I have had these Kenda tires on my dual axle trailer for over 10 years with no problems. They were the original equipment provided on Cargopro trailers manufactured in Maine. When they finally needed to be replaced, I read reviews for other name brand manufacturers and thought, why would I ever buy tires that most people didn't get more than three years life? I searched the web, found Etrailer.com, their prices were very reasonable and they shipped the same day I placed my order. Their service was great, the tires arrived in three days, they are installed and ride smoothly. Thanks to Rebecca for all of your help! 167851

Great products and great service! I am a shop owner in Sarasota, Florida who services several local commercial fleets. I don't have a huge need for trailer related items but when I have a need, I require fast service, fair prices and correct parts. eTrailer.com has never failed to provide outstanding products at market correct prices with fast affordable delivery. Thanks eTrailer for being exactly what we need, when we need it! 4100

I prefer to deal with etrailer, they've sent exactly what I've ordered every time and for the price I was quoted. I tried to use Walmart one time for the trailer tires, the order kept getting changed and cancelled. They ended up telling me they couldn't sell those tires and ship for the price they advertised. I waisted 3 weeks dealing with that. Etrailer had the same tires on my porch in less than a week 344875

I bought 2 of these tires after purchasing 2 other brand tires from a local wholesale club that I had ended up taking back because of several problems. These tires are so great I bought 2 more to go on a smaller trailer. The ride very smooth compared to the others that I had. Great tires and great customer service. Shipping is super fast as well. 142764

Review from a similar Kenda Karrier Radial in Tires and Wheels

These tires replaces identical tires I bought in 2008 for my TT. We drove to Alaska from Ontario, Canada, in 2009 and then to New Foundland in 2010 in addition to several other minor trips to the east coast and local camping trips. I always maintained 65PSI , whether the TT was parked or on the road. Never had a problem, and they feel good on the road. While the thread is still good, i prefer to get new ones as we are going a trip to BC this Summer... 6 yrs old including 6 Canadian Winters, I prefer to be safe than sorry on the road. I know they are made in China and I sure hope the new ones will be as good as those they will replace. 132141

the 185 80 13 max psi of 65. New to towing, curious - the max psi is 65...what would you anyone recommend for cold tire pressure. This is for a popup camper, empty weight 2175 lbs. loaded - guessing 2,500 lbs.Car tires have max psi of 36, manufactuer recommends 32 cold.heres where the confusion sets inThanks!

Car tires and trailer tires work a bit differently. The car manufacturer specifies where to air the tires to for the best combination of ride and performance. With trailer tires, their load capacity is in part determined by tire pressure. If the trailer tire has a max of 65 psi, you will need to air to 65 psi cold in order to achieve full weight capacity. If the pressure is less, so is the weight capacity of the tire. Pressures on the side of a tire are always cold figures.

The tires purchased in 2014 have been good , however I sold the TT earlier this Spring. Having said that , this last Spring, I bought the same make for my utility trailer and my new to me tent trailer. I always have maintained the pressure at the maximum PSI for the maximum load. When on the road, I checked them daily , during the evening, 5 or 6 hrs after we stopped or first thing in the morning, before leaving. So far absolutely great tires.

Ordered 14 inch rims and tires for my 2007 Jayco travel trailer. Easy ordering, prompt delivery, easy to install, very satisfied with every aspect of etrailer!!! 137382

Comments

Were your original rims 13 inch? I have 13 inch rims with ST18580D13 bias ply load range D tires on my Jayco Jayfeather Ultralite 228 trailer and am looking to switch to radials in load range D... These are about as close to the original tire size as I can find. If you did up-size from smaller rims and tires, how is it working out for you?

Ernest,Yes I had 13 18580D13s as standard equipment. Put on Hankook 195 75R14 8 ply load range D 2094 lbs at 65psi. Tires fit fine. There is hardly any difference in the width and height increased maybe 1 inch. I have taken the trailer on logging roads with pot holesbad washboard without any issues. With the 13 inch tires on i had 2 clearance on each side and about 7-8 from the top of tire to the wheel well Jayco will not give you any help and Dexter, axle manufacture, sent information but to check the clearances out required a lift which i did not have. Common sense dictated the 14 tires would work and they do. Hope this helps just check the side wall and top clearances.Hope this helpsclearances

Review from a similar Kenda Karrier Radial in Tires and Wheels

Received the tires and they are fine tires. My issue is with the buying experience with etrailer. 2 things that did not go so well: 1. The day after I bought the tires, etrailer dropped the price by over $7/tire. So etrailer has this "Lowest Price Pledge" policy (there is a link right on the page for this tire) of a lowest price pledge and if you find a lower price in 30 days, they will refund 110% of the difference. When I called etrailer, they would only refund the price difference and NOT 110% of the price difference. Why? They said that the 110% price pledge does not apply to their own site? Huh? No where on the price pledge does it say that etrailer is exempt from their own price pledge of refunding a 110% of the difference if you find a lower price. Not Happy. If you make a pledge, stick to it. 2. Got the tires and I live near Redding, CA. Went into town and could not find any one who would install the tires on my trailer. The basic message I got was we do not want to install someone else's tires. After 2 hours of calling and driving to the tire shops in Redding, I finally found a reputable outfit to install and spin balance the tires for $22/tire which pretty much negates any savings from buying them online. Based on this overall negative experience, this is probably the last time I will ever buy tires online again and my issue with etrailer's own lowest price pledge left a bad taste in my mouth from an outfit I usually have had a really good relationship with. I have bought quite a bit from etrailer and I expected better customer service than what I got. 407919

I needed a quality set of tires for my 1959 Lil Loafer camper trailer, the only tires I could find at any tire shop local to me were bias ply and nothing over a load range D. So needless to say those would wear out real fast and not track very will. These Kenda radials will fill the need perfectly. A load range E 10 ply rating will give me the confidence I need when hitting the road. I had them mounted at a local tire shop and took it out for a test run and they sure help the little trailer track nice. Great tire for a little vintage trailer. Delivery was fast as well, less than a week. The price is fair with the exception of the Canadian exchange on the US dollar. And the website works smooth for orders, I'll be back for other stuff for sure. 385741

I will be traveling next week and will have much more confidence in the tires on my camper. These appear to be great tires at a great price! etrailer.com was EXCELLENT to order from - tires arrived as promised, in great condition and they even promptly honored their price match policy when I found abetter price elsewhere. 184766

We just returned from a trip to the Florida Keys. Also traveled to northwest Kentucky, Smoky Mountains NP and a state park near Columbus Ga last October. We have camped several placed locally as well. The tires performed well for each of these trips - with no problems at all. I keep the tires covered when parked to avoid any sun exposure issues. Very pleased with the tires and overall purchase. I will likely order another tire for the spare in the near future.

This is the second pair of these ST 145/12 radial I have purchased for my vintage 1959 Lil Loafer trailer. After taking the first pair on a couple of short trips I realized I did not have a radial spare, only my old bias ply tires. Since I don't want to mix radial and bias I figured I should buy another pair for spares, (in spite of the exchange rate on the Canadian dollar and the cost of shipping to Canada). Still loving these tires in comparison to the bias ply, we are planning a longer trip still this year so that will be a good test. Oh, I even reused the packaging to protect my bench top while repacking the bearings. 406791

We could not be happier with this purchase and transaction. The prices were quite reasonable, for this market & product, and the free-shipping saved us nearly $200. They got here faster than expected at 10 days, each tire & rim assembly were boxed separately and arrived undamaged - see pictures. I will now have to have them balanced, as I see no balancing weights on the rims, which was expected. We also ordered a spare, which was to be delivered late, but it arrived with the shipment too. Very good! 5-star is well deserved. Thank you etrailer.com! 406376

Received them well before expected, given free delivery. Just had them mounted on my X-lite. This was an upgrade from the load rate C. The real test will be to see if they make it all the way to Alaska from Maine. Get back to me in September of 2015. So far I am happy with the product and e-trailer. 184959

Only just put tires on, so can't yet report on them. They look/feel well made. etrailer made good on their 110% price guarantee when I proved a lower price elsewhere. When it appeared there was going to be a delay in shipping they called and offered an alternative tire which I chose to decline and waited for these. They arrived earlier than anticipated however. Easy transaction, hope the tires are as good as other reviews. A word of warning; the shop took 8 hours yesterday to do a laser alignment on my Correct Track equipped 5th wheel and to mount these 4 tires. Adding insult to injury, they billed a half hour apiece to mount them, or $270! I almost blew a gasket after they had told me that it would only be a couple of hours and that I'd be fine waiting. The sign on the wall for $29 (each) mounting was if you bought their tires (very fine print). Needless to say I didn't let them get away with that. I at least give them credit for honoring the $29 sign on the wall after arguing it. Next time I'll be getting them mounted elsewhere.... 484278

I have always had problems locating ST205/75R14 Load Range D tires locally for my camper. etrailer.com had them and made it easy. I have loaded the camper down and made several long trips. Every stop I monitor the tires for heat buildup. They run cool and I have not had any problems. 185378

I have had the Kenda Karrier ST20575R14 tires on my camper for 1 year now. No problems with the tires and they seem to be wearing good. I load the camper down heavy and make 300 mile trips frequently. I will buy the next set of tires from etrailer.com if I ever need them.

I like the tires but I seem to be having an issue with one of them. At the start of the camping season, when i took the cover off my camper, I noticed that one of the tires was flat. I filled it up and it was ok. There might be a small leak somewhere because I occasionally have to put air in it.I had installed the tires at the end of the camping season so I never had a chance to really test out the tires after installation.

This is a great trailer tire! I purchased these for my R-Pod 182G (I'm guessing around 3500lbs fully loaded) for a cross-country road trip. I wanted a more robust tire so I could travel at 70 mph without constantly worrying if the tires would blow-out. 3800 miles in two weeks and the tires handled perfectly and still look new. I filled them with nitrogen because I was traversing a wide range of elevations (7200'-500') and I didn't want to worry about pressure fluctuations. They were filled to 65psi when the tires were a little warm so they ended up being about 60psi when cold, but they never got above 70psi when hot. This is a great tire if you have a trailer that usually uses a Load Range "C", 6 ply tire. E-trailer made my order very painless, offering free shipping, which I had to forgo and pay $7.95 for 3-5 day shipping, because I needed them that week. The tires arrived in great shape in 3 days. 270276

Tires and wheels came FAST! I was surprised! Got these mounted/balanced this weekend and installed them myself yesterday, as I had to go over all the bearings, repack with fresh grease, check the hubs, etc. They look sharp! The real test will be how they do on the road going down to Mexico later this month. They seem like a good solid load range D tire, but will report back after I get some miles on them and see how they hold up. Purchased the galvanized wheels from etrailer as well. The tire shop that mounted/balanced cautioned me on one of the rims about a weld that was a bit iffy to them -- they checked them all as they were mounting. It didn't seem too bad to me, but I'm not a professional. 305500

I purchased two of these tires for my boat trailer 5 years ago. They had maybe 10-12k miles on them. Last fall I had one of the tires go bad - the tire cords failed causing uneven wear. It didn't blow out but I was perhaps lucky. Purchased a replacement - same tire. Last month I had a similar cord failure with the other old tire. After that problem was going to purchase 2 new name brand tires but couldn't find any D load rating tires in the 175/80R13 tires. Decided to just buy another Karrier tire. When my mechanic changed out the second tire he said the inside of this one was far worse than the first failure. I was running the tires with 55 psi of air with a max listed pressure of 65 psi. Maybe that was a factor so now running the tires at 60 psi and plan on changing them after 3 years. Not real comfortable with these tires but hopefully I can get 3 years out of them without a failure. 280969

My son had good things to say about these tires and I wanted to try a different brand after having some issues with the ones I was using. I checked with my local guy and he couldn't get these. Found them on etrailer and they had the lowest prices with free shipping. Problem was I needed them for the weekend and you know how shipping goes, they are never there when they say they will be. Well I spent $25 extra to get them here in three days. I could not believe it, they were here in three days! Must have been that two hours after I ordered them I already had a tracking number, that must have helped! I got them mounted up with my new valve stems and they are looking good. 288581

Bought 2 of these tires in 2015, just bought another to replace one that had serious blowout at 60 mph after 16,000 miles. Fortunately no damage from the blowout. Very happy with the tires up until then and not sure of cause of the blowout. It was the tire on the passenger side so maybe picked up something on roadside, rumble strips or hitting a curb. I still like the higher air pressure and load capacity so that's why I got another one. I use these on a single axle light weight travel trailer. I'm including pics of damaged tire and comparison of new and used (~20,000 mi.) I think the wear rate is good for a trailer. 378679

Review from a similar Kenda Karrier Radial in Tires and Wheels

The trailer tires were fine on our first long distance RV trip and it's nice to have a D load rating on this size tire. (When fully loaded, my trailer is very near the max for load class C) I'm not taking full advantage of the higher load rating since the maximum pressure caused too rough a ride on my RV and I dropped the pressure by 5 pounds but it's still better than load range C. Shipping was quick, even with a holiday weekend. The only slight negative was the tire manufacture date. All 4 tires were 9 months old when received and travel trailer tires normally age out rather than wear out. Many sources recommend replacing RV tires after 5 years - so 9 months means 15% of the useful life is lost. Still, assuming the tires hold up well, I will probably purchase them again when these are retired in 5 years. 270547

Review from a similar Kenda Karrier Radial in Tires and Wheels

I bought a used 2013 Keystone Hideout from a private party. The rv didn't have a spare tire. I researched part numbers for the same Karrier tire and Dexter wheel that are on the camper. Search results had etrailer at the top of the list of responses. Prices for these pieces were competitive with other websites. Free shipping over 99 bucks sealed the deal. Just before making the order I noticed that two axle grease cap covers had cracks in them. I searched the ALKO/Hayes part numbers and etrailer was the only site ( other than the mfg ) to list/cross ref the covers AND they were in stock for a low price. I made the order on Tuesday and they arrived Friday which is real good for free shipping from Missouti to N.E. Pa ! Parts arrived securely packaged and in perfect shape. I am very satisfied with this order. 266199

Do you have a question about this Tires and Wheel?

  • Replacement Trailer Tires for 15 Inch Wheels to replace 7.00-15 Tire Size On A 15X5.5 Wheel
  • The Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire, # AM10244, will fit on a 15x5.5 inch wheel. It has a maximum load rating of 1,820 lbs. at 50 psi and an overall diameter of 27.3 inches. The overall width is 8.1 inches. I would not recommend installing the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire, # AM10256, on a rim width of 5.5 inches. The minimum rim width for that size tire is 6 inches. If you try to squeeze that size tire on a narrower wheel than what is recommended, it will cause the...

  • Recommended Replacement ST205/75R15 Trailer Tires
  • We offer two load ranges in the ST205/75R15 radial tire size you referenced. Both are Kenda Karrier tires produced in China to the same specs as tires produced in other factories. All have to meet the same specifications and safety standards regardless of where they are made. Part # AM10245 is a Load range D radial tire and part # AM10244 is a Load rang C. Trailer tires should always be run at their full rated inflation pressure as indicated on the tire sidewall. You might refer to the...

  • Replacement Trailer Tires Needed for a Trailer with H78-15-LT Tires
  • Your trailer tires work out roughly to be the same size as a 225/70-15 tire or a 215/80-15 tire. By my calculations the 225/70-15 tire is 27.4 inches tall and 8.9 inches wide and the 215/80-15 tire is 28.6 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide. The LT designation on your tires is for light truck applications and you would be better off using ST (special trailer) tires that are designed for use on trailers. We do not have an exact match to the above mentioned tire sizes but we do have two...

  • Compatible Modern Tire Size for 8.25-15 and 7.75-15 Size Tires
  • The tire sizes you mention are considered to be obsolete sizes. The 8.25-15 tire would have an 8-1/4 inch width and a diameter around 28-1/2 inches. The 7.75-15 tire would be around 7-3/4 inches wide with an approximate diameter of 27-3/4 inches. The closest modern tire size to the 8.25-15 would be a ST225/75-15, available in bias ply load range D as part # AM1ST96, or in radial load range D as part # AM10256 or load range C as part # AM10251. A ST225/75-15 would be about the same diameter...

  • What Causes Cupping Wear On ST205/75-15 Trailer Tires And Should I Use Radial Or Bias Tires
  • When you have cupping wear on a tire it is from the tire bouncing on the road. You will want to check the air pressure in the tire and make sure you are running the maximum air pressure that is indicated on the tire. Then, I would recommend to have the tires and wheels balanced. Another thing to check is the suspension parts on the trailer. When suspension parts begin to wear and get loose it can cause the tire to hop when being towed and cause the cupping pattern. The load range...

  • Trailer Tire Recommendation to Replace a F78-15
  • The modern tire size equivalent to your F78-15 is the size ST205/75-15 like the part # AM10245. This is a Load Range D tire with the capacity of 2,150 lbs at 65 psi. For a Load Range C in this size you would want the part # AM10244 instead. This tire has a capacity of 1,820 lbs at 50 psi. As long as you go with a tire that has enough weight capacity for your trailer when loaded it doesn't matter which Load Range you go with. You should note that trailer tires should always be inflated...

  • Trailer Tire Recommendation for an Enclosed Trailer With ST205/75R15 Tires
  • If you have 4 load range C, ST205/75-15 tires, that is more than enough for 2,000 to 2,500 pounds. Each tire should have a capacity of 1,820 pounds at 50 psi. Trailer tires should always be inflated to their maximum psi rating for best performance and longest life. Radial tires are going to track better and give you a better ride without sacrificing durability. I recommend going with Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C, # AM10244, if you just want tires. If you want...

  • How to Measure the Width of a Trailer Wheel
  • The width of a trailer wheel is measured from the inner edge of a bead to the inner edge of the other bead. If you take this measurement it should be 5 inches on your wheel. Take a look at the video I have linked that shows how to measure. You can use a 205/75-15 sized tire as wheels can accept a range of tire widths. A 5-1/2 inch wide tire, like the Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire, # AM10244, will still fit on a 5 inch wide rim. I have also included links to two FAQ articles...

  • Trailer Wheel for a 15 by 5 Inch Wheel with a 5 on 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern
  • With a bolt hole measurement of 3-1/4 inches on a 5 bolt pattern that would mean you have a 5 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. We have one wheel with that bolt pattern, # TTW550555WS1. This wheel has a pilot hole that measures 4-1/4 inches in diameter. If your existing wheels center on the hubs using wheel bolts and not lug nuts then this wheel will not work. If it uses lug nuts then you can use this wheel because having a larger pilot hole is fine. With this wheel size you will need to use an...

I have provided the links below for each for a 15 inch wheel. To determine the correct wheel, there are a few things to look at. One is the bolt hole pattern. • What is the Metric Equivalent Tire Size in a Load Range D For the G78-15 Load Range C Tire
  • The Metric equivalent of the G78-15 load range C trailer tire is a 205/75-15 tire. The 205/75-15 tire is not available in load range D, so you will have to stay with the load range C that you currently have. I would recommend going with a radial tire, for a better ride and increased performance and longevity. You should not experience any more bulge with a radial tire than you do with a bias ply tire so your should not have any clearance concerns as long as you stay within the capacity...

  • There is only a slight difference between 205/70-15 tires and 205/75-15 tires. A 205/70-15 will be 8 inches wide and 26.3 inches tall. A 205/75-15 will be 8.1 inches wide and 27.3 inches tall. As long as there is more than 1/2 an inch of clearance above the existing tires you can switch to the 205/75-15 tire size. We have a few tires in this size. • Tire Recommendation for 1978 Prowler Travel Trailer
  • If your current tires are the same size as the tires you referenced, ST205/75-15, I would recommend a radial tire like part # AM10244. Radial ply tires typically run cooler than bias ply, which is why I recommend them if they are available in your size. You will also need to choose tires that are of the appropriate load rating, because choosing tires that are rated too low for the weight of the travel trailer will cause excess heat build-up in the tires and could lead to premature wear...

  • Travel Trailer Tires for 25 Foot Tandem Axle Trailer with ST205/75-15 Tires

Since the trailer weighs or is rated at 6,000 pounds, I recommend going with load range C ST205/75-15 tires if that is what the trailer manufacturer requires. Use # AM10244 for a radial or # AM1ST92 for a bias ply tire. Each is rated for 1,820 pounds at 50 psi. I have linked our help article on trailer tires for you.

  • The 235/80-16 tires will be about 3.6 inches in diameter larger than a 205/75-15 tires. Half that difference (1.8 inches) is how much closer the tire would be to the fender. When fully loaded, you will want to see no less than 3 inches of clearance between the top of the tire and the underside of the fender when the trailer is loaded. The reason it is not recommended is because the tires you have are vehicle tires, not trailer tires.
