1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, neighbors. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this Vesper Steel 10-spoke trailer wheel. It's a 15 by five inch and it's a five on four and a half inch lug pattern. Now, if you're not sure, on a odd wheel lug pattern, you need to measure directly across from the center of one lug hole diagonally across in between the center of the other two at the opposite side. Just like this image on the screen, that red line, that's how you're gonna measure that and make sure you're getting the right one for your specific application.
Now, getting into the wheel itself, again, it's a nice sturdy steel wheel with a 10-spoke design. So these 10 triangles going around there, that's what they consider that 10-spoke design. It's super durable. It's got a nice corrosion-resistant white acrylic enamel finish that's gonna resist chipping and other damage, and it's a lot better than powder coat finishes. And this finish is actually applied after they've already applied a zinc phosphate pretreatment, and then they cover all that up with an E-coat prime layer.
So it's a very, very nice corrosion-resistant. And it's also got a nice salt spray rating of more than 1,000 hours. Now the backside, they don't double coat that, just the side you see, but this still does have that first layer of finish on it as well. Now, it also has what's called a improved torque retention technology. So when they designed this wheel here, that technology helps to keep the wheel accurately and securely in place whenever it's installed.
Now, the stud holes are uncoated and they're beveled to offer a better clamp force retention. As you can see, the valve stem is included and the wheel meets all SAE J1204 standards. So again, folks, it's a 15 by five inch wheel. The bolt pattern, again, is a five on four and a half, and this pilot hole diameter is 3.31 inches. It's got a nice rating of 2,160 pounds and a very nice two-year limited warranty.
Now, the wheel bolt size where the studs go through, that's considered a half inch hole or a half inch by 20. I myself ordered the wrong size of wheel, so no fault on Etrailer. Brendon was very good and while you don't carry the size I need, he handled the transaction very professionally. I have come to know and trust etrailer and will continue buying from them.
These wheels are very heavy and strong, I expect them to last for many years without trouble. After 1 year there is a little chalking of the white powdercoat finish, but that is a minor complaint that has nothing to do with the safety of these wheels.

Great product, but one of the three wheels has an edge dent and scraped edge finish which implies that it was subjected to rough handling prior to or during shipment. Noticed damage after opening box and removing first wheel. It appears the edge dent was oriented toward bottom of box with no added padding. Chipouts and scrapes can be repaired with touch up enamel. May need to return shipment to eTrailer. Note that I've experienced rough handling of UPS shipments on many occasions.

Good for cheap price. Bought 2 for spare tires only. After about 6 months of sitting in the bed of the truck than is not even driven in winter weather they both have started rusting. In comparison the 4 on my trailer that are at least 7 years old have no rust.

I initially ordered four new wheels for our travel trailer. The initial shipment was delivered in a short 4 days-excellent. Unfortunately one of the wheels was damaged in transit. I called customer service-spoke to a lady by the first name of Jennifer. She took things under control and four days after I'd reported the damage, a new wheel in excellent condition arrived! Not only did etrailer provide excellent products for us, they stood behind their products and promptly replaced the damaged wheel as, (the wheel looked as if it had been dropped during shipment). Great looking strong wheel. this wheel will support the load of my 35' gooseneck trailer. I am going to buy one more so i have a complete new set of four wheels and tires on my trailer.
wheels are nice off set is different than old wheels so cant put chains on for winter use to close to trailer frame I should have asked about back spacing My bad.

Received the steel wheel in short order. The wheel was very loose in the heavy cardboard box. It had places around the rim where the paint or powder coating was gone presumably because of the movement in the box. Also, the back of the rim was missing paint where it was only partly spray. I expect this area to rust prematurely. Not a good look for a brand new product. Wheel could have been wrapped with one or two layers of bubble wrap to provide additional protection to prevent the coating from wearing off during shipment.
