We highly recommend this fuse bypass switch if you need to deactivate a fuse when you flat tow. It's a huge pain to pull the fuse by hand every time, and you risk losing or damaging it. With this kit, you just have to flip a switch.

Technically, it is optional, but if you need to pull a fuse on your vehicle when you flat tow, this kit will make your life so much easier. Instead of wedging yourself down on the floorboard and fishing a tiny fuse out from under your dashboard every time you flat tow (not to mention putting it back again), you can just flip a switch. No dead battery, no lost fuse, no damaged fuse, no back pain.
When the switch is in the drive position, the fuse will be active and your car will function normally. When you're ready to flat tow, you'll flip the switch to the tow setting and deactivate the fuse. This allows you to tow your vehicle without the battery draining.

Nothing buy trouble. Poor engineering on my 2013 Equinox model. Might be fine for others. It did not isolate the parasitic power drain, even with a 12 volt power supply from the RV.
I love the fuse bypass. I used it in my Honda CRV which requires a fuse to be pulled each time the car is towed, then replaced when you want to use the radio. Once installed, taking out the radio fuse is a simple push of a switch. The only problem I encountered was gettin the two loose ends into the fuse socket, and once there I felt it necessary to jam in some foam to keep them in place. It would help if Roadmaster would connect the leads like an actual fuse. Other than that it works exactly as advertised.

Ordering and shipping was fast and easy. Products arrived in good condition. I haven't installed them yet, but it all looks as advertised. Not my first order with etrailer and the customer service was outstanding as always. Why anyone would order from any place other then etrailer I cannot fathom.
What I needed to take care battery drain situation. After checking around, etrailer.com price was comparably a good price, but nevertheless, this item is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive for what it is, a plastic switch, fuse holder, wire, and some terminals, with a Roadmaster label. No complaints for etrailer, but the Roadmaster part is just too expensive. I guess I knew that when I ordered it, though.
My base plate and tow bar has performed flawlessly since the day it was installed. I took a chance by installing the equipment before picking up my motorhome which was 1,300 miles away - hoping everything would match up as advertised. And it was seamless! First time hook-up went without a problem and the car towed perfectly - and has ever since. I'm totally sold on this Blue Ox towing system!

Leads very short, added about 2 ft of wire, easy to install, less than an hour, works as advertised.
Works great so far, haven't towed the car but put the switch in tow mode and it worked as it should. put in drive mode and car started right up. The installation process is easy enough but there isn't much room around the fuse box to run additional wires.

For a bypass switch already purchased three of them
First off the chat rep sent me a complete list of everything that I would need to flat tow a 2015 Equinox so I made the $[XX]+ purchase from their list. After two full days installing all the items needed in the towed vehicle I try and attach it to RV and the connection can not be made. The tow bar will not fit into the base plate attaching points. I immediately (7/21) open a chat to let them know that they recommended the wrong parts and the rep agrees that a mistake was made and says that they will upgrade the shipping of the correct tow bar without charge so that I can have the tow bar a full day before my trip to test the complete install. I follow through with them after getting my order confirmation and it states that expected delivery is 7/22 so even though I needed to purchase a second two bar and wait for a refund on the first tow bar I am satisfied with the handling of the situation and comfortable with the full day to test the parts. On 7/22 I track the package only to see an expected delivery date of 7/23 so I immediately open up a chat and they proceed to tell me that there is nothing that they can do because it is already shipped. Then they go on to tell me that I agreed to 2-day shipping, which I did not. The previous rep told me that they would upgrade the shipping because it was their mistake. The normal Free Shipping is only a two day delivery to my area so an upgrade would mean next day shipping. I requested a full copy of the chat transcript to see where I specifically agreed to 2-Day shipping and they did not send me the transcript. I definitely regret giving this company my money. Their staff needs a lot more training to say the least. First they recommend the wrong parts so they are no expert in their field. Then they force me to purchase the replacement part fully knowing that the mistake was theirs. Then they can not follow through on their agreement to expedite the replacement part. Finally when confronted they proceed to put the blame on the customer as well as shrug their shoulders and say that there is nothing that they can do. Save yourself time, money and aggravation. Shop somewhere else where your business is actually appreciated.
Very easy to install in my gmc 2013 terrain. Took 5 minutes. Hardest part was drilling hole in fuse box cover. I did not have a 3/4" drill bit so has to drill out edges it largest bit I had. Was fine doing this was. Is expensive for what you get, a fuse holder ,switch, plug in and wires?
The most difficult part was finding a spot in the firewall to run the wire for the remote switch.
I installed the Fusemaster fuse bypass switch on my 2012 Chevy Sonic. Install was a snap. It is mounted on the lower dash to the left of the steering wheel and above the fuse panel. I had to cut the fuse cap off and remove the wire loom to get the plastic nut off the switch. The fusemaster switch will be a great time and effort saver since the DLIS fuse on the Sonic is a pain to remove.
After install switch won’t work. Had to tear it back out and order another one, unfortunately the same manufacturer. Lost $100 in the process
This was a replacement for the one that failed after 7 years of use.
Easy to change as I used all the existing wiring and just used the relay and now it works great again.
Nice to see replacement was easy and didn’t require re wiring anything.
Great idea but it does not work on my 2011 CRV.
1. You can’t plug the wires into the fuse holder because there is no divider between the spade. 2. You can’t use the adapter plug because there is a block next to the fuse that does not allow enough clearance for the install.
3. The fuse I removed from my CRV will not fit in the fuse holder on the switch wiring. Other than that, it was perfect!
Easy to install
Roadsters product worked well. I did not remove the lower dash part, and just did extreme yoga to remove and install the fuse bypass. This was the worst part. I can't believe that Honda put this fuse block in such a difficult to access location. The rest was simple. Installing the small connectors was a trick, (I also didn't use the fuse connector) but I finally got the connections in the fuse block. Drilled the hole from the outside and installed the switch. The location could have been lower and more to the left as there was a thicket portion of the dash on the back that prevented the lock nut from seating, but the switch is tight and works well. This is absolutely the way to go instead of pulling a fuse on my 2014 Honda CRV!
