This radial tire-and-wheel combo is made for serious towing. The Westlake ST225/75R15 tire carries a 2,830-lb max load at 80 psi and holds a speed rating L (75 mph). Double steel belts, double polyester plies, and nylon tread overlays keep it stable and cool on long hauls. It meets DOT and FMVSS specs, so you can count on highway reliability every trip.
Corrosion won’t get in the way here. The 15" x 6" aluminum wheel is rustproof and finished with a glossy black automotive-grade clear coat that resists scuffs and scratches. Steel inserts in the lug nut wells prevent the holes from wearing down over time, keeping the wheel tight on the hub and cutting down on retorquing.

The radial design puts the cords at a 90-degree angle across the tire for less rolling resistance and heat buildup. That means better tread life and steadier tracking at higher speeds. The tread has solid ribs with minimal sipes—perfect for trailer duty where straight-line stability matters most.

Every assembly comes backed by Lionshead’s 2-year roadside assistance program and Westlake’s 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If a flat happens anywhere in the U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico, help will come swap it out 24/7. And if the tire is damaged for any reason not covered by warranty within 12 months, it’s replaced at no charge—including a flat labor rate toward remounting.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Westlake ST225/75R15, Load Range E, radial trailer tire with this 15-inch Eagle aluminum wheel with the 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this tire-and-wheel assembly is gonna be great for RVs and campers and trailers. This is a special trailer tire or ST tire, and it has sturdy sidewalls so they can handle heavy loads. It is created specifically for trailers and not intended for use on other vehicles. Now this radial tire is designed for trailers that are towed on the highway, and it is constructed of double steel belts and double polyester plies, giving you a long life.
And the nylon tread-firming belt overlays are gonna help prevent tread separation. And the Tread Wear Indicator is gonna make it easy to see the tread depth. Now, as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together and as we have stamped here on our tire, this is an ST225/75R15. The section width is 8.8 inches. The outer diameter is 28.3 inches.
And this is a load range E tire, meaning it has a 10-ply rating. And the maximum load is 2,830 pounds at 80 psi. This has a speed rating of L, indicating the maximum speed of 75 miles per hour. And this aluminum wheel is durable, lightweight, and rustproof. It does feature this attractive Eagle Series 6-spoke design in glossy black.
And it has an automotive-grade clear coat finish on the front, and that's gonna protect the wheel from scuffs and scratches. The steel inserts in the lug nut wells are gonna help keep this wheel securely in place on your trailer hub, preventing the holes from wearing down and eliminating the need for the constant retightening of the lug nuts. The dimensions of our wheel, looking at the diameter first, measuring bead seat to bead seat, is 15 inches. The width of our wheel, again, measuring bead seat to bead seat, is 6 inches. Our bolt pattern is 6 on 5-1/2 inches.
And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes and the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes, as we have here, you simply measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the bolt hole directly across from it. The capacity of this wheel is 2,830 pounds. The wheel stud size is 1/2 inch by 20. The center cap is sold separately, but if you decide to pick one up, you'll just have to make sure that it fits a pilot diameter of 4.25 inches. Now this tire-and-wheel assembly does meet the Department of Transportation specifications, the tire meets the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards specifications, and the wheel meets the SAE J1204 standards. One final note that I wanted to make, this tire-and-wheel assembly does come with complimentary roadside assistance for two years. So if your RV or trailer has a flat tire, simply call their helpline and a technician will come and change the flat for you. You can call that number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year from anywhere here in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
