Fit perfectly on our 2009 Odyssey. Just make sure to do like others have said and run a tap through the threads before installing the hitch... we lived for 10 years where there is no rust, or salt on the roads and I STILL felt like I was going to strip the threads on the van by just using the supplied bolts after wire brushing the holes... after using a tap, the bolts went in no problem. Fit and finish is good on this hitch. The design "flows" with the rear of the Odyssey and it looks good! 705511

Awesome product. Awesome price. Packaging, shipping, and instructions were all top notch. Super easy from start to finish. Buddy of mine bought one elsewhere and commented that “why does yours look so much better?! Like it’s a stock hitch!” I’ve already recommended etrailer to friends! 568196

2010 Honda Odyssey

So, i've been looking for a hitch for my 2010 Honda Odyssey EX-L van to use for transporting bikes with a bike rack I just purchased. Went to trailer rental place and they were just charging too much for the hitch and installation. Since I purchased my bike tray rack for my roof rack on my sedan here on etrailer, I decided to see what hitches were offered. I went with the Curt Class 3 hitch for my vehicle after reading the reviews and watching the video that etrailer provided for instructions. I received the package through UPS. Unfortunately, there was a hole where the hitch made its way through during the shipping process. No biggie I said. Cleaned out the mount points on the van with WD-40 and a tube bristled brush. Tested all mounted points with the provided screws and everything looked to be dialed.....Until I tried mounting the hitch. Screwed in one bolt on the driver side and tried to mount the other bolt on the passenger side to no avail. The hitch was off by just a tad under .25mm. The hitch wouldn't line up no matter what I did. So, i took a clothe (to protect the nice finish) and my rubber mallet and hammered it out. It just took a few good hits to make up for the difference to line up the hitch. I'm thinking that it probably got out of line during the shipping process via UPS. Maybe thick pieces of styrofoam would've helped on both ends to prevent this from happening. Anyways, I mounted the hitch, torque the bolts to specs, and everything lined up perfectly. The hitch install was very easy and probably a 20 minute job with one person only. I really like the finish of the Curt hitch and the way it's constructed. It's very solid with a 2 bike rack carrier. I rated this to be four stars just because I had to hammer out the difference to make the hitch line up. Again, it's probably the shipping process via UPS. But then again, I believe if it was packaged and protected with the styrofoam pieces on the corners, the hitch wouldn't of become misaligned during the process. I read all the reviews and it looks like one other customer had the same issue. Thank you so much for the hitch etrailer. Here are pics that I took this morning mounted and cleaned of 2010 Honda Odyssey EXL. 556182

Despite being easy to install (all hitches for the Odyssey are that way), the design is simply lacking when compared to the Hidden Hitch or Draw-Tite. The Odyssey has three factory mount points on each side. The Curt hitch only uses four of the factory mounts, their fifth requires you to snake a bolt up. While not difficult, it's simply a poor design compared to the alternatives (they use all six factory mounts) Unfortunately I didn't notice this until the hitch arrived (my bad, and in to way a reflection on etrailer, their service was great). Thank you so much Chris for this review. I was leaning towards the Curt trailer hitch because of the extra 12 inch of clearance that it gives over the Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite which both have 12 inches as opposed to 12 1/2. But, now that I have verified how many bolts are used, I will probably go with Hidden Hitch. Thanks again.

Curt hitch C13068 and cover I-728 installed on an Oddy 2012 for the purpose of installing a YAKIMA bike rack. Due to the combination of OEM price and the need for large cutouts in the bodywork required I decided on CURT aftermarket vs. OEM. Selected CURT based on ground/receiver ground-clearance, looks and no mods to bumper bodywork. I installed the CURT hitch by myself in about 1 hour, I used a furniture dolly to move the hitch into position and cribbed it with wood to get to the right height. I did not undo the exhaust mount. Some people have expressed concern over the hitch design, at the end of the day in this "product liability environment" I assume CURT is doing their homework and properlly designed the hitch. Mind you, I do not expect to connect anything heavier than a loaded Yakima 4 bike rack (less than 250 lbs loaded). I do not think I can add to the wealth of information provided by etrailer and the CURT instructions themselves, other than I disagree with the comment to not install the driver side plastic cover. I re-installed by trimming with a box cutter a approx. 1/2 in. × 4 in. corner section. With regards to e-trailer. They could do a slightlly better job packing the hitch so that they do not break through the box (mine showed up sticking out with some minor scuffs). Mind you, I would buy from them again tomorrow based on all the product info, videos and reviews (good and bad), THANK YOU and Kudos I deduct the CURT hitch 1 notch, for not extending the wings to capture all three (3) OEM mount points. Other notes: I separatelly installed an OEM tranny cooler as recommended by HONDA. 71131

Good evening!Great job in placing back the driver side plastic cover. I have a question on photo no.1, whats the extension above the hitch
-- comment by: Dexter - 08/28/2013

That is actually a hitch cover that he wedged up above the hitch to get it out of the way. If you look closely, you can see it has a tether that goes around the hitch behind the collar at the moth of the hitch. It is part I-728.

Hi Francisco, Thanks for the great review. It helped us to clear any doubts and decide on the hitch. One humble request...could you please post the picture for where you replaced the driver side plastic cover? Im curious to see how to cut out in order to replace it. Many Thanks!

You just need to cut on one corner of the inside lip of cover, you are cutting the tip of this lip. Take your time, place the cover and cut away the interference little-by-little. I placed and removed three times because I wanted a tight fit and did not wanted to cut more material than required. Attached find two images indicating the location where I had to cut on the inside lip of the cover. I used a box cutter and shaved little by little, you could also use a hot knife or a rotary tool just dont overcut. Take your time.

2011 Chevrolet Suburban

Went on fairly easy. I had to do a loaner torque wrench from our local auto parts store. Which they return the deposit when you bring it back. I also did have a little help from my 9 year old son. Total time to install took about 1 hour for me. I decided to trim the back fascia panel and put it back on so that took up about 20 minites of that time. One reason I chose this model from Curt was the ground clearance. We are planning a trip to Florida later this year and didn't want to take our Suburban. We already had a cargo rack and cargo bag, so this will work great for our luggage. 567941

2016 Subaru Outback Wagon

Product is very nicely painted and arrived well packed. The video directions provided by etrailer were fantastic. I didn’t even have to jack the vehicle up. At this point, summer 2020 on a 2014 Odyssey, you’re probably going to want to buy a tap for the captive nuts on your vehicle. WD40 and a brush were not sufficient to clean out the nuts. The ones on the exhaust side are open to the elements. Buy a M12 x 1.25mm tap and handle. I had to use a 6” extension from a socket set to clear the exhaust. After tapping the hitch went in no problem. Personally I don’t know why you’d buy a more expensive “hidden” hitch as this one is pretty nicely tucked up there. *Careful when buying things like bike racks though. The receiver is quite a ways from the end of the bumper. The driver’s side plastic guard will need some slight trimming to get it to fit back in place. I used a rotary tool and zipped off a bit of plastic. Pretty simple. *Note: As of this review I haven’t actually used the hitch yet. 805984

I got the c 13068 trailer from e trailer for my 2014 Honda Odyssey after checking around Online and pleasantly surprised with the order, shipping, and product. I wasn’t sure how long it would take (Due to covid) but the trailer came in a timely manner. I was able to install it myself in about 2-hours but would have taken less than 1 hour if I had all the right tools. Since I installed it myself, I actually didn’t lift the car or removed the exhaust. Here is my experience and suggestion 1. Get the tools a head of time. Autozone let’s you loan a torque wrench and other tools if you need it. The torque wrench isn’t common so I’d get one on loan there. 2. The 11/16 and 19 mm sockets aren’t common so look for those before you start. 3. If you don’t plan to remove the exhaust, work on the car when it’s cold. I drove it to a friends to finish and the exhaust was somewhat hot. 4. Having a second person is helpful but not necessary. Overall, I think it’s fine. I could do a follow up review but we are mainly using it for bikes and luggage. Should do the trick and really useful. 804900

I was a bit concerned when I saw this in front of my house, The box was pretty beat up. The hitch itself had some additional protection, and didn't show a scratch. Yay! The hardware was stuck inside the receiver and taped in place - good thing, as it couldn't fall out of that huge hole in the box. This hitch took me thirty minutes to install - in my driveway. I used jack stands to hold the hitch up and just put the bolts in. One bolt went inside a frame member and the spring tool provided made that very easy. The included instructions made it easy. The kit for the wiring plugged into an existing port in the back of the van and included the fuse for the panel to activate that circuit. There was an existing 10mm bolt right there that already had some ground wires - I didn't even need to drill a hole for that. The kit included everything you could possibly need, and the instructions were perfectly clear and included photos. You can get these Curt parts almost anywhere, but e-Trailer had the best price. 804318

  • Comparing Curt and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitches for a 2015 Honda Odyssey
Curt decided not to design hitch # C13068 to account for those welded on pieces you referenced in order to maximize the size of the side hitch brackets. As to why they chose to go with a 5 bolt design I can't say. The Draw-Tite hitch # 75270 sounds like it is what you would like more since it accounts for those welded on pieces and attaches in 6 places. If it were me I would go with Draw-Tite hitch # 76025 for the 2015 Honda Odyssey because with it only the receiver is visible. Installation...

  • Is a Support Strap Required for Curt Hitches when Using a Bike Rack on my 2012 Honday Odyssey
You will not need a support strap for the Yakima Full Swing # Y02465 if you are using Curt Hitch Kit # 13068. The Full Swing comes with everything you need to ensure your bikes are safe at the back of your vehicle. As long as the hitch is installed properly, you will have no issues when using your bike rack. Also make sure you are within the weight limit your hitch and bike rack holds. If you add too much weight to the hitch or the bike rack, this could cause your rack to sag which is dangerous. The...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for 2006 Honda Odyssey with Curt Hitch with 7 inches of Rise
When we installed the Curt Hitch part # C13068 on a similar 2005 Honda Odyssey as yours we found that from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground measured 13 inches. That means that if you need a ball mount platform height at 19-21 inches you'd want a rise ball mount of around 7 inches. For that we have the part # 4283 which in the rise position provides 7 inches of rise. For a 2 inch hitch ball you then would want the part # A-90, or for a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball part # 19286.

  • Is Transmission Cooler Required After Adding Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13068 to 2013 Honda Odyssey
Since you plan to add the Curt Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C13068, to your 2013 Honda Odyssey for the purpose of towing, the owner's manual states you must carefully observe the load limits (I have attached a snapshot of the manual) and use the proper equipment, an ATF (automatic transmission fluid) cooler. I have attached an article for you that is loaded with information on transmission coolers as well as a link to those available for your Odyssey. I personally recommend taking...

  • Will Curt Hitch from 2006 Honda Odyssey Fit a 2015 Honda Odyssey?
Yes. For your 2015 Honda Odyssey, Curt makes two hitch options. The first is the 2 inch receiver # C13068 and the second is a 1-1/4 inch receiver # C12031. Both will fit model years 1999-2017. It is not recommended to reuse the same hardware because it has been torqued to spec once and will no longer have the same strength, so I recommend the hardware kit # RHK to get the same hardware that came with the hitch for the strength rating of the hitch to hold true. For your trailer...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendations for 2014 Honda Odyssey
A transmission cooler isn't a vehicle specific item and the 2013 and 2014 Odyssey are of the same generation, so the coolers shown to fit the 2013 Odyssey would work just fine with the 2014 model. The # D13502 would be an excellent choice for your Odyssey. If you'd care to see an installation video showing the whole install process, please click the provided link. I'll also link you to some FAQ articles about transmission coolers.

  • Are Ball Mounts Supposed to Sit Flush With the Hitch They Are Used On
Having a longer ball mount wouldn't be a problem at all. The biggest issue you may run into is banging your shins on it as it would stick out further than a shorter one. Ball mounts don't have to sit flush with the hitch they are installed into so you would be just fine. We even sell super long ball mounts like the part # 80232 which has a distance of 15-3/4 inches form the pin hole to the ball hole. I attached a help article on trailer towing that you may find informative.

  • Tools Needed When Installing Trailer Hitch On 2015 Honda Odyssey
That is a great catch! After reading the installation instructions a couple times I called my contact at Curt and asked why the tool list included the 19 mm socket. They said it may have been part of a list of tools for a different trailer hitch or an older hitch that used different hardware but it is not needed when installing the # C13068 on your 2015 Odyssey.

  • Should Loctite Be Used to Install a Curt Hitch on a 2014 Honda Odyssey
There's no reason you couldn't use Loctite like part # LT37420 when installing the Curt hitch part # C13068 but as long as you torque the install hardware down to the proper torque figures in the instructions you wouldn't have any problems with the bolts loosening. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well.

  • Hitch and Bike Rack Ground Clearances for 2015 Honda Odyssey
Because of the design of a minivan like your 2015 Honda Odyssey, ground clearance at the rear of the vehicle is certainly something to keep in mind when choosing hitch mounted accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers. For a hitch, I'd recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # C13068. I prefer Curt hitches because of the high quality powder coat finish they use. All the hitches for the Odyssey will have the same approximate 11-1/2 to 11-3/4 inch amount of ground clearance under...
