Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Steel Lug Nut Inserts

Taskmaster Viking Valhalla Black Spoke Aluminum Wheel with Steel Lug-Nut Inserts

This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Match Mounted and Balanced Trailer Tire Assembly

In an ideal world, tire-and-wheel assemblies would be perfectly round and even throughout. Unfortunately tires and wheels have imperfections that often cause vibrations, resulting in a rough ride and wear and tear on the assemblies, as well as on the rest of your trailer's running gear. Taskmaster helps to solve this problem by match mounting and balancing their assemblies so they're ready to roll when they reach your door.

To do this, Taskmaster uses a laser-guided machine to locate the heavy and light spots of each assembly. They then align the assembly so that lightest part of the tire is near the heaviest part of the wheel. The assembly is then rotated at high speeds to pinpoint the optimal place to apply weights to further balance the tire.
Don't delay your adventures by having to take your trailer to the shop for new tires. Start rolling as soon as possible with easy-to-install, fully balanced tire-and-wheel assemblies from Taskmaster.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Video Transcript for All About the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Tire w 15" Viking Aluminum Wheel

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a load range C, on this 15" Black Viking Aluminum Wheel with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. Now, this tire-and-wheel assembly is ideal for RVs, campers, and trailers. The wheel is a nice aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight, and rustproof. It is the Viking Series Valhalla design, which is an all-black five-spoke, and if you notice, it has machine accents around the lip here. It provides a nice bold, sleek look for your trailer. Now, the front and back of the wheel does have a nice protective clear coating on it, and if you notice, it does include the center cap. The center cap is a nice shiny chrome, and you always install it from the rear, and then when you bolt your wheel up onto your trailer, it'll hold it into place.

It does use steel inserts on this wheel, and the lug nut wells help keep the well securely in place on the hub. It prevents the holes from wearing down, and eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. Now, the tire on this is a radial tire. It's constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords. It's great for highway use. They do use a nylon tread-firming belt overlay around the tire to help prevent tread separation.

They do use tread depth bars in the tire grooves, like you'll see in your passenger car tires. That gives you a quick visual indication of the tread wear on the tire. This tire is bake tested to ensure that the rubber hold will hold up over time. This tire does use the Automotive-grade tread design, and when we say that, if you look at the tread blocks, it'll have the cuts in it. Those are called sipes, and what that does is that breaks up the underneath the tire and helps channel it away from underneath to improve traction during any wet, snowy, or icy conditions. This tire is a special trailer tire design. It'll couple the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire, and it is created specifically for trailers, not intended for use on any other vehicles. This whole assembly does come with a 2-Year Platinum Plus warranty, which includes complementary roadside assistance.

Basically, if your trailer has a flat tire, you can call their help line, and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications, and the SAE standards.A few specs on this, starting with the wheel. The diameter of the wheel, just slide the cap out of here. The diameter is always measured inside to inside, or bead seed to bead seed. This'll be 15".

The width on just the wheel is 5" wide. Bolt pattern on this wheel is a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, and if you want to measure that on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, in this case, five, you just pick one of the holes. Let's say this one. Then you'll measure across to either one of these holes, but when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you go to. This one will measure 4-1/2", so it's a five lug, 4-1/2" bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of 1/2" by 20.Pilot hole diameter, that's the large hole here in the center of the wheel, goes over the hub on your trailer. That is 3.19". Now, the wheel capacity on just the wheel is 2,150 pounds. Now, the tire size, the tire size will be stamped on the side of the tire. You can see right here, it'll say ST for Special Trailer, 205/75R15. The R means it's a radial design tire. Section width on this is going to be 8". Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's 27.1. This tire is a load range C, which means it's a six-ply rated tire. It has a maximum load capacity of 1,820 pounds at 50 psi.The last thing I do want to mention is most all the new trailer tires are coming through with speed ratings now, and on a speed rating on a tire, they'll always designate by putting a letter designation on it. Where you find that is if you look at the size right here we just went over. Right after the tire size will be two numbers, which are the load index, and then the letter M after that. So, speed rating M will mean this has a 81 mile per hour speed rating. But that should do it for the review on the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a load range C on the 15" Black Viking Aluminum Wheel with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.
