1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Lionshead 15-inch by 5-inch white spoke steel trailer wheel with a 5 on 4 1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now this is a steel wheel, has the spoke design to it. It's very sturdy and corrosion-resistant. Now the rust-resistant finish on this includes a nice white powder coat on both the front and even on the back of the wheel. Now if you notice the center cap is not included.
If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on a website. You just wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole. 'Cause when you install it, it does slide through this hole. The diameter on this pilot hole is 3.19 inches. Right up here, if you notice, it does include a valve stem, which is pre-installed in the wheel.
Now this wheel does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, and the SAE J1204 specifications. The wheel is made in the USA. A few dimensions on this. We're gonna measure diameter and the width. And when you measure the diameter, you're always gonna measure inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat.
So if you take our tape measure, you go straight across inside to inside, 15-inch diameter. The width, same way, bead seat to bead seat. So inside to inside, right at five inches wide. And this wheel does have a bolt pattern of 5 on 4 1/2 inches. And if you wanna measure that bolt pattern on a wheel, that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case, five.
What you'll do is pick any one of the holes, let's say this one right here. And then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So on this, if we measure it'd be 4 1/2 inches, so that would tell you it's a 5 on 4 1/2-inch bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,200 pounds. Now we do also offer many other items for your trailer.
