Features to know about

Effortless Installation: Bolt-On Design

Installing a hitch can be a daunting task, but the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver makes it easy with its bolt-on installation process. No drilling or welding required, the hitch uses existing mounting holes on your vehicle's frame for a seamless setup. Whether you're a novice or an experienced installer, you'll appreciate the simplicity. All the necessary hardware and detailed instructions are included, ensuring you can get the job done without professional help.

Corrosion-Free Towing: Gloss Black Powder Coat Finish

Keeping your hitch in pristine condition is key, especially if you're in an area with harsh weather conditions. This hitch is crafted from powder coated steel that is both sturdy and resistant to corrosion. The gloss black finish over a protective base coat not only provides superior rust resistance but also gives your vehicle a sleek, finished look. You can tow confidently, knowing your hitch is built to withstand the elements.

Tailored Fit for Your Ride: Custom Fit Design

Generic hitches can be hit-or-miss when it comes to vehicle compatibility. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is specifically designed to be a custom fit for certain vehicles, ensuring a perfect match. This custom fit means you're not only getting a hitch that fits well, but also one that aligns perfectly with your vehicle's aesthetics and functionality. You'll enjoy a neat, precise integration without compromising on performance.

High-Capacity Hauling: Class III Rating with 3,500 lbs GTW and 525 lbs TW

When planning to haul heavy loads, having a hitch that can handle the demand is crucial. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver boasts a Class III rating, offering 3,500 pounds of gross trailer weight and 525 pounds of tongue weight capacity. Whether you're hauling bikes, luggage, or more substantial loads, this hitch has the muscle to support your adventures. You'll have peace of mind knowing your hitch is up to the task.

Unobtrusive Appearance: Concealed Cross Tube

Keeping your vehicle's original look intact while adding functionality can be challenging. The concealed cross tube design of this hitch ensures that it remains largely out of sight, preserving the vehicle's sleek appearance. Without the bulky look of some other models, this hitch allows you to maintain the seamless style of your vehicle while enhancing its utility.

Secure Accessory Fit: 2-Inch Receiver Opening

Having flexibility with the accessories you can use is a huge advantage. The 2-inch receiver opening on this hitch is industry-standard and offers you a wide array of options for bike racks, cargo carriers, and more. This means you have the freedom to choose the accessories that best meet your needs without worrying about fit issues.

Excellent service and arrived one day e arly.

by:

Perfect fit. Excellent directions. Great price!

by:

Great hitch, fit perfectly. Better instructions would be nice.

by:

Ordered over a holiday weekend, and it arrived in time for the next weekend install ! Etrailer had a good tracking system in their order confirmation response. Box took it tough, but no damage to the heavy duty hitch or bag of bolts.

by:

I was able to install this by myself in about an hour.

by:

This went in perfectly after a little bit of cutting! Excellent shipping and packaged well!

by:

Tucks up under the bumper nicely and was an easy install. We installed this on a 2022 Niro plug in hybrid. As others have mentioned, this will fit with just a little trimming on the hitch mount where it contacts the bit of unibody that is only present on the plug in hybrid.

by:

No problems with installation.

by:

My Hitch install went very smoothly. It was much easier elevated 8" on ramps, wheel chocks & with safety stands. I took my time cleaning & lubing the 4 mounting holes. Use the TIPs trailer has. I had a tap set but didnt bother. Used a bolt I slotted to cleanout the bolthole threads.

The fish wires made things a lot easier than tape. You can also use 2 plastic clips that hold bread bags closed.

I found 2 different sets of instructions, 1 for a shiny Hitch & another for the exact same Hitch in matte black. The longer procedure had more info but is only needed for a total newbie.

The Hitch was a perfect fit & the install was a breeze.

by:

This is the only place i could find hitch for my car. It was delivered very fast. Installation only took about 30 minutes. Looks and works great.

by:

Have bought several notches and one wiring harness from etrailer, all were easy to install and have worked very well! Instructions are simple and they tell you up front the estimated time and difficulty level of installation. Prices are great too!

by:

It was a good fit and very easy. The hardware was all there. I liked the fish wire for the bolts. There was only one piece of plastic on my 2022 Kia Niro that needed cut/trimmed. It was very fast and etrailer was great about keeping me updated on the order status. I will definitely order from etrailer again if we need a hitch in the future.

by:

The hitch went on easily and came with everything I needed to install it. The fit was good and bike rack fits snugly. I was surprised to see that after about a year, the steel around the sleeve of the hitch had begun to rust, peeling the paint and flaking the top layer of metal. I live in New England, so I expected it to rust eventually, but it happened a lot faster than I thought it would. I would suggest that anyone living in areas with high road salt use be sure to grease and rinse the hitch regularly. I didn't, and it's coming back to haunt me.

by:

I've had this hitch for my 2019 Kia Niro Plug-In hybrid for about a year.

The fit was a bit tight, and I needed to spread the ends a few millimeters in order to get the hitch to slide in place. Once I spread the ends though, the hitch slid nicely in place, taking about 15-30 min to install.

I've been using it for my Kuat bike rack most days since, and love the way the hitch looks and works!

My brother recommended etrailer when I decided to purchase a hitch kit for my 2019 Kia Niro. I plan to haul at least two dirt bikes and likely my camping gear from time to time. My need was sparked by spring cleaning when I realized how much junk needed hauled out of my life. I was impressed at how easy and accurate the search tool and the filters were. I found my make and model and the products that fit my vehicle so easily I was truly amazed. I immediately noticed that every product that etrailer sells had a list of very detailed reviews, installation videos, recommended tools and lots of other information. I purchased a Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" and a T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. I watched the accompanying video for the hitch installation one time all the way through. I was able to gather all the tools and get my vehicle set in just a few minutes. I revisited the video three or four times throughout the process. The hitch went on just as smoothly as the video showed and I am confident that it will reliably haul exactly what its rated for. The hitch fits nicely and is tucked safely below the fascia where you won't wack your ankles on it. It is clean, sturdy and rust resistant. I look forward to my first haul. I have yet to install the wiring harness but only because I ran out of time over the weekend. I will update my review when I have completed the installation of the wiring harness.

by:

This is a great product and was so easy to attach with the videos provided that are specific to my vehicle. It took longer to gather tools and jacks and get the 4-legged "helpers" out of the way than the actual installation (1 hour from start to finish). This thing is HEAVY DUTY, so having an extra set of hands to hold it in place while you start the bolts is a real effort saver. You don't want to drop it because a furry creature is licking you in the face, just saying. Company service is second to none, I would recommend to anyone adding a hitch to their vehicle.

by:

Hitch worked fine. It was delivered promptly. I got it to use with an e-bike carrier, which I leave permanently on the car -- bought a year ago and have had no issues. I had our local garage install the hitch.

2017 Kia Niro

Great price, quick free delivery. I would have give it a five star but it had too many areas that showed the metal part and it was very, very dirty! It came with all that is needed to install it! I did it by myself and I used the box it came in and a Jack to put it on! Good purchase.

  • Does Curt Hitch # C13329 Fit 2019 Kia Niro Hybrid
The Curt hitch part # C13329 is not listed as a fit for the Plug In Hybrid versions of the 2019 Kia Niro although we had one customer come back and say they were able to install it on a plug in version but they had to modify the hitch and the vehicle to do so.

  • 2019 Kia Niro Ex Hitch Recommendation
I checked with Curt and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13329 is a confirmed fit for the non-PHEV version of the 2019 Kia Niro like what you have so this would work well for you. It's a Class III hitch with a 2 inch opening and has a concealed crosstube so it's less visible than other hitches. If you need trailer wiring too we have the T-One kit part # 118749 would be what I recommend. It's a custom fit that won't require any splicing and it has the most reliable converter box of all...

  • 2021 Kia Niro Hybrid Tralier Hitch Recommendation
Yes, our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e33AR that fits your 2021 Kia Niro Hybrid is designed the same as the Curt alternative # C13329. The only difference is the Curt has a glossy black finish while our hitch has a matte black finish. I prefer the matte black finish because it's a little more muted and matches with black trim on vehicle better, plus this finish is a little more resistant to scratches from road debris than the glossy type. The Draw-Tite Hitch # DT79YR does have a lower...

  • Is the Saris SuperClamp HD # SAR44VR a Good Bike Rack to Use with My Lectric 2.0 E-Bike with Fenders
I have a great alternative bike rack for your Lectric 2.0 XP 3-inch fat bike. Unfortunately, with your fenders and rear platform, I do not recommend the Saris SuperClamp HD 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches # SAR44VR because the wheel-mount ratcheting hooks will increase the risk of damage or cracking to your fenders during transport. With that being said, the safest way to transport your bike via a hitch is by a frame-mount attachment method. For a great alternative, I recommend the...

  • Will The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver C77NR Fit a 2022 Kia Niro Plug In Hybrid/PHEV?
Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C77NR will fit your 2022 Kia Niro Plug in Hybrid. The fitment headers were created as we do have the Receiver # C13329 that will not fit the PHEV or EV. Since the Receiver # C77NR does fit all models of the Niro it carries all 3 of the fits(EV, excluding Plug-In Hybrid and EV, Plug-In Hybrid).

I do have a great option for you, however there isn't a trailer hitch available that's designed to fit your 2019 Kia Niro PHEV (plug-in Hybrid). With this in mind your best option for transporting a couple bikes is with a trunk-mount bike rack. For this I highly recommend the Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack # Y02634, which is confirmed to fit your vehicle. Hey there Don; the Curt # C13329 and etrailer # e33AR are the only 2" hitches confirmed to fit your friends 2018 Niro Hybrid. These hitches are compatible with the standard hybrid, which it sounds like your friend has, just not the PHEV or EV. They share the same design so the exhaust shield will need to be removed on both. Exhaust shield and heat shield removal is fairly common for hitch installations. This won't damage the vehicle or impact performance. Trimming of the splash guard...

  • Removing The Heat Shield To Install The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver On The 2017 Kia Niro.
I talked to my contact at Curt Manufacturing and they advised me that when installing Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13329 to your 2017 Kia Niro, the heat shield needs to be removed to reach the access points to bolt the hitch to the frame of the car. Removing the shield, and then installing the hitch, will not compromise the integrity of your vehicle. Many vehicles require the heat shield to be removed to complete this install.

Unfortunately at this time there are currently no Trailer Hitch Receivers that are confirmed to fit your 2021 Kia Niro that is a Plug-in Hybrid.
