Features to know about

Getting Through Snow Without the Rough Ride: Low-Profile Twist Links Grip Smoothly

When the roads are covered in snow or light ice, these low-profile tire chains give you traction without beating you up on the drive. The twist links bite into snow for reliable grip while their rounded edges keep the ride smoother than square-link chains. With the 4.5 mm (0.177") low-carbon steel links laid out in a sturdy ladder pattern, you get solid forward traction when you need it most—without the harsh vibration that heavier chains usually bring.

Driving on Tight-Clearance Vehicles: Class S Design Keeps You Moving

If your vehicle has limited wheel-well clearance, these chains are built to fit where standard chains can’t. They meet SAE Class S clearance standards—so you only need 1.46" (37 mm) above the tread and 0.59" (15 mm) at the sidewall. That slim profile makes them a dependable choice for modern vehicles that can’t handle bulky chains but still need dependable traction for mountain or highway snow zones.

Avoiding Loose Connections in Tough Conditions: Simple Manual Design Stays Secure

No cams or levers here—just a straightforward manual connection that stays put. With nothing that can pop loose while you’re backing up or driving over uneven ground, these chains keep their hold even in rough terrain. For an extra-tight fit, you can add optional rubber adjusters. That means less fiddling and more confidence when you’re dealing with snow or ice.

Attaching optional rubber tensioners to Titan Chain tire chains to ensure a snug, secure fit on the tire.

A Stronger Option Than Cables: Low-Carbon Steel Construction Holds Up

When cables aren’t enough, this pair steps up with durable low-carbon steel links that handle real winter use. They’re tough enough for repeated mounting and removal, giving you a reliable “just-in-case” setup that outlasts typical cable chains. Each set includes two tire chains and a reusable storage case so you can keep them ready for when the weather turns bad.

Person laying Titan Chain tire chains flat on the ground, preparing for installation by removing tangles and twists.

Draping Titan Chain tire chains over the top of a vehicle tire, ensuring correct orientation before securing.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

As with everything I get from etrailer my new snow chains arrived in an extremely timely manner. Had a few questions during the ordering process which were answered with a single, helpful, friendly, concise phone call. My vehicle is equipped with oversized tires so I had to use the tire size calculator to get the correct fit for the tires I am using. The tire calculator was right on. Perfect fit. Perfect wheel well clearance when mounted on front or back. I needed type S chains for my commuter vehicle to make the 5 mile trip to the main road on those 12" snow/ freezing rain mornings not only comfortable, and possible, but also as safe as possible. Long story short if you need snow chains of any size or style etrailer is you store.

Website is useful, ordering is easy, prices are reasonable, shipping is fast.
Will be back when will try chains during Christmas trip.

by:

Excellent communication: good, competitive pricing and prompt delivery.

I have an ‘07 toyota camry tire size 215/60/16 and was able to install the chains on both of the drive tires in less than 7 mins by myself. I could've bought snow cables but based on my research, the camry is not low profile, plus the snow chains have more “bite” traction vs the cables! Etrailer is my go to place for auto accessories!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!
Id give a 10 star, but 5 star was the max, extremely pleased with my experience with the purchase.

Haven't had to use the tire chains I bought yet. The only problem I had when I got the order was the plastic container that the trailer chains were in was broken.
Hope to use them soon.
Thank you for asking,

My tire chains arrived on time, in good condition. I was able to use them a few days later. I already had the bungie cord tensioners and the directions were fine for me. They worked well. I only wish the shipping was cheaper, but I guess it was a heavy package and i did pick a faster service because I needed them soon.

by:

For the Crosstrek we finally got an excellent pair of chains.

My Titan Chain Low Profile Tire Chains arrived on time and fit great. They were exactly as described. Luckily I did not have to use them at all last winter, but I did a test run and they were relatively easy to install and tighten. Having these in the trunk of my van allow me to stay in compliance with state "chains required" regulations and provides me with peace of mind. I would highly recommend this product. Customer service has been great.

Very happy with etrailer web site, ordering, support, notification and product. Easy to follow instructions included in product. Purchased chains for our Honda Odyssey with P235/60R18 tires. Chains easy to install. After a couple fit tests I found I needed to cut the tire perimeter circumferential main chains back to the link holding the last cross tire chain (note: I did not cut the link holding the last cross chain, I cut the next link closer to the chain end thus making the link holding the cross chain the last link. I also cut the last cross tire cross chain at the two links where they attach to the main circumferential front and back chains. This was no big deal as I have a pair of bolt cutters and this is not the first time I have had to fit chains to my tire. Once cut and fitted drove up and down the driveway accumulating several yards driven. I found you will need to retighten after my test which was easy. Have yet to give them the real test in snow.

Perfect and affordable.

Chains were easy to put on and with the rubber tensioners these chains are snug. Haven't used these on the road but my driveway was covered with snow and ice and it handled it great

by:

The chains were great, however the blue tensioners broke at the worst time and I didn't even use them for more than 10 minutes before the tensioner broke.

by:

Can't really talk about the actual performance of the chain in action since it is 100 degrees outside right now. Bought these to prepare for next winter. I have recently changed cars and tire sizes from my old chain set. However, I can talk about the process. Ordering was easy and shipping was swift. I assume these chains will be perfect. You may assume the same if I don't come back in Jan 2019 and say differently. The pricing was the very lowest and half price of everyone else. Even if I had to use these as parts for other chains it was worth the price for parts alone. Get one before they figure out the price is too low.

by:

Chains fit very well. Seems that the metal is very soft when trimming off the extra links with a hacksaw it only took a few seconds.

by:

Wow, I have never ever been contacted about a product this long after purchasing! That to me is the best email I've had in years. Thank you very kindly.

I am still out in Colorado. Toughest year of my life hands down. Fortunately I only had to use the chains once last March and they worked great! Just a little more effort to get them on correctly but that is to be expected. And if you drive I-70 and get into a situation without proper tires or chains you get a big fine. No snowboarding for me this year though so no worries!

Thank you again for your email. I will always recommend you guys when I can help others find the equipment they need! Have a good afternoon!

Bought for my 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. It is now unstoppable. My Vermont private road is too steep to be classified as a town road, and it went up through 6 inches of snow with icy spots without ever flinching.

by:

Needed some help getting up my son‘s driveway.
These
were very easy to put on one at a time and will be very helpful.
I did drive a short distance on the the road, which was very bumpy and could only go about 10 miles an hour.
I took a spin out in the backyard which had about a foot of snow on it without a problem.
Very happy with the purchase for 2016 Dodge grand Caravan

Well-made chains with quality finish. Have not used in snow yet so effectiveness and durability are unknown.

JUST WHAT I WANTED. Good quality, light duty, low profile, ladder pattern tire chains. Perfect fit, 225/60 R17, on my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, although this was my second Go-a-Round on ordering. Titan Chain lists TC1138 as the size for this tire and my car. NOT SO! The TC1142 is the one that fits ... perfectly! But Titan says that's for a 225/65 R17 size. THEY ARE WRONG! The TC1138 is 4" too short, and that's a HUGE discrepancy for tire chains. etrailer was absolutely no help with getting the right fit as they only go by listed sizes and don't know any product details (and don't want to know), only selling chains. They tried to steer me towards a Konig Chain with a diamond pattern at almost 5x the cost and far more complicated to install. I found the right chain size on their website in about 5 min. and ordered 2x pairs.

by:

The tire chains arrived on time and were as described. They came in a small plastic box for storage which should be handy. Fortunately, we haven't experienced any snow yet so I don't know how well the chains will perform. I will try to remember to update this review after fully using the chains.

by:

perfect fit and easy to install. Great price. Only negative is it doesn't come with any rubber tighteners. Luckily I had an extra pair and the fit is much better with them.

by:

I bouight theses chains foer my Prius C a year ago. Thankfully, I have not had to use them, but after they arrived (exactly when promised,) we did a "dry run" and found them easy to install, and they stayed on well for the little bit we drove to make sure they were on right. I hope to NEVER need them, but am sure glad to have them.

by:

Product as advertised super fast shipping and an easy-to-navigate website

by:

I bought these chains for an upcoming move that will take my wife through an area that may require them. We have not used them yet. The Chains came quickly and as promised! Etrailer made it easy to find the right size. I had difficulty finding them for our Prius - C, so was okay with having to pay the shipping cost.

  • What is the Largest Size Wheel that Can be Used with a 4 on 4 Inch Bolt Pattern
I do have options for you but before we begin you will need to measure the bolt pattern on your trailer. I have attached a help article for this. I know from experience that most of the Harbor Freight trailers use a 4x100mm bolt pattern and we do not have any options for this. However, if you have the standard 4 on 4" bolt pattern then I do have options for you which are listed below. The largest wheel we offer with a 4 on 4" bolt pattern is 13" diameter. We also do not offer studded tires...
