When you’re carrying tools or gear that can’t get wet or stolen, this cover makes a huge difference. The 1" thick aluminum slats are impact and weather resistant, so they hold up through storms and resist dents from dropped objects. When closed and locked with your tailgate, it keeps everything out of sight and secure. The matte black finish is scratch resistant and won’t fade, so it stays looking clean even after heavy use.
You don’t have to fight with snaps, straps, or hinges. The RetraxPRO MX slides open and closed on sealed ball-bearing rollers that don’t need lubrication. It retracts evenly and smoothly every time, and because there are no joints or hinges to trap dirt or freeze up, it works the same in summer heat or winter cold.
Sometimes you’ve got long cargo like lumber or gear that sticks out past the tailgate. This cover lets you secure it without losing bed protection. You can latch it at any point along the rails, keeping smaller items covered up front while leaving space for oversized loads in the back. It operates independently from the tailgate, so you can open one without touching the other.
Rain, snow, and dust stay out thanks to weather stripping and foam seals on all sides. The cover overlaps the top of the tailgate to block water entry, and the canister has dual drain tubes that channel water out through the bed’s factory holes. Inside the canister, a spiral track system keeps the cover from rubbing against itself, so it stays smooth and clean roll after roll.
The low-profile rails sit just 1" above the bed, giving a flush, finished look that keeps the truck’s lines intact. The no-drill installation uses clamp-on rails that mount easily and hold tight. The canister’s angled bottom saves space in the bed, so even when the cover’s retracted, you still have room to slide gear underneath.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover in matte black. You can upgrade your old tonneau cover and not have to worry about any snapping or hook and loop connections. The RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover is the best way to cover up your truck bed. One of it's great features is, it can be locked anywhere along the rails you please. It's perfect for keeping your gear dry, covering up that fifth wheel head and you can even use it to secure your elongated cargo. The latch itself doubles as a handle. When you're ready to lock it, it sits flush within the cover and you can lock it up with the included keys.
When you've done that you can put the cover over top. The whole thing rolls up into the flush mounted box for a low profile design. It only takes up about 12 inches of space behind your cab. It's a simple clamp on installation and the rails only sit about an 1-1/4" high on top of our truck bed rails. Here on the inside they take up about 1-3/4". The sealed ball bearing rollers within the cover make opening and closing easy.
And because they're sealed, they're maintenance free. The whole thing is made out of an industrial strength aluminum, it's gonna keep out the elements and it can support distributed loads of up to 500 pounds. When used with the locking tailgate, it's furthers your security. The whole thing is UV protected and it features a limited lifetime warranty. It's an easy no drill installation, it simply attaches to your truck bed rails with the provided clamps. And that's going to complete our look at the RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover.

After about a year owning this cover, I still would buy it again. If you set it up right in the first place, it will work flawlessly. The locking mechanism still works great. The rolling part still works great. Aside from a solid cover, this is the most secure cover I have ever had. It does get some drips of water inside after washing the truck but its not enough to worry about, even if you had a bed full of stuff.

So on the plus side, love how it opens all the way up. When were loading the bed for travel, I need it fully open. Downside is the amount of room the canister takes up and the water as previously mentioned. Still quite easy to use!
