so they're gonna hold up really well for you. So again, you're going to get up to 5,000 pounds of additional leveling support. Just remember that these airbags do not actually increase your truck's weight carrying capacity, so you wanna make sure you're not exceeding your manufacturer's recommended weight limit. One final note, if you would like help with installation, on this product page, we have a link underneath the photo section that will take you to our installer locator. Just answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer that etrailer has partnered with in your area to do the install for you. Well, if you happen to have any other questions, let us know. We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.

I am very sorry to hear that these did not work for you John. I see on both the Pacbrake site and our site they are listed to not work with the Adaptive Ride Control, do you have that on your Silverado 1500? I am trying to get to the bottom of this so I can get the information corrected on both sites if needed.
