Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Pop and Lock Custom Tailgate Lock. This is going to help secure your cargo and your tailgate. It's gonna create a nice secure storage area in your truck bed so that all your valuables and anything that you have stored back there is gonna be less susceptible to being stolen. Of course, you are going to need a tonneau cover or camper shell to prevent someone from just reaching over the side. But if you have a cover for your truck bed, this is going to lock your tailgate.
So no one can get in there and access that. This is a customized setup. So it is going to fit your 2014 and newer Toyota Tundra. This will integrate into your OEM tailgate handle. It's gonna mount inside the factory handle mechanism.
So it's really not gonna be noticeable for you at all. It's not gonna change the look or the function. It's just going to allow you to lock your tailgate. This will fit with your backup camera and the tailgate handle as well. So nothing is gonna change except for the fact that you'll be able to lock your tailgate.
This is going to work with your factory power lock system. So it is going to lock and unlock using the remote keyless entry. So when you lock your doors in your truck, it's going to automatically lock your tailgate as well. When you unlock your doors, it will unlock your tailgate. So you're not gonna need any extra keys to weigh down your key chain, to open up the tailgate.
It's gonna lock, lock and unlock automatically with those doors. Now, if your truck is not, doesn't have an existing power lock system. We do also have the switch kit here from Pop and Lock that can be put in to simulate that so that you can lock and unlock your tailgate using that switch kit. And then this is going to be very, very easy to get installed. There are instructions online to walk you through that process, but it's basically a, a plug and play system. Everything is going to fit right in place. You're not gonna have to worry about splicing wires or voiding your, your vehicle's warranty by cutting into the factory wiring. This is all gonna plug right in place. Be very, very easy for you to get installed. You aren't gonna have to do any drilling or welding either. It's all going to mount using the system here to get it mounted in place. So it's gonna be nice and sturdy for you without having to change your truck at all. This does have a reinforced nylon injected molding, nylon injection molded housing, that is going to be very tough and durable. So it's gonna hold up well for you, to make sure that it's gonna last for a nice long time. So if you are wanting to make your tailgate, your truck bed a little bit more secure, this system is gonna work really well for you. That completes our look for today. Works perfectly and wasn’t too difficult to install, getting the wire into the cab out from under the carpet took a little time, I used a piece of stiff wire and pulled the electrical wire through with that. But still pretty easy
