What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this UWS Standard Chest toolbox. So we're gonna be putting it on this flat bed. This will be great for helping you organize tools. You can get more than one. If you wanna put one on the other side too.

It's just gonna help you keep your stuff locked up and organized. Let's check it out. Now, today we're gonna have it on this flat bed. You can use it on a regular truck. Just, if you put it up towards the front regular truck, it'd be harder to access.

You'd have the climb in the bed to get to the toolbox. So if that's what you wanna do with it you can still do that, but we're putting it on the flat bed just 'cause it's gonna be easier to access right here from the side, to pop it open and get into it to help keep your tools organized. Which there is compartments on the side, but the problem with that is sometimes they're not big enough. And if you stack stuff up like this, open it, it can fall out. At least this is all contained in here and you can stack it all the way up to the lid.

Open it up, you can see the strut doesn't catch 'til you get it about that much open. So just to show you from the start, I pulled the latch here. It won't pop open until about here. It holds itself up and then you can just probably hit it a little bit to fully open that way. Just wanted to point that out with that strut.

Now you can replace that too if anything was damaged, if you're stacking anything too high up in here. Let's say you set a bucket or something in here, went to close it and the strut hit 'cause it's right here in the center. You gotta be careful. You can get a replacement. I would just measure from this eyelet to this one here and look at the force pounds on there and get one from our site to replace it. Just wanted to show you setting a bucket in there. It can handle the bucket, no problem. But here in the center, you'll see that the strut is gonna make contact with that bucket. So any more further, and we could damage that strut. So not a huge deal because you can just shift it over too, to the side away from that strut. And then you can close the lid, no problem. Just something to think about when you load up your toolbox because if you do stops and stuff, and anything loose could shift over and get right there. So that's just something to think about. Then the inside the toolbox the internal dimensions are gonna be 28 and 1/2 inches long and it's gonna be 15 inches tall. The internal height from the bottom of the tray, it's gonna be 11 inches as well. Inside the truck box, it's gonna be 30 inches long by 11 and 1/4 inch tall and 19 inches deep. Inside the toolbox we have these ledges. So right here, it's gonna be 19 inches from here to there but from the ledge, it's gonna be 17 inches. So it takes up just a little bit From the back of the box, the lid's gonna stick up about two inches. Not such a big deal on this flat bed we're opening it in. But if you we're to use it in a truck and push it towards the cab, you'd have to bring it out just a little bit to open up that lid. Got a stainless steel handle that operates the latch. So you just pull on that and that opens up the box. Up on the lid itself, we have a striker. So that's gonna be adjustable too, if you loosen both of these, you can slide this side to side. So as time if you slam lid over and over and over, maybe it doesn't close just right. You can adjust that to fix it so it opens and closes like new. The lid has this foam strip, it goes around the outside. That's gonna help keep the elements and dust out of the toolbox. The lid is also injected with foam. So not only does it insulate the box but helps the lid keep its structure at the same time. Now a thing, when you bring the lid down, I like that it doesn't just stop here. It actually comes down a little bit more. We see how much more that lid comes down. So that's gonna help prevent elements from going up and in the box. The toolbox itself is a diamond plate aluminum. Now the diamond plate on there adds a nice texture because it's gonna help hide the scratches and maybe prevent a few too. The other thing with it is it's aluminum. So you don't have to worry about it staying on your truck, out in the elements. It's gonna be just fine, it's not gonna rust or corrode. When it comes to mounting it you're gonna have to buy the hardware kit separately. And now you're gonna anchor all four corners of the toolbox. Just be careful and looking on your truck where you're gonna drill it or mount it to make sure there's nothing underneath you're gonna regret drilling through. Overall, I think this is a good toolbox to have. It works really well on this flatbed. Now there's different versions of the toolbox though. Go better on the flatbed, maybe. You need a little bit more longer toolbox, they make ones that come out a little bit more and just take up more space on the side. But if you only need a little bit more space to keep a few more tools organized and up here, instead of in the side cabinets, maybe it falls out all the time. This is gonna do a good job of storing those and keeping 'em locked up so nobody can mess with 'em. Well I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and hope is helps..
