Features to know about

Struggling for Grip on Icy Grades: Diamond Pattern Bites In

When roads turn slick or you’re tackling snowy mountain passes, the diamond-pattern design on these Titan chains keeps you steady. The cross-connected square links cover more of the tire’s surface, so traction stays consistent not just when you’re climbing but through turns and stops too. Each 0.145" (3.7 mm) manganese nickel alloy link digs into snow and ice for a confident feel even in deep powder or refrozen ruts.

Worried About Clearance in Tight Wheel Wells: Class S Design Fits Where Others Don’t

These chains are SAE Class S rated, meaning they’re built for vehicles with limited clearance between the tire and body components. You only need 1.46" (37 mm) above the tread and 0.59" (15 mm) beside the sidewall. That low-profile fit keeps the chain from rubbing while still giving the grip you need when the law or the conditions call for chains.

Tired of Fighting with Chain Tension: Built-In Adjusters Keep Them Tight

Getting chains snug on a cold, wet road doesn’t have to be a chore. The integrated tensioners on this Titan setup pull the chains evenly across the tire, so you don’t have to fuss with separate rubber bands or extra tools. Once installed, the assisted adjustment design holds them centered and tight, mile after mile, up to the 30 mph maximum speed rating.

Step 1 of installing Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains, showing the chain spread behind the tire before connecting.

Step 2 of Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains installation, connecting yellow and blue cables behind tire.

Step 3 of Titan Chain installation showing centering of cross chains and front yellow chain connection with green hook.

Step 4 of Titan Chain installation showing draw chain and rubber tensioner being threaded and tightened through red channel and rings.

Step 5 of Titan Chain installation showing vehicle pulled forward to retighten and secure snow tire chains.

Chains That Hold Up Season After Season: Manganese Nickel Alloy Builds Strength

These are not mild-steel throw-aways. The manganese nickel alloy steel is tough, corrosion-resistant, and built to handle the grind of repeated winter use. The hardened links resist rust and stretching, so you get reliable traction year after year. A reusable plastic storage case keeps them organized and ready when the next storm rolls through.

Ready When Snow Hits: Smooth Ride and Legal Compliance

Even when you’re just carrying them for chain-law zones, this pair gives peace of mind. The small square links help the tires roll smoother and quieter than bulky ladder-style chains, so you stay in control on icy roads or slushy grades without the jolt of heavy chain slap. Two chains come in the set, covering one axle and keeping you prepared for whatever winter throws your way.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Our tire chains arrived today and we were super impressed with how quick they got here and how nicely they were packaged! And the customer service from start to finish was amazing! We will definitely use etrailer again!

by:

First time trying etrailer and I must say very impressed. Kept me very wellinformed during all steps during shipping. The packaged arrived on the date promised. Overall A+

by:

I have not yet had a chance to try the chains out, although I am very pleased with the efficiency and value of etrailer, and the chains even came in a nice little storage pouch!

by:

Etrailer was great, very responsive and chains were delivered very quickly, surprising for free basic delivery. Have not yet had an opportunity to practice putting chains on vehicle. Are illegal here in VA, but purchased them for trip to Colorado, Wyoming in Feb, Mar. Will certainly do business with these guys again when in need of their products!

Company review (have not tried the snow chains yet)
I have booked a vacation in the White Mountains of NH and I was concerned about getting my van to the house I rented at the top of a mountain. I took a drive up with my 3500 HD pickup and it wasn’t a simple ascent. My kids use a van for skiing due to needing a changing room for skiing with Covid rules. Even with studded snow tires I felt we should have chains just in case. With 2 days prior to leaving I paid for 2 days shipping. They went from MO to NH in less than 16 hrs from the time I placed the order! Very thankful to have these so quickly and hopefully we won’t need them! No Covid disclaimers, no BS, just super quick shipping and delivery!!

by:

Arrived as scheduled.
Packaged well.
I
did a test install, and all seems good.
Seems like a quality product.
Installed on my Ram Promaster 3500 Class B van.

by:

I haven't actually used them in the snow yet, but really like the design and ease of application. Both chains can be attached within 5 minutes. I anticipate having good traction by the looks of the design. Thank you!

by:

This is just my 2nd. order with etrailer - however, both of my experiences have been exceptional - imagine, in this age, calling an 800 # at 9:30 pm & getting a live person! - Bridgette was the epitome of exceptional customer service - she ordered my snow chains, answering all my questions, & shipped them in 3 days for $x bucks! AMAZING!

by:

Love these chains. I’ve been using diamond pattern chains for years. I have a set for both vehicles. These are super easy to install, smooth running, and give way more grip than cables. Be sure to buy the rubber “adjusters” to keep the chains tight to your tire.

Ordering both pairs was painless and they arrived on time.

by:

The tire chains arrived in record time , giving me enough time to try them on the tires before my trip to the snowy mountains. They fit perfectly and came in a convenient bag for storage. The customer service was most helpful in deciding the exact size and style for my SUV. The price was surprisingly affordable.
Thank you Karen for all your patience and and concern for exceptional customer service.

This is based on a driveway install. Pretty easy but slightly more complicated than standard cable chains. The box they come in is much larger (hence the once point off) No real complaints but on my pacifica 2020 with 18" wheels I can't use the second loop or even get the rubber hook across the wheel to the other side. They seem secure and I'll update if I ever get in a condition to use them, these are more like keeping bandaids in the car, you might never need them but if you do there they are. No complaints about the shipping and etrailer has been great to deal with (been buying from them for awhile).

by:

Easy to put one and worked great other then on first use a link broke and had the chain whipping in my wheel well. Had to pull over almost immediately, I guess the benefit was the repair link was easy to use

I always recommend doing a dry test install of tire chains once you receive them. Only drive with them on a snow covered road and avoid any non snow covered roads while installed.

by:

Only used these once in snow and ice in Southern Oregon. The tire chains gripped the road well and keep my camper van on the road. They were easy to put on the tires even in the dark! Good value!

by:

The titan Chain Diamond Lt Alloy Chain-sq Link work great on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. It’s been a year since I bought them, and I knew they fit because I practiced at home, but last weekend I used them in the snow for real. Easy to install, not too much vibration while driving, and easy to take off. Bonus: they fit easily back into the case! Never had a set of chains that easy to put away.

by:

Ordered these chains for my Class C rv. We were driving to Colorado for Thanksgiving. An early snow storm stranded us at a Flying J . We woke up to 12 inches of snow. I put on the chains and was able to get to to the west side of Denver. They were vey easy to put on the tires. Made driving safe!

by:

Chains for front wheel drive Ram Promaster 2500 campervan. Have used them a couple times to get up access road to ski area in snow and they work very effectively. Like all chains speed must be kept below 30mph and occasionally need to be re tightened. But overall set up is fairly straightforward if you practice first in warm dry weather.

by:

I used these once to get out of some soft ground/mud. Easy to install without having to jack up the van or drive over them. You just wrap them around the back of the wheel and click the fasteners. It couldn't be simpler.

I bought these for the rare occasion I get stuck in mud. I have used them twice in the year I have had them. Easy to install, even in the mud. Work great. Easy to hose off. The bag keeps them nicely for when needed. I should have laminated the instructions.

by:

I will respond to the review because I like what I bought. However, I have not yet had to use the product. I live in southern California and am a snow skier. I have season passes for Mammoth Mountain and only went up for one week last year. My car has snow tires and 4 wheel drive. The snows condition was not bad enough last year that I was required to use the chains. The state law requires that I carry snow chains for all four wheels. I have seen many times that I would need to put on the chains. Just not so far with these chains. I love the ease that they go on. I love the storage case and I like not having to have individual rubber stretchers for each tire.

by:

Good product, fair price. Installation video a little misleading since REMOVAL of chains very complicated unless chains in very specific position on wheel when attempting to take off. Took me several tries in dry practice until I figured out requirements (try disentangling draped links on brake lines, etc. hard to see and even harder to grab behind the wheel). Not looking forward to doing this in snow but etrailer’s video is good idea. Picture of removal techniques would be great improvement. Snow chains are not fun.

by:

Very easy to put on and off !!
Have
not had to drive with them but it feels good to have them !

by:

Received the chains a day early, thank you ! Put them on for a practice run , as advertised fit perfect and went on in minutes .... hope I won’t need them but thank you for the great customer service ...

by:

Fairly easy to put on... Used in the mountainous region of Tehachapi California in Feb. 2016 (they do not use salt or ash on roads when it snows) and did not have any issues getting around with my front wheel drive Kia Sorento.

by:

Fairly easy to install once you know how. Printed instructions are provided but watch the installation videos here at etrailer. Can’t speak to the durability but they appear to be well-made. I installed one chain on one wheel to ensure they fit and to familiarize myself with installing them. The cases that the chains come in are nice. I bought two pair for my AWD Sorento. My utilization plan for these chains is to avoid situations which would require their use but I’m reassured knowing that I have them if I need them. And in some states/areas you’re required by law to carry them in your vehicle during winter.

by:

From ordering, to shipment, tracking, delivery and follow-up, really top notch service. The videos that show how to install are perfect (pay attention to that first hooking of the chain after draping the chains over the tire - a very important step!!). The picture is of my practice run in Texas prior to heading to PA/NY for a couple of weeks - haven’t needed them yet, but have total peace of mind that if I do need them, all will be well - they performed great in my pasture!!

by:

Works well, I suggest adding additional tensioner if you don’t want any slack.
Loved the product

  • Tire Chains for Tandem Axle Travel Trailer With ST235/80R16 Tires
Hey Rob, welcome back! For your tandem axle travel trailer I recommend the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2319. These have a diamond pattern giving you more lateral stability, which is ideal on non-drive wheels. They also have built-in adjusters to keep them tight and secure. I'm assuming both axles have brakes so I would get a pair for each to keep braking and traction even. These are Class S compatible so clearance probably won't be an issue. Tire chains are usually only placed on a tow vehicle, and then only on the drive wheels. We do not have any experience with using or recommending them for use on the tires of a 5th wheel trailer.
