When your truck is working harder under tow, factory brakes can feel slower to respond. This rear brake upgrade kit pairs severe-duty pads with rotors that manage heat and deliver strong initial bite, so repeated stops stay smooth and predictable.
Adding trailer weight changes how your truck responds when you press the brake pedal, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. These brake pads use a severe-duty, low-metallic friction formula that delivers a strong initial bite, while the matched rotors use OEM-style vanes to help manage the added heat towing creates. Together they give your truck a more immediate, predictable braking response that stays consistent through repeated stops.
Brake vibration often traces back to uneven rotor machining or inconsistent braking surfaces, especially after repeated heat cycles. The rotors use computer-controlled castings with fly-cut, mill-balanced construction and meet or exceed OE specifications for machining tolerances. A non-directional cross-hatch finish promotes even pad bed-in, helping your brake service start with uniform contact and maintain smooth pedal feel as your truck accumulates miles.
New brake components require a break-in period before they deliver their intended performance. These brake pads use positive mold manufacturing to produce consistent density and precise dimensions, then add a bed-in coating that improves initial pedal feel and shortens the break-in process. Multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help limit the extra noise commonly associated with high-bite low-metallic pads, so your truck delivers responsive braking without unnecessary chatter.
Road spray, moisture, and winter conditions often leave exposed brake components looking rough long before the friction surface wears out. The G3000 premium raw iron rotors use an OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and edges to help reduce rust on exposed non-friction surfaces. Your rotors stay looking better between services without affecting braking performance.
Replacing brake rotors is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you would rather leave it to a professional, find an installer near you.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Timbren rear wheel BES brake upgrade kit. Now this kit has been designed to fit your 2019 to current Ram 3500 with the high output transmission and on custom fit parts such as this kit. I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer, type in the year, make and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you. And our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, as you know, upgrading your suspension on your truck will improve the ride quality.
It's going to help reduce sag, and it's going to make your truck feel more stable while towing or hauling. However, it doesn't reduce the extra workload that are being placed on your factory brakes. So if you ever felt like your truck was taking longer to stop when you're towing a heavy load or a heavy trailer, or maybe your brakes are wearing out faster than you expected, or that added weight is making your braking feel less confident, that's where this BES brake upgrade kit is going to come into play. This kit is designed to give your truck stronger, more consistent braking when it's carrying those heavier loads. These low metallic onyx bike brake pads are going to give you that strong initial bite and eliminate brake fade that occurs with frequent stopping when towing.
So you're going to notice more confident, consistent braking performance on every road trip. On the other side here, we have these multi-layer rubber shims. They're going to help stabilize the brake pads during braking. On your screen, I'm giving you a close up of what one of those shims look like, just giving you a better look at that multi-layered construction. That under photo there shows you a better look of the brake pad by itself without that shim installed on it.
So I just wanted to give you a closer look. Ultimately, these shims are going to reduce vibration. It's going to keep brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing braking performance. So these positive molded pads paired with these precision balance rotors are going to give you smooth, even braking and a more consistent pedal feel. Speaking of the rotors, these are OEM style vented rotors, and they're going to help dissipate heat during that repeated stopping to reduce brake fade when you're towing.
These are premium G3000 raw iron rotors, and they feature Timbren's OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, veins, and outer edges. So as you know, heat is indeed the enemy of brakes. So this OnyxBond coating has a heat threshold of 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about 67% better than the standard GEOMET coating, most commonly used on other OEM parts. This coating's also going to help protect the rotors from rust caused by road spray, moisture, and winter driving, keeping your brakes looking cleaner between surfaces without affecting braking performance. If you notice these blue stripes here on the pads, that's the bed end coating and that's going to transfer to the rotor to protect it during the first stops. So you're going to be able to enjoy consistent braking performance sooner after installation. So this kit includes everything that you see here. Insulation's going to be relatively straightforward. However, if you're not too excited about doing the installation yourself, that's okay because on this product page underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the install. So if you've already upgraded the suspension on your truck for that smoother, more controlled ride, this is going to compliment that suspension upgrade by giving your truck that stopping power and confidence that you're looking for to better handle the extra weight of towing and hauling. Together it's going to give you a more safe, a more capable towing experience and set up. I think it's going to wrap up our look today. Again, they call me Andy, thank you for joining me.
