Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Video Transcript for Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe

Ryan: Hey, everyone, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today, on our 2109 Hyundai Santa Fe, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how the install the Draw-Tite Max Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver. My favorite thing about this hitch is how versatile it is. It's going to have many different features that's going to allow us to use it for many different reasons. The first thing that I'd like to point is that it's going to be a Class 3 hitch, so it's going to have that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, and a reinforced collar for extra strength. It is going to have very large safety chain openings.

That's going to give us a lot of different options as far as safety chain hooks go. It is going to use the standard 5/8 size pin and clip, which does not come included, but if you need one, you can pick it up on etrailer.com. As I said earlier, even with our pin and clip installed, our safety chain openings are going to give us more than enough room. It's also going to have an additional hole, that way, we can use a j-pin. Now, what the j-pin does, it's actually a stabilization device. That way, it will eliminate any rattle or vibration in our connection point.

It's also going to have a bracket welded onto the hitch. That's nice because that way we can permanently mount any wiring that we might have directly to our hitch. Now, as far as the weight capacities go, the hitch is going to have a 500 pound maximum tongue rating. That's going to be the amount of weight pushing down on our hitch. It's going to also have a 5,000 pound maximum gross trailer weight rating.

That's going to be the amount of weight pulling on our hitch, so that's the weight of your trailer plus anything you might have on it. Now, it is always a good idea to check with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can pull that much weight. Now, I'm going to give you a couple measurements. You're going to use these when figuring out which hitch mounted accessories to use. From the ground, to the top inside edge of the receiver tube opening is about 13.5 inches. You're going to use that measurement to figure out if you need a ball mount with either a drop or a rise.

From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of our rear bumper, that's about 4.5 inches. You're going to use that measurement to figure out if any folding accessories you might have can be stored in the upright position without making contact with our rear bumper. All right. We've gone over some of the features, let's show you how to get it installed. To begin our installation, I went ahead and lowered and removed our spare tire. On the driver side, we're going to have a plastic panel. We're going to need to remove that. To do that, up top, there's going to be two 14 millimeter plastic nuts that we'll loosen. They won't actually come off, but what you're going to want to do is just turn it to the left a handful of times. Along the bottom side, we're going to have three push pin style fasteners. Now, to get those out, you can either use a trim panel removal tool or even a flat head screwdriver, will work just fine too. What you're going to do is put your tool underneath the head of the fastener, just kind of pry downward, like that. Now, we can grab the panel with our hands and pull downward and set it off to the side. Now, we're going to need to lower our exhaust. But, before we do that, I actually like to use a safety strap. We'll put it on one end of the vehicle to the other, and tighten it up a little bit, that way when we do lower the exhaust, we can control how fast it comes down. We're going to have to remove three rubber isolator hangers, one here by the tailpipe, there will be one on the passenger side of the muffler, right there, and then one towards the center, right here. To remove them, it's a good idea to spray a little lubricant on there, and that will just help them come off a little easier. We can take a pry bar and just pry outward, just like that. I'm going to go ahead and loosen up our strap a little bit, to lower the exhaust to give us some working room.On each side of the frame rail, there's going to be a rubber plug, just like this. We're going to need to remove it. To do that, you can take a flat head screwdriver, just get underneath it and pull down like that. Go ahead and do that to the other side, as well. Now, on each side of the vehicle, on the frame rail, there's going to be two threaded holes. You want to make sure that the threads are clean. That way our hardware goes in freely. What you're going to do is spray them with some penetrating lubricant. I'm going to use a tube brush, which you can find on etrailer.com, if you need one to clean out those threads. Once you think you have them clean, go ahead and take one of the new bolts that come with the hitch, and thread it in by hand to make sure it goes in nice and smooth. If it doesn't, you'll have to clean the threads out a little bit more, until the bolt goes in freely. Go ahead and do that for all the remaining holes. Before we put our hitch into place, I just want to point out our attachment points and the hardware that we're going to be using. On the driver side of the vehicle, our attachment points are going to be here, here, and these two holes here. Now, for these top holes, what we're going to do is use a grade five bolt. It will be the silver bolt and a half-inch conical tooth washer. So, we'll put the washer on like this. You always want the teeth on the washer to face either the hitch or the frame, so they'll go on like this. We'll put our hitch up there, and we'll actually put the bolt through that hole, and through the hitch. Once again, a half-inch conical tooth washer, making sure that the teeth are facing the hitch or the frame. And finally, a half-inch nut. That same hardware will be used for this hole. And as far as these holes on the bottom go, we're going to use these black bolts. Once again, a 7/16 conical tooth washer. The hole is going to be a little bit smaller in the center, so make sure that you're using the right one. Once again, the teeth need to face the hitch, so it will go like that. That same set up will be used for this hole, as well. It's going to be a little bit different over here on the passenger side. We're going to have three attachment points. This one here and these two holes on the bottom. Now, the bolt that we're going to use for this attachment point is actually going to be the grade eight bolt. It's going to be a goldish color. The hitch is going to be sitting this way and our bolt is going to go in from the inside out. Before we put our bolt through, we're going to use this black flat washer. Once again, we'll put it through this way, and then on the other side, we'll use the half inch conical tooth washer, and a grade eight nut. Now, for the holes on the bottom, it's going to be the same as the other side. Once again, we're going to use this black bolt, and a 7/16 conical tooth washer. It will go in like this. Now, with an extra set of hands, we can go ahead and put our hitch into place. We're going to run these through first. We can get a hardware started on one of them. We'll get one bolt on each side, that way the hitch will support itself while we work on the rest of the hardware. Now, with all of our hardware in place and hand tight, go ahead and snug it all down. Now, with all of our hardware snug down, we can use a torque wrench to torque it all. You can find that torque specification in your instructions. Now, with all of our hardware torqued down to the proper spec, we can reinstall our exhaust in the opposite manner that we removed it. Once our exhaust is supported, we can then remove our safety strap. Now, we can go ahead and reinstall our plastic cover. Finally, I went ahead and reinstalled our spare tire. That will do it for our look at and installation of the Draw-Tite Max Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe.

A very sturdy and easy to install hitch on a 2019 Kia Sorento EX V6 AWD. The hitch looks nice on the vehicle and is very securely attached in 7 places. I chose this hitch because it does not require a strap for non-trailer loads and provides a no-drill bracket for the trailer wiring harness. I did have to modify the panel on the passenger side to reattach it. The video explains that the panel can be left out but I decided it was worth the modification. I just drilled 2 holes where the bolts are located on the hitch and cut the rest using scissors. Picture is attached. For the wiring harness bracket I used item 18144 and the wiring kit CURT C56332. Our vehicle has the factory tow package. Ultimately to check if your vehicle has the tow package you just need to pop out the 2 plastic rivets on the driver side panel shown in the install video and see if the 2 connectors are present. I was not able to confirm through the dealer or Kia corporate which Sorentos have the factory tow package. 725073

Ordered this hitch for my new 2020 Santa Fe. After having gotten one that didnt fit from a local retailer (it was actually for a 2012 Santa Fe), I did a little googling and found a video from etrailer.com showing the correct hitch. I quickly ordered it and 2 days later, I was installing it myself. The only problems I encountered during the install was that the heat shield above the muffler on the bottom of the flooring interfered with the installation of the single long bolt on the passenger side and the plastic cover from the drivers side wouldnt go back in place due to contact with the long bolts there. A little "modification" in both areas solved the issues and now I have an awesome fit hitch! Will definitely recommend etrailer.com to anyone who asks! 696355

The Draw Tite hitch for our 2020 Santa Fe came in three days. We got it to use for a bike rack. It was well-packaged and came with all the hardware. The hitch appears to be well-made and should last a long time. I reviewed the included instructions and video from etrailer.com which accurately showed how to install the hitch. I do not have a hoist in my garage and was able to install the hitch in about 1 1/2 hour without even jacking up the car. The installation was relatively easy and the hitch was made to fit perfectly. I recommend just following the instructions and you will have no issues. I used a floor jack to lift and hold the hitch in place until I could get the bolts started. I found it necessary to re-install the three exhaust hangers starting at the hanger at the back of the muffler and working forward. It also helped to use air tools but it was not a necessity. I highly recommend etrailer and Draw Tite! 725147

The hitch came with chips in the powder coat down to the metal. Happened to be in a terrible place ( around the receiver). I had to touch up with a q-tip and black paint in numerous areas. Unfortunately you can tell it was touched up as my paint does not match the powder coating exactly. When I bought a hitch for my previous vehicle from etrailer I had the same problems with chipped paint. I thought that was an anomaly but apparently according to the e-trailer rep it is quite common as the hitches come unprotected and stacked on top of each from China on pallets. The last vehicle this happened to I returned the hitch, and after 3 tries the sent me one without chips. This time I did not have the time or patience to wait for another hitch and went ahead and installed it which took me by myself without a lift about 2 hours. 452244

2017 Kia Sorento

Installed hitch today - took about 3hrs (but I worked by myself, I'm old, and don't have a lift.) Instructions were fine, but I recommend reviewing the videos first; using a ratchet strap to support the exhaust was shown in the video, but not the instructions, and it worked great. This went on a one-week old 2017 Sorento, but the only difference I noticed with the video was the fasteners on the plastic box that has to be removed (and issues with reinstalling the box - see below.) The hitch fit perfectly and was pretty easy to install: support the passenger side on the exhaust resonator, and the driver's side bolts go right in. Then just do the other side. The hardest part of the hitch install was torquing the bolt/nut on the passenger side: the nut wants to turn, and getting any wrench on it is tough because of limited clearance. Finally got a box-end wrench on it. Raising the spare tire back up takes a little finessing, because the back of the receiver interferes with it: you have to get the tire on top of the receiver before you raise it much, or it gets stuck underneath. I spent more time reinstalling the plastic box (the one behind the left rear wheel where the wiring is connected) than I did installing the hitch. The horizontal hitch bolts interfere with the box, and I couldn't get the box past them to get the push-pin bolt to align with the nut on the box. I finally gave up and cut a couple of notches in the plastic box, and it went on fine. I think this box is a little different from the 2016, since there was no mention of a problem with this in the video. 385766

Product came in fast. Overall quality was good. All hardware was there and installation was great. Took a few hours but we didn't have the car lifted at all. Driveway install. No regrets whatsoever. 399198

I still love the product. I’ve used it to transport my motorcycle on a trailer and to haul things from Florida to Alabama in a 4x8 trailer. Couldn’t be happier.

Product arrived very quickly and very well packaged. The installation took about 45 minutes since aside from being simple, the instructions and video are very detailed. I wish every product I purchased had this clear step by step instruction. One of my bolts arrived with a minor manufacturing defect and etrailers went above and beyond to get me a new one. Extremely satisfied and looking forward to purchasing their roof racks for my vehicle. Along with the hitch, I also purchased a J-pin part#63201, the Curt 4-Pole T-connector part#C56256, and flat mounting bracket for the connector part#18144. All were really easy to install. 420622

I will start by saying everything was just GREAT! The receiver and wiring harness came 3 days after putting my order in - good solid cardboard, packing reinforced so that nothing moved in transit. Between the excellent video on your website and the included directions, there were no surprises doing the installation on my 2017 Sorento. Once installed, it looks great and clearly is rock-solid: trying to move the receiver moves the entire vehicle. Great product and a good value - 1/2 to 1/3 the price of getting a dealer installed receiver. Also, it is nice to see a company that stays around for a while (I purchased a receiver for my 2005 Sorento) and maintains the same high quality. No pictures, as I have the same color Sorento as you example and it looks EXACTLY the same! 381603

Despite the fact that the installation of this hitch receiver is somewhat of a pain, even with two people, the instructions and information available from etrailer is very good overall and leads you through the installation process very well. The receiver itself looks great and is an excellent fit, once installed. The '17 Kia Sorento apparently has some changes from what's in the instructions, which are very useful to know, but make the job a bit easier. The plastic cover, the removal of which is the second step after dropping the spare, is different. There are no Phillips-head screws to remove, and no nuts. The two plastic nut-like items are purely push-on nuts that grip onto the ridged studs, and do not thread. They are captive on the cover, so come off simply by pulling down on the cover. Reinstalling, however, is a problem because one of the studs is close to the hitch mounting, and the head of the #1 bolt prevents the cover's rear captive nut to line up with the stud. The solution is possibly to un-captivate the nut and install it after the cover's in place (which happened to me by itself from all the forcing I was doing). Overall, a very nice fit to the '17 Sorento. 348488

Due to my circumstances I havent been doing much towing in the past year, but otherwise have no problems, hitch did its job when I did tow. Nice close fit of the ball mount into the square opening. Would have just liked the connector mounting to be higher to keep the mounted connector higher off the ground.

This has been a wonderful addition to my vehicle. It was very easy to install. I also like that it has two size pin holes so I could use the pins I currently owned rather than needing to buy extra stuff. I have towed a small boat and a small trailer which has carried kayaks, my families camping gear, any both mine and my husband's motorcycles. We've also taken a few trips to the dump with various items. All trips went off without a hitch! (Pun intended). Thank you for the great product etrailer! 668412

The product is solid and well made - the only issue that I had was installing the loan bolt on the passenger side of the car as it's almost impossible to get a wrench up to the inside part of the bolt and in the installation video it showed the technician tightening everything but that particular bolt - given how difficult it was, it would be good to include that specifically in the video. 642152

It's an easy install but grab a helper to lift it into place while the other tightens the bolts. I have not towed anything too heavy but have no issues with a 4x8 trailer and a couple of dirt bikes. 638824

The hitch fit perfectly and installation went just as portrayed in the video (though I did not have access to a lift so I did it lying in the ground). Have used it a couple time to tow our RZR and so far so good. Like the spot to mount the plug for the electrics. Only complaint is that the hitch got beat up a bit in shipping - some scratches and one gouge. I just used some spray paint I had to cover those spots and it is fine. Overall it is a great product at a great price. 638698

Fairly Happy-Fairly angry. etrailer service and delivery was excellent. Followed installation instructions. It is very important to use silicone spray to help remove muffler hangers. Hitch went in nicely with ONE exception. We spent 4 hours trying to install the nut on the 12-1.75x120mm bolt. We tried everything and finally figured out that the hardware kit has a coarse threaded bolt and the nut in the kit was fine threaded. finding that problem, a 48cent replacement nut did the trick. I do not know if draw-tite realizes what they did or if they are receiving many complaints about this glitch but it cost me much time. Saved $150 by installing it myself. 628078

Draw Tite is a great product and your price was very competitive. No problem with installing or application in pulling my fully loaded 6x12 enclosed trailer from FL to NY and return. 600681

This is a very good, heavy duty trailer hitch. It fit perfect. I put it on myself. I have had it for one year. No problems and it was the best price I could find when I bought it. 596503

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring For a 2018 Kia Sorento
  • I did some checking and I have found a trailer hitch that will fit your 2018 Kia Sorento. It is Curt trailer hitch # C13195. It will install the same way as on the 2017 model in the video I have linked for you. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage...

  • What Trailer Hitch Offers the Most Ground Clearance for a 2019 Kia Sorento
  • When we installed the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver part # E98843 on a 2018 Kia Sorento we found that the distance from the ground to the bottom of the receiver tube opening is around 11". We have not yet had a chance to install this hitch on a 2019 Kia Sorento but the above should give you a good idea of what your clearance will be. It will however vary depending on tire size and the amount of cargo but not by much. If you need more than 11" we do offer the Draw-Tite Max-Frame...

  • Recommended Class III Trailer Hitch for 2016 Kia Sorento With V6 Engine
  • For your 2016 Kia Sorento with a V6 engine I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75908 trailer hitch. This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver and is bolt-on installation so no drilling into your Sorento's frame will be required; I like this hitch over the option from Curt because the Draw-Tite does not require the use of stabilizing straps for non-trailer loads such as bike racks the way the Curt hitch does. The Draw-Tite has a 5,000 lb towing capacity and 500 lb tongue weight capacity though...

  • Trailer Hitch Fit Recommendation for 2019 Kia Sorento
  • We do have a Draw Tite hitch that is confirmed as a fit for your 2019 Kia Sorento. For that you'd want the Draw Tite hitch part # 75908 which is a Class III hitch with plenty of capacity and would work well. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well. For trailer wiring we then have the Tekonsha kit part # 118583 which is a confirmed fit and will work well too. This is a custom install kit too. If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer...

  • Why Does Curt Require Stabilizer Strap When Carrying Bike Rack and Not Draw Tite
  • I have spoke with my contact at Curt numerous times regarding the requirement of the stabilizing/support strap, # 18050. Curt requires this strap in order to alleviate the leveraging affect that a non-trailer load places on a hitch like part # C13195. At Curt they like to use the example of carrying a gallon of milk. Think of the strain that would be put on your arm if it is extended opposed to if you carry the milk close to your body. This is what also happens with a hitch when a bike...

  • How to Determine if 2016 Kia Sorento Has Factory Tow Prep Package
  • The elements that comprise a factory tow package vary greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer and even between different model vehicles of the same manufacturer. Based on my research, it looks like the tow package for your 2016 Kia Sorento would simply feature a larger cooler and pre wiring for a trailer connector. To determine if your vehicle has the factory tow package, I recommend visiting your local Kia dealer with your VIN. They will then be able to tell you exactly what was installed...

  • Comparing Curt # 13195 and Draw-Tite # 75908 for 2017 Kia Sorento
  • The Draw-Tite # 75908 is more hidden with the recessed aspect of the hitch pin hole being 5-1/2 inches from the outermost part of the bumper. The height is 15-1/2 inches from the inside top of the receiver to the ground. The Curt # C13195 is very similar in style and has a hitch pin hole that is 4-1/2 inches from the outermost part of the bumper so it is 1 inch closer to the outside of the bumper. The hitch does sit closer to the ground with the top inside of the receiver 13-1/2...

  • Recommended Wiring and Brake Controller for 2019 Kia Sorento with Factory Tow Package
  • There is a 2019 Kia Sorento that can pull up to 5,000 lbs. Often dealers need more information to get you exactly what you desire and at times that isn't a factory option. To my knowledge the factory tow package on the Sorento does not give you a 7-way but only a 4-way. If you don't have the 4-way, you will need to start there with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118269. It sounds like you already have this connector. Next...

  • Comparing the Curt and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitches for a 2019 Kia Sorento
  • The weight ratings for the Curt # C13195 and Draw-Tite # 75908 for your 2019 Kia Sorento do differ but since they both exceed the max weight ratings for your Sorento (found in your owner's manual) they don't really play an important role when comparing these 2 hitches. The biggest difference between the Curt and Draw-Tite options is that Curt requires that the support strap # 18050 be used for any non-trailer loads like a bike rack whereas the Draw-Tite doesn't have this same requirement. When...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Confirmed to Fit a 2019 Kia Sorento SX Limited
  • I was able to confirm from Draw-Tite that their hitch reciever # 75908 does carry over to the 2019 models. I was also available to find out that the wiring harness # C56332 from Curt also fits since you have the 3.3L V6 in the SX Limited model. It doesn't fit the 4-cylinder Sorentos.

  • Trailer Hitch that Sticks Out the Least for Bike Rack on 2017 Kia Sorento
  • The hitch for your 2017 Kia Sorento that sticks out the least from the rear of the vehicle is the Draw Tite part # 75908. The Curt # C13195 and the etrailer.com brand part # e98843 are actually made by the same company so the pictures you saw of the Curt are reflective of the etrailer.com brand as well.

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendations for 2019 Kia Sorento
  • For your 2019 Kia Sorento there are two trailer wiring options I recommend. The T-One kit part # 118269 for if you do have the tow package (does not require running wire to battery) or the part # 118583 which is the correct kit for if you do not have the trailer package. This does require running a wire to battery so that your trailer wiring is powered by the battery and not the delicate vehicle wiring. If your Kia Sorento has a trailer hitch you most likely have the tow package. Since...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness for 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe
  • We do have trailer hitches for your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, Draw-Tite # 75908 and Curt # C13195. These are identical in design and installation but I suggest the Curt # C13195 since it offers a higher tongue weight rating. Extra capacity is never a bad thing. For a 4-pole wiring harness for the trailer lights I suggest the Tekonsha # 118784 which will plug in under the car on the driver's side. The picture included shows the connector that will plug in at the tow package harness under...

  • Is Trailer Hitch Rated for Weight Distribution Available for 2017 Kia Sorento?
  • There are two hitches that are a fit for your 2017 Kia Sorento though neither the Draw-Tite # 75908 or Curt # C13195 are rated for use with a weight distribution (load-leveling) system so you would be unable to use this to tow your 3,000 lb camper. I looked up your '17 Sorento's owner's manual and it does state that the maximum towing capacity for this vehicle is 3,500 lbs (for the Theta II 2.0/2.4 engine) or 5,000 lbs (for the Lambda II 3.3 engine) only if you have the trailer towing...

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe
  • The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75908 is an excellent choice to install on your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. For wiring I recommend the Tekonsha T-One # 118784 because of how reliable we have found the Tekonsha products to be. I have attached an installation video of both the trailer hitch and the wiring being installed on similar 2019 Santa Fe models that you can reference. I recommend using the Mounting Bracket # 18144 with the tab on the Draw-Tite hitch to permanently mount...

  • How To Determine If My 2019 Kia Sorento Has A Factory Tow Package
  • There is a very good chance your 2019 Kia Sorento has the factory tow package if it came with the 3.3L V6 engine. The dealer is the only way to know for sure but since it sounds like you were having troubling getting this information from them I have another option for you but it will require a bit more work on your end. Racks fits for each car are displayed on the two linked pages, one page for each vehicle. Unfortunately none of the 2-bike carriers we sell correctly fits both of your cars. In order to use one bike rack on both cars you would need to go with a hitch-type rack and install a hitch on each...

  • Weight Distribution System Alternatives for a 2019 Kia Sorento
  • I do have options for your 2019 Kia Sorento that will aid in both sway control and vehicle sag but I unfortunately do not have the answer you are looking for as to why the trailer hitch receivers they offer for your vehicle are not rated for use with a weight distribution system. For a trailer hitch I recommend using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75908. This hitch...

  • Recommended 2-Inch Hitch and Hitch Cargo Carrier for 2019 Kia Sorento
  • The hitch I recommend for your 2019 Kia Sorento is the 2-inch model # E98843 which I prefer over the Draw-Tite # 75908 because of its higher weight capacity and because it is USA-made. This model also has a nicer matte black powder coat finish that is more discrete in appearance than the glossy finish on the Draw-Tite. All required mounting hardware comes with the hitch and you can see it installed on a Sorento in the photo I linked for you. I also linked the written instructions, a...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2017 Kia Sorento without Tow Package
  • We have everything you need to get your 2017 Kia Sorento set up for towing a trailer. Starting with the trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75908. This Class III hitch is confirmed to fit your Kia Sorento and will use existing holes in its frame for a no-drill installation. The hitch will provide you with a 2 inch receiver and it has a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. You will also want to check your copy of the vehicle's owners manual for its...

  • What is the Tongue Weight Capacity of a 2018 Kia Sorento
  • The tongue weight capacity of your 2018 Kia Sorento will vary depending on engine size. If you have the 2.4L I4 engine then your maximum tongue weight capacity is 280 lbs but if you have the 3.3L V6 engine then your maximum tongue weight capacity is 350 lbs. Therefore, as long as the weight of the carrier and dirt bike do not exceed these figures then you will be able to safely carry it. For this you will need both a trailer hitch and motorcycle carrier. For a trailer hitch, I recommend...

From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. • Trailer Hitch Size Recommendation for 2019 Kia Sorento
  • For your 2019 Kia Sorento we only have 2 inch hitches available since it's a higher capacity vehicle like the Draw Tite part # 75908. 2 inch hitches are generally preferred as they have higher towing capacities and more hitch accessories are made for this size than any other size. You could reduce the hitch opening size of this hitch down to a 1-1/4 inch hitch with the sleeve adapter part # HT02 though.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe to Carry Bike Rac
  • For your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe the trailer hitch I recommend for carrying a 4 bike rack is the Draw Tite part # 75908 which is a confirmed fit and has more than enough capacity. What really sets this hitch apart from the Curt that also fits your vehicle is the fact it does not require the use of a stabilizer strap with a non-supported load like a bike rack like the Curt does. Now to carry a bike rack you do not need trailer wiring, but if you want trailer wiring still the 4-way kit...
