Built-In Offset for Dual Applications
This wheel is designed to be used in dual-wheel setups. The 5.59" offset allows the wheel to be positioned closer to the trailer frame when used as the inner wheel of the setup. And if you use this wheel in the outer position, the offset ensures that it will sit closer to the outside of your trailer. This hub-piloted wheel centers on the hub, not the lugs, and it requires the use of flange nuts (sold separately) for installation.
Corrosion-Resistant Finish
The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and finished on both sides with baked-on DuPont powder paint.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today we're going to take a look at the Taskmaster silver 17 1/2-inch by 6 3/4-inch heavy duty steel dual wheel. It is a hub-piloted design, and it has a bolt pattern of 8 on 275 millimeters. Now, this heavy-duty wheel is designed for use on dually trucks, buses and trailers. You can see the offset on it allows this wheel to be used as either an inner or an outer wheel of a dual-wheel setup. The steel wheel itself has the four hand holds. I can turn a little bit. You can see there's one each side here and one at the top and one at the very bottom.
It's very sturdy and corrosion resistant. The wheel goes through a three-step finishing process, which will first include a zinc phosphate bath, then an e-coat primer, and then silver powder coat on both sides of the wheels. The center disk, right here in the middle, it's spun form from a fine-grain steel. You can see all the way around it's welded into place for strength and durability. It is a hub-piloted wheel, so it does require the use of 90-degree cone lug nuts when installing this. We do sell those separately on our website.
The metal valve stem is included. See if I can turn it around so you can get to see that. Here's your metal valve stem. It has an angle to it, so you can access it. This wheel does meet the SAEJ1204 standards. A few specs on this: The dimension of the wheel ...
Let's turn it this way and get a better . Is 17 1/2 inches, and that's always measured inside to inside. The width on it is 6 3/4 inches. Now, the bolt pattern, this is your large bolt pattern right here, is an 8 on 275 millimeters, so actually the millimeters translates also to about 10.83 inches. If you just measure on a wheel that has an even number of lugs, in this case 8, just measure directly across, center to center ...
You can see if we go center to center you get 10.83 inches. It does use the wheel lug size I had mentioned of 5/8 by 18 and it does require the 90-degree cone lug nuts. Again, we sell these separately. I happened to pull one here. It's part number 6-109. It's designed to go right in there. The weight capacity on this is 5,675 pounds. The pilot hole diameter, which is this large hole right here that goes over the hub on your axle . Can see if we measure across, is going to be right at 8.7 inches, and this wheel does have an offset of positive or negative, depending if you use it as an inner or outer wheel of 5.59 inches offset. That should do it for the review on the Taskmaster silver 17 1/2 by 6 3/4-inch heavy duty steal dual wheel hub-piloted design with the 8 on 275-millimeter bolt pattern.
