Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Pacbrake Alpha HD Pro Air Bag Suspension Kit with Internal Jounce Bumpers. Folks, these are for the rear axle, rated 5,000 pounds. They are a custom fit application for the Nissan Titan XD so make sure you're checking the fit guide here at etrailer.com. Be sure you're getting the right parts the first time. Now as you can see, I've got most of the kit here preassembled on the table, but not everything 'cause I didn't have space, so.
I did want to show you an image of the parts that are come with it in the bottom right hand corner of that image. So all the nuts, bolts, hardware, plates, the brackets as I have here before me, the bags, all that stuff, the air line, the air line cutting tool, everything's included. It's gonna come in the box. I just don't have it all here on the table today due to space. And of course, in the top left hand corner there, you gotta cutaway with that internal jounce in orange color there that you can see.
So obviously you're not gonna be able to see that here because it is internal. So, what that's doing is, in conjunction with these bags, it's gonna reduce rear end sag, sway and bounce, giving you a better handling of the vehicle under a load. It's also gonna give you a smooth ride when you're unloaded as well because that internal jounce bumper is gonna protect the ride quality without having air bags in there. Now that being said, the installers have told me over the years, if you are the type of person that has lots of weight in your truck bed all the time, whether you're pulling a camper, trailer or anything, like maybe a heavy toolbox, maybe an in bed camper, these are great. If you don't have all that extra weight in there all the time, you might not want to go with this set, with the internals.
You might wanna go with the set without the internals to give you a smoother ride when you're unloaded as well because remember that jounce is going to act as a kind of a stopper, if you will, and not let it go as far on the suspension. So, it could give you a more stiff ride when you're not loaded, again. So just keep that in mind, something to think about. As far as the internal pressure, you can go between five to a hundred PSI, depending on your load. This is a complete kit, no drilling required at all, or minimal.
Sorry, you may have minimal drilling required. I was looking through the instructions. I didn't see too much. I think it is enlarge a hole or something, but don't quote me on that. That being said, everything here is laser measured, laser cut as far as the brackets, all your push connect fittings. Everything has been designed to give you the easiest installation that you could possibly get. Now, this is just a manual inflation set. You will be manually inflating the bags. You can inflate them independently depending on how you route the hoses and how you do the plumbing, as far as the air lines. Now, you can eventually, or now if you want, sold separately, get an upgrade and go to an onboard air compressor and kit. That would give you a remote control and you can inflate 'em from inside the cab of your truck if you so choose. Again, that's optional, it's sold separately. The brackets are not built heavy enough
good product , good strong solid metal parts and heavy bags. The instructions were not so hot but was easy to figure out and quick delivery !
Easy install. Will pull trailer 3000 miles on vacation and see how it performs to Montana on highways and Forest Service roads.
Where to start I have 1500 pounds of tools in my 150 Chevy had them installed and it totally changed the ride and handling of the truck haven’t pulled anything yet but I’m amazed on how different the truck is already I Baught the ones with the bump stops in them the HD ones

My experience with loading my truck and seeing the difference with these air bags from PacBrake, it does look way better and the truck feels a bit more stable running atspeed limit (65mph) after that it does feels jumpy if you go over potholes, but overall I'm happy with the product, thanks Etrailer,
2020 Ram 1500.
Installation is fidgety with lining everything together for the upper bracket with u-bolt(reason for 4 stars), but still preferred over cutting the bump stop mounts off. Replaced the Timbrens with this and it is night and day difference in ride quality both unloaded and towing.
Would purchase again.
Product is well constructed and installation is straightforward. But you cannot build the kit and slip it in, you have to leave the top bracket off and install it after setting the lower bracket and air bag in place. I will note, I was working off jack stands and a floor jack, not on a lift.
