The included HotSpot mirror is designed to be placed anywhere on the Magna extendable towing mirror. Typically, a blind spot mirror is installed on the bottom outside corner of a side-view mirror.
To determine the best placement of the HotSpot mirror, start by using a piece of folded tape to stick the HotSpot to the towing mirror in the location you think you would like the HotSpot to be. Once you tape the HotSpot in place, sit in your truck and look through the HotSpot mirror. If the HotSpot is not in the best place for you, keep adjusting the location of the HotSpot until it suits your needs. Once the mirror is in the best location, remove the folded tape and use the adhesive backing on the HotSpot to permanently attach it to the towing mirror.

Today we're going to take a look at the CIPA Magna custom extendable driver's side manual towing mirror. This is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1999 to 2008 Ford F250, F350, F450 and the F550 Super Duty trucks that have the manual mirror. This is a nice rounded extendable towing mirror which replaces the factory side view mirror on your vehicle. There's no need to use any snap on or strap on mirrors that you constantly have to put on and take off. This mirror has a nice telescopic function, makes it easy to see around the side of your trailer so you can safely and easily change lanes, pass or park.
Basically you just pull the mirror away from your truck. I've already pulled this out in extended position, and it extends your line of sight by about 4.25", then you just push the mirror back in when you're not towing. It does include this nice wedge hot spot mirror, and this helps eliminate any blind spots. It does have an adhesive backing to it, so it lets you stick this hot spot mirror onto your extendable mirror. This mirror also has a nice fold away design, which allows you to fold the mirror up against the truck for parking or for fitting into tight spots. Does have a nice break away feature which enables the mirror to fold in or out when struck to prevent any breakage.
The mirror itself is a manual mirror face adjustment, you just push it to where you need it. Does use a bi-pillar construction which will dampen vibrations to provide you with sharp, reflective images. It is all in a nice durable ABS plastic housing, offers impact resistance and this is custom fit for your vehicle. It is a simple no drill installation if you look right here it has the same footprint, uses the same mounting points as your factory mirror, and this part is for one driver's side mirror. It is made in the USA.
I do want to give you some dimensions on this. We're going to start with the larger mirror here, the width of it is right at 9.5", the height from the very bottom to the top is right at 10.5". The small hot spot mirror is 2.5" tall by 3.75" inches wide and the extended length, again I've already pulled this all the way out, so from here to here is going to be right at 22" and then if we push it all the way back in the 4.25" it would give you your retracted length of 17.75". That should do it for the review on the CIPA Magna custom extendable driver's side manual towing mirror.

These mirrors are nice the only thing is the mirror is loose and shakes all the time.
Excellent product Difficult installation w/o hinged ratcheting box wrench which I wound up getting. Two hours w/o, 20 minutes with. Great visibility and very solid mirrors, no vibration. Great improvement. Very reasonable price.
Mirrors have done well. The small mirrors(wedge HotSpot mirrors ) fell off and had to replace with better adhesive.
Mirrors a bit pricey but in-stock and I needed them sooner rather than later. Mirror quality --- decent. Driver's side installed in less than 15 minutes. Passenger side should have taken less but...
[1] Mounting studs were not "set" in mirror assembly.
[2] Nuts (already on mounting studs) were self-locking --- couldn't set studs without backing them out when trying to remove nuts to install mirror.
[3] Had to find additional metric nuts (old ones were English SAE) and small tools to create "locked nut" to set studs then unlock nuts before being able to install passenger mirror.
Less than 10 minute job on passenger mirror took closer to 45 minutes or more because of extra hassles!
