Lionshead Roadside Assistance Program

This tire comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

Tamarack Radials

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the tread on these Tamarack radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Tamarack tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Tamarack radials are constructed with double steel belts and double nylon cords. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

  • Should I replace My Castle Rock ST ST205/75R14 Tires
This type of question is always challenging due to the amount of varying opinions, different experiences, and lack of controlled environment with set standards. Please keep in mind that Castle Rock is an economy trailer tire so they will not perform at the same level of a Goodyear tire. However, feed back available to me was a statement of a 7,500 mile trip with great performance and no significant wear. But your 12,000 mile trip will be pushing the limit on most any economy tire currently...

  • Replacement Wheel and Tire For a 1965 Shasta Compact 13' Travel Trailer
The information I could find shows the 1965 Shasta Compact 13 would have come with 14" wheels like the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20304. The tire size at the time would have been a F78-14 which would be a Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # LHCK201 with todays sizing. The conventional steel wheel will allow for a Baby Moon Wheel Cover # AM90086 in keeping with the retro look of the Shasta. Be sure to check the fitment in the event any of the running gear on your trailer...

  • Can etrailer Mount Trailer Wheel and Tires
Hey Zach, I wish we had the ability to have wheel and tires mounted here but at this time we do not. But what you could do is have the wheel and tires shipped to a local installer of ours and they could mount them for you? I attached a link to a page that has how you can find a local installer.

  • Replacement 14 Inch Liger Wheel
I checked with Aluma and they list a 14" Liger Wheel and Tire 60-0001396 as a replacement 14" wheel for their trailers but they do not specify the finish. We do have one 14" Liger Wheel item # LH84FR. It is gunmetal gray and has a 5 on 4-1/2 lug pattern. It is not available in a wheel tire combo. For a 205/75-14 tire you will want the Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire item # LHCK201.

  • Solution for Replacement Aluminum Jaguar Trailer Wheel in Black
It does look like that is the Lionshead Jaguar wheel, although originally the face of the wheel would have been silver with a black lining. Unfortunately, the black version has been discontinued. The closest wheel that we have is actually gray, the Gunmetal Gray Jaguar # LHSJ211G will be the best match. It looks like the camper had a 205/75-14 tire before. If you need to replace both the wheel and the tire you can add the tire Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # LHCK201.

  • Where is the Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire Made
The Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire part # LHCK201 like almost all trailer tires are made overseas. There are only two or three US made trailer tires. That said, so long as you keep in mind the speed rating of 75 mph, fill the tires to the cold fill rating of 50 psi, there should not be an issue.

  • Availability Of Gunmetal Grey 14" Liger Wheel And Does It Come As A Combo With A Tire Mounted?
It looks like I do carry the 14" Liger wheel as a combo but only in black # WST57FR. If you are set on the grey wheel they would have to be purchased separately. Just like you said above the wheel is # LH84FR and a good tire would be the Castle rock # LHCK201. We do not mount tires here so you would have to take it and get it mounted. Most tire shops could do that fairly easily. I am not sure exactly why we do not carry this one as a combo. I do not see this combo listed in the manufacturers...

  • Should 205/75R14 Load Range C Trailer Tire Upgrade to Load Range D on 7,250 lb Tandem Axle Trailer
So what you want are tires with a capacity that, when fully inflated, meet or exceed the GVWR of your trailer. If your 205/75R14 load range C tires do not have that capacity then yes, you should definitely upgrade. For example, the load range C Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # LHCK201 has a 1,760 lbs capacity, so four of these would be 7,040 lbs, which is less than your 7,250 lb GVWR. So if that is the case for your tires I highly recommend upgrading to the load range D Westlake...

  • Do You Carry a Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Tire In Load Range D?
Currently we do only carry the Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range C # LHCK201. We do have the Westlake ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # 274-000012 which is also from Lionshead and is the load range D you are looking for. As this is also from Lionshead it shares the same 5-year warranty with the 2-years of complimentary roadside assistance.

  • What PSI to Run Westlake Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Load Range C Tire
Your Westlake Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # LHCK201 should be inflated to their max 50 cold psi. With trailer tires, you always want to inflate them to the maximum cold psi to give you the best performance. The only tire with an inflation chart is the Goodyear Endurance model, but with all other trailer tires the manufacturers recommend inflating to the max psi.

  • Troubleshooting Why Left Rear Tire Has A Bald Tread And The Other Tires Are Fine
There are a few different reasons why your tire tread was bald and your other tires are fine. One option is that you could have a bent or damaged spindle on the trailer. Another option could be that unevenly loading your trailer and putting more weight on the bald tire side. The stem valve could be bad which is not allowing it to hold its full pressure. An under inflated tire will wear a lot faster especially at the outside edges of the treads surface. An over-inflated tire will wear more...

The only 14" Aluminum Jaguar Trailer Wheel with 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern that we currently offer is part # LHSJ211G which is gray in color. For a tire, you can pair it the Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C Item # LHCK201. These do not come mounted; you would need to have them mounted at a local shop upon arrival. This is the only way I can get you the Jaguar wheel that you need.

  • Recommended Temperature And PSI Rating Warnings For A Trailer Tire TPMS System
The high pressure alarm of your TPMS system should be set at 20-25% over your normal tire pressure and the low pressure alarm should be set at 10% below your normal tire pressure so that you can address the issue before it becomes a problem. For the temperature I recommend setting the high temp sensor to 158 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have a tire that gets to this temp, then you likely have a problem. Setting it at 158 degrees Fahrenheit will give you enough time to get off the road before...

The best replacement size option we offer for a 185R14C 8PR is the Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire part # LHCK201. This new tire will be just slightly larger in diameter and width so there should be no issues. It has a 75 mph speed rating.

  • Difference Between 75R14 and 75D14 Tires for Boat Trailer
Yes, the 75R14 and 75D14 are going to have the same aspect ratio but will be constructed differently. You can use them, but the # AM1ST86 are likely not going to be the ideal solution for your trailer. When reading this tire spec, your current tire is a Radial tire (R) where the # AM1ST86 is a bias ply tire (D). Radial tires are typically better at flexing and providing more contact with the road, where bias ply tires provide less sidewall flexing, so they're normally not ideal for highway...

  • Should ST205/75R14 Tires On 2019 Nano TT Be Aired Up To The Max Air PSI Stamped On Sidewall?
Since the tires you have on your 2019 Nano Travel trailer are similar to the Westlate ST205/75R14 # 274-000012 that get aired up to a max 65 PSI, you will want to air them up to that max. Trailer tires have a thicker sidewall as they are designed for the tire to always be aired up to the max pressure. Not airing them up all the way causes excess heat to build up in the tire which can lead to decreased tire life and other issues such as blow outs. I included a video of the # 274-000012...

If you have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and the available space then yes, you can upgrade from 12" wheels and tires to 14" wheels and tires. For this, I recommend the Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Tire w/ 14" Condor Aluminum Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - LR C - Gunmetal # LH84VR which will be perfect for a PWC due to the aluminum wheel constriction. • Why Do My 205/75R14 Tires Wear In The Middle Of The Tread
The main cause of the tires wearing down in the middle of the tread would be due to the tire being overinflated. It could also be that you exceeded the load range weight of the tire. In order to replace your worn down tires The Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10235 would be a good choice. This tire has a maximum load of 2,200 pounds per tire at a 75 psi.
