Features to know about

Solid Connection for a Strong Suspension: Built for 2" Square Axles

Keeping your axle tight to the springs is key to stable towing. This TruRyde U-bolt plate locks a 2" square trailer axle to 1-3/4" wide leaf springs for a secure, aligned setup. It uses (2) 9/16" diameter U-bolts (sold separately) to clamp the axle firmly in place and restore a solid ride over rough roads or heavy loads.

Tough Steel You Can Count On: Oiled Raw Construction per ASTM Specs

This plate is made from oiled raw steel built to ASTM specifications for dependable strength. The raw finish is ideal if you want to paint or coat it for extra protection. It’s designed to match the durability demands of a 3,500-lb setup, giving you confidence that your suspension hardware will hold up mile after mile.

Sized Right for an Easy Fit: Precise Mounting Hole Layout

Getting your hardware lined up is simple thanks to exact hole spacing—2-5/8" horizontal and 2-3/8" vertical, center to center. The 5/8" bolt holes fit 9/16" U-bolts perfectly, so there’s no guesswork when tightening everything down. At 5-3/4" long and 4" wide, the plate fits cleanly against the springs for a snug, even clamp.

Built for Everyday Repairs and Upgrades: Straightforward Installation

Whether you’re replacing worn suspension parts or upgrading for a sturdier setup, this plate installs easily with basic tools. Pair it with the right 9/16" U-bolts and you’ll have a reliable connection that keeps your trailer tracking straight and riding smooth.

I broke a leaf spring on my dual axial boat trailer. Having never replaced a spring before I was lucky to find etrailer on my first call for parts. The sales rep was friendly and knowledgeable. Good prices and parts were delivered on time. etrailers also have good "how to " videos on Youtube. My boats back in the water and the Bass are biting.

I rebuilt a tube trailer that rotted out from the inside using channel. Needed to replace the u-bolts and my normal go to source did not have the size I needed. E trailer had them in stock, the ordering was painless, and the package arrived promptly. No issues with description or quality, everything went together as designed. E trailer is my new go to source for trailer components!

My boat trailer broke and I needed to replace the entire suspension system. I called around to local businesses and would have to wait several weeks for them to order the parts. I began searching online and found etrailer.com. I looked up the parts I needed and all of them were in stock. The shipping was free and the parts were received sooner than I could have ordered them from a local retailer. Also, the price from etrailer.com was cheaper than what I would have had to pay locally. I am very pleased and will continue to use etrailer.com for all of my trailer part needs. I plan on telling everyone I see about my experience and suggest they use etrailer.com as well. Thank for helping me fix my trailer. I will post pictures when the job is finished.

SP01-160 U Bolts look to be good quality just wish they came with lock washers.
TRTP200175 U Bolt spring plates work well with these U Bolts. I ordered 4 of these and got 1 and 3 #117594 plates which are very nice and look more heavy duty.
I thought I got stiffed with the one oddball one but I didn't I ordered the cheaper ones and got 3 of the heaver duty ones.
I also ordered #LC281285 Never Fail Tandem Axle Suspension Hardware Kit and one bolt in the kit is to long like its for a 2" wide spring. Guess I will just use one of the old ones I took out.
And 4 #SP-051275 4 leaf double eye leaf springs.
I am redoing the suspension on a fiber splicing trailer that was damaged during hurricane Michael.
All in All etrailer has great prices and fast shipping and great customer service.

Standard stuff here. These are a little too thin to use to mount the springs on top of the square axle, unless you remove the spring center bolt and insert it through the spring from the other side. They're meant for under slung mount only or I guess you could double them up and tack weld.

The product has performed perfectly after a year of hard usage and interstate towing. No problems whatsoever.

by:

Have started replacement, delay due to health, after removing old suspension on one side discovered that the U Bolts and the base plates do not align, the holes and bolt widths are off,no possible use. Compared the old plates to the new which showed the irregular hole pattern. The bolts do not work with the old plates either. So I'm just using the old hardware.

Lets see if we can figure out why the plates and u bolts did not work our for you. Can you confirm that your square axle is a two-inch wide square?

by:

Great solid quality, not like some of the cheap knock offs with the added ribs for strength on the lighter material styles. Holes are spot on. Glad I went with these.

  • Recommended Leaf Springs for Vintage Trailer
The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 27" Long # SP-210275 will work with your vintage trailer. It looks from the photo like you would also need the Replacement U-Bolt with Nuts for 2" Wide, Square Trailer Axles - 9/16" Diameter # 175211 and the U-Bolt Plate - 2" Wide, Square Trailer Axle - 1-3/4" Wide Spring - 9/16" Bolts # TRTP200175. You will need to reuse your shackle straps, but you can use the Wet Equalizer Bolt with Locknut and Grease Zerk for Double-Eye Springs...

  • Parts Needed For An Over-Under Suspension Conversion On A Boat Trailer
Hey Travis, Since you have a square tube axle the Dexter over-under conversion kits aren't going to have the correct spring seats. We don't currently offer square tube spring seats so you'll need to source them somewhere else and then have a qualified welder weld the new spring seats on the bottom of the axle at the same spot as the originals. You'll want to measure the axle to make sure you're getting the correct size. From there you'll just want to replace the u-bolts because as they...

  • Replacement U-Bolt and Plate for Trailer with 2 Inch Square Axle
For a 2 inch square axle you are going to want u-bolt plate # TRTP200175. The hole spacing on center is 2-5/8 inches by 2-3/8 inches. For matching u-bolts go with # SP01-160. They have a 9/16 inch diameter. I have included a link to a video review for you for the u-bolts.

  • Turning Square Trailer Axle Upside Down for Extended Life On Previously Overloaded Axle
Flipping your axle will help with the upward bend to assist in support and reducing uneven wear on tires. The natural bow in an axle is designed to be slightly upward so under load it will even to level at most. To flip your axle you may need to drill a hole for the springs to fit properly but because your axle is already under the leaf springs, the hole may already exist. Because of your square axle, no other components will be needed unless the plate is welded in place. If that...
