If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Steel Lug Nut Inserts

Taskmaster Viking Vor Aluminum Wheel with Steel Lug-Nut Inserts

This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Match Mounted and Balanced Trailer Tire Assembly

In an ideal world, tire-and-wheel assemblies would be perfectly round and even throughout. Unfortunately tires and wheels have imperfections that often cause vibrations, resulting in a rough ride and wear and tear on the assemblies, as well as on the rest of your trailer's running gear. Taskmaster helps to solve this problem by match mounting and balancing their assemblies so they're ready to roll when they reach your door.

To do this, Taskmaster uses a laser-guided machine to locate the heavy and light spots of each assembly. They then align the assembly so that lightest part of the tire is near the heaviest part of the wheel. The assembly is then rotated at high speeds to pinpoint the optimal place to apply weights to further balance the tire.
Don't delay your adventures by having to take your trailer to the shop for new tires. Start rolling as soon as possible with easy-to-install, fully balanced tire-and-wheel assemblies from Taskmaster.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Video Transcript for Feature Breakdown: Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Tire w 15" Viking Aluminum Wheel

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range C, mounted on this 15 inch Silver Viking Aluminum Wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire wheel assembly is ideal for RVs, campers, and trailers. Now, what's unique on this assembly is the tire is match mounted and balanced to the wheel for ride comfort and durability. And match mounting of tires and wheels, that's a process in which the tire's installation position on the wheel is specifically selected to minimize the final force of imbalance. The method to match mounting is what they do is align the tire's lightest spot with the wheel's heaviest spot, and eliminates most of the radial force that can cause tire and suspension wear.

Then they do the final balancing by applying weights to specific spots on the inner and outer rear of the wheel to eliminate any chance of uneven wear or vibration. Just to show you where the weights are, there's on the inner portion of the weight, and then right over here you can see is on the outer portion, so this tire and wheel assembly will be fully balanced when you receive it. Now, the wheel on this is an aluminum wheel, it's very durable, lightweight, and rustproof. It is a Viking Series Vor design, which is a VOR design. And what that means, it's a five spoke design with a silver painted finish.

The front and the back of the wheel has a nice glossy clear coating on it, protects the wheel from these scuffs and scratches, and if you noticed, the center cap is included. It's a nice chrome metal center cap, and when you install it, you can see it goes in through the rear, and once you put your wheel on your trailer, it'll hold the cap in place. Now, a few dimensions on the wheel itself, the diameter is 15 inches, the width on just the wheel by itself is five inches wide. Now, this wheel does have a bolt pattern of 5 on 4 1/2 inches, and if you wanna measure that on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case, five, what you'll wanna do is pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes, but when you measure it, it's from the center of the starting lug to the furthest edge of whatever lug you measure or whatever hole you measure to. So on this one, it'll measure 4 1/2 inches, so that means it's a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.

Now, the wheel lug size, this uses as a 1/2 inch by 20. Weight capacity on just the wheel by itself is 2,150 pounds, and the pilot hole diameter, which is this large hole where your center cap goes through, when you install this, this will go over the hub on your trailer, diameter of that pilot hole is 3.19 inches. Now, these lug nut wells right here where your lug nuts go, they use steel inserts in it, and this help keeps the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub when you're tightening down your lug nuts. This prevents the holes from elongating and wearing down and eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of the lug nuts. The tire that's on this is a radial tire, it is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords.

It's great for highway use, they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay around it to prevent tread separation, and the tire itself is baked tested to ensure that the rubber will hold up over time. Few dimensions on this, the tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer, 205/75R15, R means it's a radial tire. Section width, eight inches, overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 27.1. This is a Load Range C, which means it's a six-ply rated tire, has a maximum load capacity of 1,820 pounds at 50 psi. And this tire does come with a speed rating, and the speed rating will be stamped on the sidewall also. Right after the tire size, you'll see two numbers for the load index, and then the letter M. Speed rating is always listed in a letter designation, speed rating M will mean that this has an 81 mile per hour speed rating. Now, on the tire itself, they do use nice automotive grade tread that has siping, which is the cuts you can see on the tread blocks. These sipes will help channel water away from underneath the tire, improves traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions. And the ST, like we told you on the size of the tire, that stands for special trailer tire. This will couple the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire, and it is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on other vehicles. This assembly does come with a two-year platinum plus warranty, which will include emergency tire change service and other benefits, and the assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and the SAE standards. But that should do it for the review on this Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range C, mounted on this 15 inch Silver Viking Aluminum Wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
