The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.Took a very long time to get the hitch......Probably remnants of the supply chain issues. This is a quality hitch with all necessary hardware but didn't include any Blue Loctite that is required per the instructions. The only difficulty is threading the spring wire....connected to the carriage bolt with metal brace. There are two, one for each leg that extends into the frame rail. I taped the brace to the carriage bolt. This helped.....but I required an assistant to thread the spring wire through the inside hole of the frame rail. I could get one side done by myself but would lose it when manipulating the other side. I like the addition of the frame rail legs / extensions verses the other hitches that simply bolt to where the bumper brace normally lives. Definitely Not Difficult....just takes a little time and patience. I did lower the spare tire......which isn't shown in the pictures. Otherwise, one cannot get the nut and washer on the frame rail extension bolt.
I bought this trailer hitch for my 2024 Subaru Ascent. I recommend watching the video on the e-tailer site. The hitch is built of strong material and I like the way the two long brackets slid into the fame of the vehicle for more secure hold and not just secured by the bumper frame. It took about 1-1/2 hours to install hitch, wiring harness and 4-way plug bracket.
This is at least my 4th hitch I like the hitch but after about a year the paint starts peeling off and then it starts rusting.
