1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look together at this Dexstar Camo Strata steel mod trailer wheel. Now this sturdy steel wheel is made here in the USA and it does feature this camo strata finish with a mod pattern. And this is going to be great if you've got a fishing trailer or a trailer for hunting that's already decked out in camouflage. Instead of having wheels on that trailer, that might be steel or maybe have like a chrome finish and they kind of look out of place on your camouflage trailer.
This is really gonna be a great wheel to consider with that camouflage strata finish on this. This does meet DOT specifications and this wheel has excellent corrosion resistance. And as you can see, that camo pattern was actually achieved by this wheel being dipped into that finish. You can kind of see the residue of that process there on the side of this wheel. So this camouflage strata pattern has been put over an e-coat primer underneath.
So I actually had the opportunity to talk to a Dexstar rep not all that long ago, and I asked about how this finish would hold up and he assured me that this should be a really good finish, it should hold up really well for you because of that process that was used to achieve that finish on this wheel. So this is gonna hold up really well for you. Looking at the dimensions, the diameter of this wheel, measuring beat seat to beat seat is 14 inches, and the width, again, measuring beat seat to beat seat is 5 and a 1/2 inches. Our bolt pattern is 5 on 4 and a 1/2 inches. And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, and then the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes as we have here, you're simply going to measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. The wheel stud size is a 1/2 an inch by 20, and this wheel does have a capacity of 2,200 pounds. The center cap is sold separately, but if you decide to pick one up, you do wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 3.19 inches. Well, that's gonna wrap up our brief look today.
