Simply spread the claw around a trailer tire, close it so that it grips the tire, and screw in the lock to secure the unit. Can be keyed alike to match other Blaylock EZ Wheel locks.First I must say etrailer is great to work with. Customer service 2nd to none!! Now the wheel lock: Looks nice and works OK. I’m still not convinced it is securely attached to vigorously prevent a determined thief but it does look tough! Of the three lock settings smallest is too tight, medium is just a little loose. The box it came in showed protective caps on the ends. Mine arrived with no rubber caps. It does scratch my nice teardrop custom wheels.

Continues to work as expected. Looks nice and easy to store. I did wrap the ends in Black Gorilla Tape to minimize the marring of my wheel. Hopefully the manufacturer has updated the packaging to no longer show the rubber protective caps on the claw which are no longer provided.

This wheel lock works well and seems effective. One year in the weather and the lock still works as new.

It’s been two years outside on my trailer. Lock is still working as new.
It is still there! Must work great as my trailer is still sitting in the lot :)
Great wheel lock. The design and production of the lock is superb. Hopefully it will never be tested but if it is, I'm confident that it will do what it is designed to do. As shown in the picture, it will be used as part of a set of locks to protect our new T@B trailer.

Thanks for the followup. In general Im still very satisfied with the lock. Luckily it hasnt been tested by some unscrupulous person. I have a very secure feeling when using the lock. I guess the only slightly irritating thing Ive found with the lock has to do with the key and lock itself. Compared to all other key locks Ive ever used, this is the only one where the key has to be turned and turned and turned until it reaches the end and the key can be removed. The same happens in reverse when unlocking the lock. You have to turn the key quite a few times to get the lock to where the bolt can be removed and the key can be removed. When youre sitting or laying on the ground putting the lock on or taking it off, this all can be kind of annoying. I wouldnt give up the lock for anything and Im sure it will last longer than Ill have the trailer to which I attach it but a re-design of the locking mechanism could sure help some future customers satisfaction.
Save yourself some time. This item cannot be keyed alike even though this is a CT Johnson lock it will not come keyed alike to other E Trailer locks. Order a receiver lock keyed to your key code and throw out the one that comes with the wheel lock. Other than the lock nonsense, the wheel lock is high quality and looks very secure.

The lock that comes with Blaylock wheel lock is made by a different manufacturer than CT Johnson. It can be keyed alike to other Blaylocks that are ordered at the same time or when ordering multiples of the same lock. You will want to be sure to choose the keyed alike down menu option when ordering.
Nice design and EZ to install. Seems to be very secure. Luckily have not had to have it tested, but I'm sure it significantly deter a thief.
We purchased this wheel lock to protect our Airstream trailer. We tried another system, a tongue lock that failed to properly fit on the tongue. But this lock easily secured the trailer. Given that no one has attempted to defeat the lock, we consider it a success and would recommend its use to others.
Looks like it will do the job, although the smaller model may have been a better fit on my EZ-Loader with 15" tires. I like the locking lug nuts, and that they provide two (I can use the second on my spare). I worried that the multiple key-turns would be a pain, especially if the key is on a keychain with lots of other keys, but it's actually way easier just to spin the knurled knob from the back.
I hope the lock never gets put to the test.
It arrived quickly and it appears this locking system should work well for anyone looking for a quick theft.
It was an easy install and using it is a simple process.
It’s simple & works. My wife worried that someone would drive off with our little trailer, but it’s traveled around some, & we’ve had zero problems. I’d definitely recommend this item.
Does exactly what it's supposed to - prevent the wheel from turning. Seems well made, and I like that the two I purchased are keyed the same.

Fine for the new owner who is my son. I gave the trailer to him over a year ago. He has continued using this product, as far as I know.
Excellent product------strong plus light weight.....

Had to wait awhile to get these, but we really liked the idea of aluminum/ non-rusting for the lock!
I like that it's adjustable and send like it's pretty sturdy. Plus with all the other locks I got fit the trailer they aren't going to be getting mine

Fit was a little tight but the trailer lip is pretty beat up so can't blame the lock. I was able to get it on with a little muscle and it locked right up. Going to buy another for my project manager's trailer too!
